Personally, I assumed it was implicit it that other people wouldn’t point farm off fills. But I accept if you share stuff on the Internet, it’s probably gonna get shared around, we are pirates after all. This sort of thing happens all the time.
But one of the reasons I just fill requests and not post on the blog so much anymore is all the tracking that goes on nowadays. If you share something you’re taking a big risk. I’ve been banned from sites, and had angry emails threatening legal action. So I’d rather share with people who have lots of points with requests as they’re less likely to send all the files public amplifying the risk.
So I do feel you shouldn’t re-share other peoples stuff because you’re not taking that risk.
I’ve a 3090 too. Nowadays I enjoy using FillaToon so 6-10 seconds per render. A couple of hours in Iray.
I'd happily delete all my messages if it wasn't such a massive ball ache. A delete all button would help a lot. The mail system wasn't designed with the new request system in mind.
That sucks dude. I don't know anything about reliability. I've had hhds last for years and SSD's fail after months. It's seems very random.
I'd recommend getting back ups. I copy everything indentically on two drives. Just in case I lose everything.
Well this is a first, renderotica have completely blocked me from paying for suspected piracy. I can't find a work around. New account, a VPN, girlfriends card, nothing works. I detracked all my shares too so I'm concered it's something new on the malware PDF date stamps front... Perhaps I missed one though, althought I doubt it.
Strangly the account works, I just can't pay. Something to keep a eye on if they've rumbled our workaround.
24 hours, to stop scammers making fake fills. Basically if you recive a fill which doesn't work you have time to call a mod. It happens a lot.

I disagree with this idea and I've had a fair few reports were it's been a local server problem and my links have been fine. Also 500pts might be a lot to newer members and I'd rather the site be a more forgiving friendly place than one that punishes people for mistakes.
@Bavor I do the same thing. I'll support vendors that I like if it's on the blog or not, but will sometimes download it first on here to see if it's any good. I do the same with video games, the pirate version or game pass verison is almost like a demo. If I like it I'll pick it up legitimately.
I personally don't think (some certain) vendors lose as much as they think to piracy. The prices are so high most of the people downloading wouldn't be in the hobby at all in my opinion.
Personally I think going after the vendor who is probably behind all of this doesn't matter either way. I don't think Disney or Warner Brothers are gonna care that the people reporting belong to a file sharing site. How are they even going to know? I actually quite like the content this person puts out so I think it would be a shame, but it's kind of inevitable that all the game and fim asset content will be taken down eventually.
The issue is that the site is vulnerable to anyone who wants to can follow the links and report every post and every picture. In The future it could be someone who falls out with the mods, or a rival site. So the discussion is how do we adapt and get round it.
