Quite frankly I think it's less the Turbosquid (among other stores) items being overpriced and more us being too used to Daz items being underpriced.
Considering it's extremely difficult to make a living of only Daz items I doubt many creators break even with work hours vs compensation. Add on top of that the insane fees all the 3d content shops take and a hundred bucks for a model is actually a lot more reasonable and fairer to the creator. For example, Turbosquid only pays creators 40%(!!) of the price when they are a new seller.

Good point @Thedamnthing but hours/revenue would be hard to calculate as it's all down to how well your model sells. Someone like Stonemason doesn't produce much but I imagine he sells very well, while others produce a lot (arguably lower quality) at lower prices. A newer PA would likely spend more time on a model and a more experienced one relatively less as they have more experience, an established workflow and can "recycle" textures etc. That said, I'm pretty sure nobody selling Daz/Poser content does so as their main source on income.
