So, not this 3PUK? https://www.3puk.org/about
January 11, 2024 at 12:25 PM #2052950I've found that HID's characters tend to have wider/thicker bodies than their inspirations tend to have, even back with G8F. If what you're referring to is even more than this, perhaps a screenshot or two might help.
October 4, 2023 at 1:39 PM #2033297It would be easier to navigate if future posts were hidden until they were available, then they appear in reverse chronological order of availability, rather than the date the post was created. Right now the blog is a mess.
Hell, even a bright red border around each 'not available yet' post on the list page would give some clue as to whether something is worth clicking on.
April 29, 2023 at 9:08 PM #1963683@eelgoo he actually specified "A New Zealand female business owner..." so I'm impressed it ignored the incorrect "his" afterwards. I assume it considers adjectives > possesive pronouns amongst other things.
December 27, 2022 at 6:49 PM #1906476It shouldn't be necessary to manually remove the buy button from posts tagged as dead. A filter could remove the button in functions.php fully but a simpler 'fix' in css:
.category-dead-post .mycred-sell-this-wrapper {display:none;}October 21, 2022 at 11:26 AM #1879814@Legolas18 That has transpired to be the case but there is a bug in the new version of Studio that activates CBS (the G9 nomenclature for JCMs) morphs even if the required morph is not present:
As Zev0 states here:
Ye I see the problem. I added support for some Daz morphs, but since they are not there for users, it is auto dialing them up. Well that's retarded, they should remain inactive instead of auto dialing...
At the end of the day the G9 launch is a shitshow.
October 21, 2022 at 9:06 AM #1879747The general release plan is atrocious. The bare minimum head and body morphs are nowhere to be seen, yet Zev0's release today (Growing Up for G9) seems to require at least the body morphs. Talk about 'ass about face'.
A big issue with Daz Studio has always been speed of loading in a character - this is just going to be compounded now with both male and female morphs all loading on the same base.
September 22, 2022 at 10:34 PM #1870043@scoobydude51 There is no 'built in' HD. The base mesh of G9 is just higher density - similar to a G8 at subd level 1. That means non-PA morphs can still only sculpt at the base mesh resolution - but as the mesh is denser, a bit more detail can be sculpted in without the need for the HD toolkit. This should be a good thing (which could be made better by releasing the damn HD toolkit! 😀 )
@slender331man The skeleton looks roughly the same - only the names of the joints have been changed to, I paraphrase from the Youtube stream, "industry standard naming conventions". A converter would just need to map old joint names to new joint names as a basis. Obviously there's other aspects to the conversion process but the joint names won't matter.August 13, 2022 at 2:04 PM #1852760In general things seem much better but to concur with OP, the popup on every page load/reload gets old quick.
April 21, 2022 at 9:13 AM #1798498Good work.
Daz really needs to enforce namespacing from their PAs. Hard to enforce external stores though (renderosity) and dodgy stores like Renderhub.
December 14, 2021 at 12:55 AM #1757657Still waiting for the male counterpart to Bonnie. Then again, if he does appear he'll have pecs and abs to die for.
December 3, 2021 at 5:29 AM #1754203Some pretty nice poses - some really quite natural. There is a wierd thing going on with the eyes though - I'd probably leave those alone next time, can fuck up expressions. Also not a huge fan of high heel poses, those should be adjusted by the accompanying high heel pose of which ever shoe used.
November 20, 2021 at 3:23 PM #1750622That's the wrong error log. The correct one is found by going to Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File.
The correct file is called log.txt and is in the same folder as cloudLog.txt (for me: C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4)
November 20, 2021 at 3:14 PM #1750621To clarify, it's vram, not ram, that is causing fallback to cpu. Iray (not Daz) does not release vram completely after each render - the only option is to restart Daz (and therefore iray) to flush vram. Nvidia aren't particularly interested in optimising for hobbyists; they'd much prefer we all go out and buy 48gb rtx 8000s.
Scene Optimizer is most useful when you can't normally render a scene using the gpu at all. Use selectively eg background objects that don't need full details because they don't occupy enough of the final render and/or will be out of focus. That said, if you're rendering out to 1080p and you're not doing a closeup of a subject then you might get away with 2k textures for your characters. Even 3k will reduce texture overhead by over approx 45%, compared to 4k.
November 9, 2021 at 8:49 AM #1747113Have a look under Pose Controls > Legs > Flex Quad (left and right) to see if the limits have become disabled. I've seen issues where, for some reason, limits have been disabled which can make those morphs apply in the hundreds of percent.
