That's a game conversion. Valby from The First Descendant. It may not be the exact conversion but there's a very good one here which also includes hair: https://www.renderhub.com/nathanprescott/valby-for-genesis-8-female
There might be other versions on some patreon but i don't follow those.
July 13, 2024 at 4:52 PM #2083070For the light studio it also could be that the request makes little sense. It's specified as the ''Ultimate Studio Multi Seater'' license which doesn't have any more content than the ''Ultimate Single User'' which is much cheaper.
July 11, 2024 at 11:21 AM #2082771The reason vendors focus on casual clothes and bikinis is because it sells best. Most adult visual novel games are set in todays time so that's the main audience right there.
If there was big money in military, historical, etc clothes we would see more of it. But why waste more time and effort on something that will get you much fewer sales than bikini no.245?Vote with your wallet to get what you want.
May 28, 2024 at 12:34 PM #2077089I think the reason Daz changed G9 to be more industry standard is to appeal to users outside of Daz. Hence also the whole bridges and licenses to use Daz content in games and other programs. The userbase of hobby renderers is in steady decline as other software has simply matured better (reallusion, blender, etc) with constant updates for more versatility. The improvements in AI and the ability to control AI output more and more is also a huge factor which makes people leave Daz rendering behind and simply generate their images instead.
Daz looks and feels outdated so the software as is won't win anyone over to switch anymore. The affordable 3D content library might, though. So it isn't stupid on their part to try to appeal to a new market. Their mistake as usual is that they half assed it and it lacks in promotion outside the Daz bubble.
May 27, 2024 at 8:54 PM #2077007@ethiopia Yeah I've used the info to detrack all my uploads but I'm still careful in case they change something again. I'll post my stuff public eventually, just later in order to mask myself better and to give vendors more initial sales on new stuff 🙂
May 27, 2024 at 6:44 PM #2076969@ethiopia Yeah I have no idea what they were smoking for LF2 considering LF1 looked so clean: https://posersoftware.s3.amazonaws.com/ss_product_images/f406JYzX8BI9XtDTBYU7MbDCvGnE4XLoG3R2lXma.png
I doubt you can achieve anything good with La Femme 2 at all in terms of rigging and correction morphs cause this is a nonsensical mess. Must be difficult for clothing creators too, let alone detailed character morphs. The overall polys just look wobbly and the thighs have much less density than the calves. Vicky 4 is a mess in terms of topology, but she's decades old. Yet, still much better than this lol
No idea what brings them to promote their figure with this too

I believe it was made to compete with the rise of other character creator software and MetaHuman. The problem is that, yeah the lack of density around the chest and also navel is very very bad and kinda rushed on Daz' part. Here are two examples of more professional work:
CC3 https://manual.reallusion.com/Character-Creator-4/Content/ENU/4.0/05_Character/Topology-Mesh-Enhancements.htm
Pro base mesh by Vyusur

They also fixed a very bad anatomical issue with the way too raised armpits on pretty much all older Daz models. Older versions are full of density changes for no reason which results in all these uneven quads. Clean topology is better for a good rig which you can see in G9 suffering less from the crotch triangle issue with clothes than previous iterations did.Another plus are the new UV maps which distribute texel density and direction a lot better than before.

