If any that is true, that will be awful!

If anyone from 'Rosity is reading this, just bear in mind what happened to Syyd when she trusted them! (See @moffet 's post at the top of page 3 on this thread]. :0E

Nude promos won't last at Raz 🙁

Are any of the artists publishing with their real names or just using handles? What's to stop them from signing back on with another store using a different handle?

They have to use real names and banking info if they want to get paid.

Yes, but one store wouldnt usually ask their competitor for a vendors real banking info, and if they did, I doubt they would comply and supply it!

Imagine you like selling Mitsubishi cars and decide to sell Honda to pick up your income.
Just so happens Honda starts outselling Mitsubishi 8 to 1 and you're not really a Mitsubishi dealer anymore you're a Honda dealer with Mitsubishis on the lot. How would you go back to being a Mitsubishi dealer... Stop selling Hondas I imagine.

I cant see how having what I consider a better product on your site helps sell your product. If anything it should funnel people into Daz unless you're just hardwired into Poser. One reason I think pulling AI into your arena is a double edged sword.

Maybe Rendo is tired of being a Daz Store front and will try to go solo and hang its hopes on ugly models.

Just read this from 3DLoki on the daz forum. Might explain what is going on a little.

Rendo has recently dropped both "Exclusive Vendors" and "Exclusive Products" stating "it was too hard to police if products / vendors really were exclusive"
So now all of the Exclusive vendors are free to sell elsewhere.

There was also changes to the vendor "rankings" that some people were not very fond of, but I won't get into that.

I expect more of the names you know and love will be here / returning here.

There is a thread over at the 'Hub' forum that may allude to some of what may be behind some of this.

@themuse Hopefully things will settle to a new equilibrium then, if that is all it is. :0/

That would explain the exodus, as the hidden reason was also probably to suppress the "exclusive vendor" bonus :D.
All the artist that were "exclusive" felt cheated by this cut in their share and had no reason any longer not to also sell at daz3D.

I expect more of the names you know and love will be here / returning here.

Yep. My guess is over 20 artists will be on the go. But after this first wave, there may be a second wave of departures by artists that are (justifiably) worried by the future of rendo.

They got Truform? Ouch.. that.. is really going to sting Poser users. I don't mind shopping at Daz, but if they move there, they won't be making versions for Poser anymore :/

Just really, really hope they don't get ShaaraMuse3D!

I've never paid much attention to RH's forums but went there this morning at @sameensanche's suggestion. Comments from former vendors and artists are pretty telling and show a company out of touch with sellers and customers. The video,

while not specific to the present exodus, points to the Poser/Rendo problems I've been mentioning for a decade now.
That said, the present owners of Daz (Tafi) aren't exactly making a lot of friends with stupid short-sighted promotions like NFTs and the recent AI.

@Ethiopia i did the same and holy crap, Rendo is pretty much a hellscape compared to DAZ (which is saying something).

@scoobydude51, I feel that their hugerist, biggest and most gargantuanist problem is their unholy and unwavering allegiance to the Poser religion. If they made poser 100% compatible with Daz formatted stuff they'd be a viable alternative and a force to be reckoned with. That film lays it all out neatly.

And the killer is, how the hell can they not see it? How can they NOT see that Dawn and La Femme 1 & 2 are a joke compared to the Genesis figures? Aren't they aware that most of the Poser faithful are still using Vicky Four? It's not like folks aren't saying this (over and over and over and ov...) in their own damn forums.

    It's not Poser per se.
It's their darn averseness to conflict.

They want to give "every mesh a chance" and hate any, even the most constructive critic.
They also see Poser figures as actual human beings, and think that pointing out any flaws would "hurt their feelings". (Or at least those of that figure's fanboi/fangurls)

They are completely unable to understand that a good Poser figure not also has to look great out of the box, but that it also needs to be efficient and versatile.

I could easily morph LF2 into the spitting image of Vicky 8 or 9, but she'd still be a crappy figure, because the convoluted mesh geometry is neither as efficient as even the worst DAZ figure's mesh, nor as versatile.

And then there's the rigging. Hardly anyone knows how to properly rig in Poser. The creators of LF2 definitely do not.

It's a shame, because TECHNICALLY, Poser would be more than capeable of supporting a figure that could be on the same level as Genesis.

But they would have needed to start with this a long time ago.
Vicky 4 already incorporated Studio only features. (That's why she was revised a few times)

The Poser bigwigs were warned about this, but they did....nothing.
Genesis should have been a big, fat wakeup call, but again they did...nothing.

All they did was to let any halfwitted nincompoop who felt like it churn out one sad, poorly crafted mesh after the other.
No knowledge in mesh design or Poser rigging necessary.
Just make it cheap or even better, free.
Our forum chills will then do their best trying to shame the rest of the sheeple into "supporting" this new figure.

Yes, given how things are now, full Genesis compatibility could probably keep them afloat a little longer, but to be honest, it would actually just prolong the suffering.

I'd rather see someone pulling the plug and Poser becoming abandonware.
Maybe then it could survive as a cool, little "vintage" proggy, being fixed and developed further by a small group of enthusiasts.
Heck, I've even thought more one once about dropping a few thousand $$$ to develop my own Poser figure, based on actual 3D scans and a professionally designed mesh, myself.
But this would literally be throwing pearls before swine.

And actually, V3 and her "Family" are the perfect meshes for my work, so why should I re-invent the wheel?

Personally, I actually like the typical "Poser" look, and I don't try to make my figures really fotorealistic. Correct proportions, better bending, giving them a "personality", yes.

But if I wanted true realism, I would probably just use Blender. (Or at least Blender and Studio)

Poser is KAPUTT, thanks to ignorance and hybris.

But I don't see a bright future for Studio, neither. They will probably be around a lot longer, though.

Even Blender and the "CGI PROFESSIONALS" might suffer from AI, as it's already capeable to convincingly animate still pictures.
Probably in the next few years, we will be even able to create our own Blockbuster quality level movies on our own computers.

Maybe Poser (and Studio) can survive as their own "artform", like there's still people around drawing with an actual pencil or painting with oil paints instead of using a stylus and photoshop.

    Oh, well.
    Sorry for the rant.

I guess it's time to find a proggy that can download the Poser forums, so at least all the historic and technical info they amassed over the years won't get lost completely.
Any suggestions for a good website cloning software?

Part of the problem with Genesis support for Poser is that the Genesis figure is so intricately dependent on features in Daz Studio. Take Genesis out of Daz Studio and all you have is a mediocre figure! But I suppose a mediocre figure is better than.. a really BAD figure, which is what Rendo is currently peddling XD

Poser isn't actually a bad software per se (Project Erogenesis proved that), it's just that the people who really knew how to sqeeze it has long left. The people in charge today don't seem to realize what a gem they actually have and make weird priorities..
