Mostly used Poser. My poor memory but I joined Renderosity around 2013 and Id guess I messed around a bit before that. So I think 2012 maybe a bit earlier. Seems longer than that though. Ive never been serious. On + off relationship with rendering stuff. Before Id find something else to kill time. WoW, EQ, MtG, Photography, Shooting, Playstation, ect...

Now im back again since Ive gotten a Lap Top that can handle rendering. I like pretty much all the figures. To bad V4 stuff seems an issue to port to G8. Theres a ton of stuff for her as well. But time moves on. The ease of adding Old Genesis stuff to G8 converted me. Iray is nice also. I still like the Moph system in Poser.

Id like to render some pics that make people say Wow thats nice but, most of my stuff seems mediocre. I need more practice.

Hi, I'm a not so evil monkey and I live in Saff London. Pirate forum and not wanting to give away too much personal information aside, (just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not watching you...) I've really only just discovered the world of Daz and 3D renders in the last 5 months or so. Or should I say "rediscovered"? I originally had a copy of Bryce and Poser that I got from magazine cover CD's in the late 90's but my pc then was a piece of crap that couldn't render for shit. Anyway, with the state of most models available then I just gave it a miss but was attracted back recently when I saw how good some models could look with freely available Daz Studio and Iray.

I have a history of traditional and digital drawing at a hobby level but I'm currently not drawing at all (and haven't for a few years) because it makes me frustrated and angry when I used to just draw for fun.

I have a long history of Piracy, seeing the demise of a few well loved sites along the way, notably KAT, Fucktheinter.net (and FTireloaded) and Comic-Central. But of course I never actually downloaded any copyrighted material you understand....

I'm a person, I do some stuff with things. I live somewhere with internet access.

    I like art.

I don't understand why people thing awfully rendered CG porn is a valid expression đŸ˜€ (especially when good renders are pretty easy to get in DAZ)

Hi I'm coolcat and that's my real name ,( JK) I live north of the US border I am almost a half a century old I have a wife, two kids and two grand kids I started using Daz about 5 years ago or so, I use it for my own stories that I make and the contests here , which I really like doing, I like seeing what I can do and what others can do. It is nice to have the community here , people that share a common interest in this stuff my family and friends are not interested in it so its nice to have people that are.

I am a female born towards the end of the soviet occupation of Germany on the wrong side of the Berlin wall. For the last 12 years I have been living in the US with my husband and child.

Used poser from poser 5 on until sometime last year where I finally made the switch after holding out, but the newest version of poser just kept crashing and continued to do so even after I got a new PC, enough of that and G3/G8 were pretty darn tempting as was Iray so I finally switched over. I do buy a lot if not most of my content as I do want to support the artists but as someone who is a good 30k USD into the hobby over the years I got a little jaded when they started putting out figures faster and faster and are basically reusing content etc.

I'm basically going to live right here in my recliner. Yes. I dubbed this recliner mine. Its the biggest one for a Dragon. Its the closest to the coffee pot(reaching distance), at an angle where I can see my monitor and my TV screen without straining my neck. I can see the whole room with the entry ways in front of me and bear suit off to the side. Its also easy access to that window beside me that I am naming Cary for the sole purpose of the upcoming joke, in case I completely lose it and decide to grab the bear suit and jump out the window , committing Hairy Cary.

I just grabbed Hexagon again. I had it years ago. OK, over a decade, but figured I'd give it a shot again. I wasn't very good last time. I'm OK with sketchup. Kind of wish all modeling programs were as easy.

I dabbled with it. Think I’ll stick with Max. Maybe learn Zbrush, since Mudbox won’t work with my system. But I agree about Hexagon.

Thanks, @drgnmztr. The image of Furry Harry Cary is now burned in my brain!

Side note; anyone else use Apps that support Windows services for entertainment? Basically, I have a Plex server that I use in conjunction with Sonarr (superior to Sickbeard) and Radarr (superior to Couch Potato) I hope I’m not talking Greek.

Anyway, I use Usenet APIs to snatch TV shows and movies. I use Usenet Crawler and DogNZB for indexers. Usenet Crawler is horrible, if it’s even still up and running. DogNZB is okay, but I’m looking for better indexers. Anyone have any suggestions or (wink) an invitation code?

I run a plex server on my main PC and a router-based media server on my wireless router. One day when I feel rich i'll buy a plex-enabled router.

If you want to learn hardcore scultping, zBrush is definitely the program of choice... it's UI sucks but its feature set is unparalleled as is its community support. If you want to learn traditional modelling Maya is the standard (though I personally dislike it with a passion) all the cool kids use MODO.

As much as I like to think of good forums as a pseudo family, I'm careful in places like this since others are watching.
I'm a retired professional that started with Poser 1. It crashed constantly and I mostly ignored the Poserverse until Zygote (now Daz3D) released Studio. I now use it to make weird, sick, twisted, perverted, disgusting and just plain messed up porn. My son has instructions to remove the hard drives from my computers upon my passing and run them under his cutting torch. I unapologeticaly(sp?) pirate everything and consider Daz to be a bunch of greedy, selfish, short sighted sleazebags.

@ethiopia - why do you think a company that gives away it's base software with a good amount of content, and constantly has huge sales that bring the overpriced content down to reasonable prices, is greedy selfish and short sighted ?

I mean I get possibly the short sighted, the software really needs improvement, but then it's also free.

@silverboax, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's because their products are mostly overpriced, their sales aren't logical and are designed to be confusing for the casual shopper so that they keep coming back to browse the store and buy new products.

I can understand why they do a lot of what they do but it's a big "corporate" view of the world. They don't allow any linking to other vendor sites on their forum or any mention of any other places to attain products. It's as though their product and site is the only option unless you know better. Other vendor sites will link to other places, discuss alternate products, allow vendors to distribute free products and generally be a little more fair.

Whilst far from perfect, I prefer the way Renderosity do things.
Their sales promotions are usually a lot more straightforward, easy to understand, more flexible & of more use to the customer.

    Here is quite a biggy.
They allow, & even encourage, feedback review comments from purchasers.

Another plus is they allow nudity in sales promos, so in the case of character packs, you can actually see what it is you are purchasing.