Arms and legs still have small size (density) differences to torso but overall it's a lot closer and distributes details more evenly. The combined head and scalp is something old Poser figures already did and I never understood why it took Daz this long.None of this (Uvs maybe) is majorly important in Daz itself when you have well made figure morphs and clothing with Dforce, though. I enjoy all figures for use in renders for their unique character morphs and content.
For use outside of Daz, inside games or movies though the updated base mesh is a big improvement and ultimately easier for vendors to create for. A unimesh approach is also not a downside and not the reason some characters may look more feminine or masculine. Any basemesh is only as good as the people who will shape it.No figure is as bad as LF2 over at Poser though https://live.cdn.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/161485/lightbox-images/651446/image_77e215b577e1d9c4e41a1321a0f425dd.png
This mess of topology makes me cry.May 26, 2024 at 7:04 AM #2076703I like g9 for brining some modernity to Daz figures, esp in terms of topology. For game dev work, g9 is the best solution as it's much closer to industry standard than all the mess before it. The major issue g9 has is lack of proper mesh density around the chest to add nipples on lower subdivision levels. An odd and frankly dumb choice considering Daz has a giant adult content fanbase.
G8 is little more than an a-posed g3 and very lazy at that. The topology is dated and the rigging can be a pain for asset creators. I've read numerous times that for PAs g9 makes life a lot easier so i understand why a bunch of them shifted their focus on the Daz store.
For rendering, none of this all rly matters tho. In the end it boils down to the quality of the Character morphs you intend to use and imo every figure has some morphs that are timeless.
M4 got the best male sculpts by far in terms of variety and frankly i miss the v4/m4 level of texture differences which set the characters further apart. G8 and G9 alike often use the exact same texture sets, contributing greatly to same face syndrome and frankly being kind of a rip off.
May 22, 2024 at 7:17 AM #2076146I disagree with the sentiment that everything needs to be posted public too. With some stores making attempts to track downloads and all that it's completely fine some people don't fill to be public on the blog.
All needed for requests are 500 points, which are gained so easily by signing in 5 days, filling a request or posting some assets yourself. Use daz artificer tool to repost a long gone request, it takes 1 minute.May 11, 2024 at 6:42 PM #2074453Quite frankly I think it's less the Turbosquid (among other stores) items being overpriced and more us being too used to Daz items being underpriced.
Considering it's extremely difficult to make a living of only Daz items I doubt many creators break even with work hours vs compensation. Add on top of that the insane fees all the 3d content shops take and a hundred bucks for a model is actually a lot more reasonable and fairer to the creator. For example, Turbosquid only pays creators 40%(!!) of the price when they are a new seller.April 13, 2024 at 11:27 AM #2070107I don't think that's the reason. A lot of migrated vendors focus on clothing and such which you don't really need the g9 hd morphs for.
A rosity mod stated in a recent thread that they won't go anywhere and celebrate their anniversary next year...but who knows what it all means. I don't want any stores to close cause it just means more batches of great items lost forever. Also, the products don't show via the new items because they were migrated with original release dates it seems. Confused me too in the beginning because there's this whole promo of new artists but none of their stuff is on the default frontpage.
April 13, 2024 at 11:19 AM #2070104If a filehost is blocked in your country just use a VPN. Be happy people take the time to upload things for you at all. For free no less!
I've seen this kind of entitlement only from people who don't contribute at all.And dragging personal issues into the public like this is ridicolously immature. The request PM tells you who to contact in case of any fill problems.
April 12, 2024 at 6:54 PM #2069993I wish they would do that. It pains me to know that anytime i buy something at LEAST 40% goes straight to daz/renderosity/renderhub/... and not to the artist. I get servers cost money to run but not as much as they leech from the people who keep their software alive.
Not to forget their stupid rules that seem to be getting more and more weird.
April 12, 2024 at 8:03 AM #2069882You can add Valkyrie to that list it seems. They're the welcome artist of today. I really wonder what happened, damn.
April 11, 2024 at 11:12 AM #2069743My god, hard agree with @eelgoo in the sale transparency regard. Most items that are technically on sale are often not even marked as such! You have to add them to your cart to see the real percentage. Most of sales last one day and are tied to buying some of the generic new shlog released every day.
And daz+ is a joke. I don't own either, but at least on rendo there are a lot of prime sales that actually offer good discounts compared to lame freebies and 2 worthless coupons on daz.
Not to mention daz tokens for extra discounts that expire in less than a week. It's all convoluted as hell.
Honestly starting to really like rhub and cgbytes/'rotica more and more.
As for the topic, a lot of artists have been selling on both stores. Sometimes g9 version on daz and g8 on rendo. Anagord is the "welcome" artist of today and all of this just makes me wonder why they run this series now and not when the artists actually started selling there? Does it mark their potential exclusivity deal?
