It depends where you look for the card. Yep 980's are an older model but still pack a punch in almost every 3D app and games.

EvilMonkey is right. It's not worth the upgrade at today's prices.
Best save for a desktop if you really want the firepower.@norbertz thanks. I'll keep an eye out.
also, any suggestions on where to look would be cool too. Popular public sites are just going to jack up the prices. AMZ, CL. I won't deal with TigerDirect or NewEgg anymore because they both tried to screw me with bait and switch and with-holding of money.Rank:eBay seems the only place if you want a decent used 980 card and EVGA are the only one's who will transfer the warranty.
If you do buy an EVGA card that still has a lengthy warranty attached don't register it with them as they'll knock the warranty down to 12 months.
Just guest RMA the card if it becomes faulty.
