HA I just read the post, for someone who took the time to fill out their profile requesting "They/Them" pronouns, they certainly did post a phobic rant. Given they spoke of their phallus at such length (pun intended) I can tell they are binary at least. Guess they didn't realise that people are talking about them because everyone has to rubberneck when they drive past a car crash, and seeing it occur in slow motion on the internet ... even better. I don't have a dog in this fight cause I've never DL'd their stuff, so won't spin my wheels too much in this thread, only truly wanted to say that whoever user "SubjectNether" on DA is gets a tip of my hat for posting a rebuttal that is sure to leave a mark.
@D0gg0d
it's called Data hoarding, I thin we are all victims to some level 🙂 have spent too much time on the Data hoarding Reddit thread myself discussing archival methods.March 21, 2024 at 1:01 AM #2065142I never understood why people put in requests for the models. even for free I never used them. 🙂
February 11, 2024 at 7:10 PM #2058105I guffawed at that one as well. Definitely someone who puts in more effort in Photoshop than the time it takes to actually post the product. 🙂 I'm just waiting till one of the other downstream sites just uses the spoof image instead of the official vendor one.
December 24, 2023 at 1:10 AM #2050008Harry, you never know.. some here really want to print a 36" Mamba .. so it's kind of on topic.. I would if I could.. but as a side bar, has anyone found any good services to send models to since Gameprint decided they were not able to rip off users as much as they thought they were going to be able to? I've looked at Shapeways but it's just not as cut and dried due to the way Daz bundles their models. Anyway.. not to go to far off topic just curious if anyone else has a full color printing service they recommend
December 20, 2023 at 1:24 AM #2049168The thing I've noticed before is a number of these full software installs are basically pulled from CGpeers and then posted here for the points, when I look up the posts from there the comments show all the flags and how many warnings there are about the specific infection. That's not saying every retail pack is infected but research it before installing, or as mentioned used sandboxie or an isolated VM, or just a spare HDD to install and check first.. for example looks like the last clean upload of keyshot pro on cgpeers was 11.2 Win a year ago.
December 19, 2023 at 2:19 PM #2049000Cookies are a red herring, possibly another embedded identifier. I don't think Renderhub is advanced enough to have an individually assigned id applied to the product that would identify the account that purchased each product, Daz maybe but not the etsy of 3d modeling like renderhub. a while back I was looking at the hexidecimal of rendered images to see if DS placed any kind of ID that would identify the user account of the installed studio used to generate the image or the serial of the gpu etc. More than likely the sales of some products are of such low volume that they can extrapolate the account that bought the product within a certain time frame of when it showed up in the wild.
November 18, 2023 at 4:47 PM #2043217Same, some mega pages take forever or just hang. switching exit nodes always fixes it immediately.
November 12, 2023 at 4:36 AM #2041794Only a matter of time before it all turns into "Joan Is Awful".
November 11, 2023 at 6:13 PM #2041675As mentioned before. long running renders, like if you are doing a series that will take days, will generate massive heat inside a small enclosure, also argue all you want about how comparable they are to desktops, there are plenty of videos on youtube running side by side specs of laptop gpus vs the same model desktop version, some even using Daz specifically to do the comparisons, and the laptops do come in slightly slower. BUT, if you are travelling for business and stuck in a hotel over a whole weekend and just need to get your fix.
November 11, 2023 at 5:05 AM #2041556Just to confirm, after you rolled back, you reloaded animat2 and it is working again?
November 9, 2023 at 1:24 PM #2041130just curious .. did you upgrade to 4.22?
November 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM #2039796I approve, I never liked that any regular joe could see everything I've purchased.
November 2, 2023 at 2:18 PM #2039602I can't really find where they have listed what the selling points for the new version are.. I just launched one of my machines and it automatically started downloading the update, so I killed it quick. Just wondering if there's some kind of selling point other than getting directed advertisements, like 4.21 had vdb support, seems the Daz thread referenced earlier only discussed a minimal improvement in load times but a lot of other problems. I think I'll pass. Also, is there a specific repository for the older versions in case I need to back out? or just search the blog for a Daz version 4.21 posting etc??
July 10, 2023 at 11:44 AM #1996347July 6, 2023 at 2:32 AM #1994224there are a LOT of pretty realistic voice to text options, check out IBM Watson, Azure voice and AWS Polly, you can add on SSML mark ups to add voice inflections or even have the AI take a breath between sentences etc.. some are incredibly creepy how realistic they sound.
