@kinkygr
That’s exactly right. More than anything, it’s what I constantly bitch about. Things that would only increase their sales and reputation. Their sales strategy defies common sense. A review thread would only improve their models. At the very least, an image of the mesh and/or basic information of their models would only be useful. Making their characters hard to customize so you’ll buy their morphs doesn’t increase sales. The same people would still buy those morphs and characters. Removing those restrictions and making them more compatible would only help enthusiasm, usefulness, increase their presence and grow their community. In this regard, it’s one disappointment after another. When it comes to their customers, they can’t see the forest for the trees in trying to be exclusiveJanuary 22, 2022 at 10:22 AM #1769322@frank22
Yeah, you got me there. Haven't seen a cockroach since I was a kid. Nasty little shits and hard to be rid of. I'll take my frozen toes over waking up with those buggers crawling on meJanuary 22, 2022 at 8:17 AM #1769281I agree. For objects and add-ons such as hair, it would be helpful. Unlike Unreal, Daz's character models are an attempt to be proprietary as opposed to what's best for being creative
January 22, 2022 at 7:40 AM #1769274I've never used that plugin. If you are not using an Nvidia card, DS uses your cpu and your system memory to render. Textures can be very large. When your RAM fills, it then uses virtual memory on your disk drive, very slow and when you run out of that DS can crash. DS also holds the scene in system memory even if it uses your video memory until the scene is rendered.
January 22, 2022 at 7:21 AM #1769272As for characters, they all use the same base Genesis 8 Model, so the poly count is the same depending on how much it is subdivided.

I did a reworked more mature version of her that I didn't like as much and, long story short, now I'm working on 2 versions when I have time. Plus, I got side-tracked working on an old Hellboy character I've never finished.Just snowed over a foot here and I've been blowing snow all week. I got nabbed into helping someone dig their car out as I was going to the mailbox in my sandals and got frostbite, all the while trying to finish a house, blah, blah, blah. This week I've spent my downtime streaming Dexter, playing Totalwar Warhammer II, and sobbing

"Are you using layers for your sculpting? Nose – eyes – lips"
Due to DAZs low-poly import restriction, I generally sculpt morphs onto G8 base and progressively build up a character in sections until I get a result in DS that I'm satisfied with. First head then body, details such as lips etc. Definitely not the best way ideally. Sort of like painting with my offhand and trying to be as satisfied with the result.January 12, 2022 at 5:18 PM #1766323@joelj It's funny how completely oblivious we are to each other's sporting pastimes in this "small world" when it's such a huge part of our local cultures.

"it’s because we’ve stunk it up for years in football but have always had great basketball to hang our collective hat on."
No, no, I was only being cheeky. Of course Kentucky wants to talk basketball with their legendary tradition.To avoid confusion and as much as I love the moniker Georgia jon, It was my pop who was The DAWG in the family, which by default only makes me half Bulldog. Mom and I are Carolina Blue. Mom is the biggest sports fan of all and usually wins the pool. She's still uncanny at picking NFL games. I grew up watching, playing and going to games with them and it's always been part of our lives.
My favorite sport has always been college basketball and just like Kentucky, we like to talk Carolina basketball around here too. 🙂 I used to take vacation in March just so I could, well, you know. From Dean Smith to Roy Williams and now Hubert Davis, I'm feeling pretty good, even though Kentucky got us by what, 30pts?
January 12, 2022 at 12:09 AM #1766114Why is it that Kentucky is always anxious to talk basketball? Thanks for the support @hocko. I was beginning to think I was alone on this planet, and good luck this season. Looking forward!

Yes they should and the sad thing is that, for me, this happens far more with DAZ products than Rendo. DAZ I think, like video games these days, depend too much on updates. It's damn lazyJanuary 8, 2022 at 11:09 PM #1765193@ethiopia
Of course. I’m one that bitches the most, but if there’s a solution to current Daz software then he has the motivation to give an answer to what we’re bitching about. I have found solution after solution to DS’s shitty code from Richard. Till DAZ fixes the software what other answer is there? Besides, let’s be clear, as I’ve already said in this same tired thread, along with complaining about the same old code with you, we are bitching about a luxury.January 8, 2022 at 11:04 PM #1765191OMG good eye yngvarr!
