I got a warning for refilling an item when the original filler never said do not share it. I always respect the wishes of fillers that say do not share. But can fillers allow their items to be shared? I thought it happened a lot on the site.

Is there a rule against it? I can't find it. This is from the FAQ.

    "Sharing items
From time to time some members may request that an item they are willing to share, not be posted here on ZoneGFX or elsewhere. Whilst these private shares are allowable, members are encouraged to keep the majority of their uploads public for the benefit of everyone. If you are part of a private share however, please respect the wishes of the sharing member."

Do I understand that wrong? It says "respect the wishes of the sharing member" and I have. I have never shared an item when the filler asked not to share. When the filler doesn't care if the item is shared then what is the problem? Why did I get a warning?

@night there's a general understanding, I think, that whether the OP has expressed a preference or not, you just don't do it.

I had a different understanding. I thought the site was about sharing items and if a filler says do not share then respect their wishes. I have seen fillers say do not shaer and others who do not. The ones who don't I thought are ok with sharing. I have seen some say refills are ok but don't post to blog or another site. I thought the filler would put restrictions on it if they want.

I posted when the messages were purged and I said then I use my messages to check if a filler did not want their item to be shared. I always check before filling an item.
    This is my post

A mod replied to me but did not say I could never reshare ANY items.

To get a warning there has to be a rule against it. I can't find it in the FAQ.

@night Not a rule, just an unwritten understanding that, if you're not the original filler, you don't do it. It's an ethical code of sorts, if you can have such a thing on a pirate site. If it's just about trying to bank some points, you don't need to rub another man's rhubarb to do that; there are 126 pages of Dead Posts just sitting there.

The message I got said "after receiving this warning, any further violation will result in your account being suspended."

If it's not a rule then I should not get a warning or a ban because of it. Warnings and bans are for breaking the rules. If I'm not breaking a rule then why am I being punished for it?

My understanding is what I quoted from the FAQ. When a someone requests the item not be posted respect their wishes. I have done that and that is in line with the rules as far as I can tell.

A while ago the rules were changed to allow any post not public after a certain time to be postable unless specifically request not to.

I dont recall ever seeing a rule that says a public post with a dead link cant be refreshed. I actually thought it was encouraged. Its in the wild after all.

Years ago they seemed to be mostly fine with rebundling posted content under artists packages. That eventually stopped.

I suggest you take the fkit route and just skip filling them if its an issue.
I've no idea why its a problem all of a sudden unless I/we missed some reason why its not ok to share pirated material on a pirate site.

Is there a rule about waiting? I read the FAQ and Request FAQ I don't see in the rules any of this. What am I missing? I have been here when filling was done on the forum. It has not been a problem until now. It seems like a mistake.

Can a mod please reply? I replied to the mod who gave me the warning but they have not replied.

    My warning should be reset.

    @night
Well, since you decided to bring this matter into public discussion, I’ll explain our current position in detail. This topic has been raised many times before and has always been a point of contention.

First, let me clarify why you received a warning:

On March 30, 2026, you received the item (KuJ Basement) in the requests section from @ruinedclaw.

    Screenshot

Later, another user created a duplicate request, and you chose to fill it to gain additional points (April 6, 2026).

This specific action is the reason you received the warning.

ZoneGFX is not a simple aggregator of pirated links — it is a community. Even though the site deals with pirated content, it operates not only on written rules (since it’s impossible to cover every situation), but also on basic standards of respect toward all members.

If a user did not explicitly state that they don’t want their content shared, it does not mean you should earn points at their expense. We consider this behavior as point farming, which is why your warning will not be removed.

It’s also worth noting that @RuinedClaw is an active user, visits the site daily, and prefers to refill requests for items he has shared himself.

We will be updating the rules and FAQ soon to make this clearer and avoid similar discussions in the future.

There are many legitimate ways to earn points:

    1. The easiest and most reliable — contribute: purchase an item (for example, during a sale), share it, and receive both points and appreciation from the community.

    2. No money required, but effort needed — the “dead posts” section contains hundreds of pages. You can repost and earn hundreds of points per post.

    3. Contests — a newer system. Not the easiest path, but you can earn points by placing in competitions.

    4. Donations — you can also receive points by supporting the site.

I just replied to you in a PM that I tried to contact you first but did not get a reply. I'm only trying to get an answer to what is going on.

The rules need to be clearly explained. If we are not allowed to refill no matter what then that should be said in the rules. I read the FAQ before filling requests to know the rules and I have followed them.

    FAQ

    Request FAQ

If a user is ok with sharing the items then why is that a problem? If RuinedClaw said do not share because he wanted to fill himself then I would have respected his wishes. I see lots of fillers say that and I always do what they ask. No problem. I have this item https://zonegfx.com/requests/silent-hill-2-prison-room-daz3d/ on the first page going fo 8,000 which has remained unfilled for over four months that I have not shared because the filler said not to share. I am following what the rules say to do.

I have also seen fillers say not to post to blog or other sites but that filling requests is ok. The filler should put the limits they want or none if they want. If they put none then that should be ok.

I visit the site daily too and I have been here for a few years.

I do have a solution to this. Can you put a option to allow the filler to select "private" or "public" for sharing? Then there is no question what the filler allows. If the filler selects public then it is ok for the community to share. I think we can all agree this makes the intent of the filler clear.

It sounds like one way or another there needs to be a small but important change made to the refilling process.

Trusting that everyone understands the "conventions" of a site like this is naive, as evidenced by the fact that someone who "visit[s] the site daily and [has] been here for a few years" somehow never managed to pick up on them. This would be even more the case for brand new users. I agree, then, that if we expect these "conventions" to be upheld as norms they ought to be codified in the site's rules for everyone to see and acknowledge.

One simple option, IMHO, would be to add wording to the posting form that states that unless the filler explicitly states that it's OK to refill/repost an item it should be assumed that you do not have permission to do so. In other words, make it clear that the default is "no sharing", and put the onus on the filler to say otherwise.

Thank you. It should be in the rules somewhere if this is something they do not want to happen.

I was here when filling was done on the forum. With the new fill system I don't use the forum anymore unless I have a question or I am looking for something. I don't see the discussion about conventions. I read the rules and followed them when dealing with items.

I gave my suggestion to the mods for a "public" or "private" setting that is required to be selected to post. The default is unselected and the filler has to choose one to post. A mod said they would look into it.

After we finish the last update pack for the Contest system, we will rewrite/reword/update the current FAQ and Rule pages to solve these problems, BUT just like the others said @night, until the filler explicitly states that it's OKAY to re-share/post their contribution, consider it that the filling PM has a DO NOT RESHARE note in it.

Thanks I got it now. ^_^

In my PM Bann0r said they would look into adding my suggestion of a setting allowing refills or not. Like the "Schedule Blog Post" setting but with the two options to choose from. The default is unselected and require one to be selected to complete the fill. The filler is then aware of the choice they are making and if they allow refills there is no issue.

Maybe give EXTRA points if fillers allow refills to encourage sharing. ^_^

In the mean time I will PM fillers if they do not say and add mods to ask permission from them before sharing and add "filled with permission by" if I refill.

My thoughts on this. I have been doing this for going on 28 to 30 years and have always asked the share not be posted anywhere. I use too share a lot and was going after requests that had not been filled. I was buying a lot of the new content that was high $$ to buy and would gladly share it. Then I noticed that after I filled the request 10 minutes later it was all over the internet this is not new it happens all the time. So I stopped going after the expensive items and sharing them I also stopped sharing for a while just like now I may fill a request and it is still posted else where after asking for it not to be.

I understand that people think it's ok to share even if asked not to that is why a lot of shares go to trusted people and it does not get reposted else where. A lot of request remain unfilled but they have also been bought by members but because of them being reposted not shared. I think that the respect seems to be ignored these days. I am old school and remember how it use to be sharing but that is not the case now a lot of times I feel that Zone has been my home and have made a lot of friends here.

I have also seen that people do not really read to not reply in a share and if you want to say thanks don't post in the share send a separate pm saying thanks. Yes I don't share like I did but the reason I already stated. I do donate to the forum when I can.

I am very thankful to have a place to do this. Thanks to Hunter and the crew here at Zone!!

Personally, I assumed it was implicit it that other people wouldn’t point farm off fills. But I accept if you share stuff on the Internet, it’s probably gonna get shared around, we are pirates after all. This sort of thing happens all the time.

But one of the reasons I just fill requests and not post on the blog so much anymore is all the tracking that goes on nowadays. If you share something you’re taking a big risk. I’ve been banned from sites, and had angry emails threatening legal action. So I’d rather share with people who have lots of points with requests as they’re less likely to send all the files public amplifying the risk.

So I do feel you shouldn’t re-share other peoples stuff because you’re not taking that risk.
