Once again, I'll put out there that a tiered sharing system is the best way to go. Those who share by filling requests or posting to the blog get first whack at newly shared content (maybe 7 - 10 days). From there, every week, another level of members gets access to the content. Use rank or activity on the forums (e.g. General and Contests) to discern what level folks fall in. In the end, new or inactive members who haven't shared new content get the stuff in a few weeks. If the shared stuff starts showing up at the leech sites sooner, then compress the timeframe between when the levels can access the shared stuff. As it is now, when things appear on the blog, they are posted on the leech sites minutes or a few hours afterwards anyway.
March 21, 2023 at 12:35 PM #1944317@eelgoo I think you are missing the point , it is to encourage ppl to share this site runs on the point system so y not take advantage of that ? by offering points for stuff that none of the other sites have or not in the wind already .
and we all know what sites to look at when hunting for pirated (shared) stuffMarch 21, 2023 at 12:43 PM #1944318@wtfthis is this item out in the wild? Just wondering if any of the leech site guys were part the requestors who got the item.
March 21, 2023 at 3:44 PM #19443731st off - quite likely that the 'pro' referred to is not a pro bundle, but should actually read per, as the list has a number of single items that the bounty is still offered for [@Monk ???]
Had a quick look and could not see any bundles. There used to be another thread
https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/permanent-request-for-fresh-releases-points-awarded-per-item/
Which is now closed.
A pity as this was just the place that has been discussed for any new items - albeit for items that were classed as New i.e a month or so old.
It would have been a minor addition to have opened this up to the 'not in the wild' items.March 21, 2023 at 4:04 PM #1944379The way I see is the most reliable for sharing is there are items that come out on a certain date (pre-post?). If you are a filler then after you have filled ALL the requests then add it to the coming soon posts right?
March 21, 2023 at 8:27 PM #1944444@deadpool209977 The "Scheduled" posting system (as it currently stands) has a few annoying issues, however.
First, the scheduled delay is set at 7 days, and there is no way for a filler to adjust that value. I like to post to the blog 14 days post-filling, particularly with new releases, to let the PAs earn their money from store sales. It would be nice to see this become a user-configurable number of days.
Second, scheduled posts show up on the blog mixed in with all the ordinary posts, which teases visitors into thinking the item is available, only to discover that the download links "will be available after xxxxxx". This can also confuse (and sometimes annoy) people who requested the item and had it filled for points, only to see it "show up on the blog" a day later (even though it won't actually be available for anyone to download for another 7 days). I would prefer to keep these "Upcoming" items separate from the main blog to avoid this confusion.
Third, scheduled items can get forgotten after they've been buried by 7 days of new blog posts. There's no "remind me when this becomes available" feature, and there is no way to search for items that have just come out of the scheduling delay. The "Upcoming" tag seems to have to be manually removed by a moderator, but it would be nice if this could then be replaced with a different (unique) tag when the item comes out of scheduling, e.g. "Nowavailable" or somesuch, that we can search on to see these items. Have the "Upcoming" tag automatically be replaced with "Nowavailable" when the scheduling period expires, and have that tag automatically removed 7 days later, for instance.

I posted this in a sticky eons ago. I don't know whether it is feasible or not, but would solve a lot of problems
"WOULD AUTOMATING REQUEST/FULFILLMENT Help solve the problem?
Would it be possible to develop a script/program so that when you join a request, you enter your points distribution name and the amount of points that you are offering. The number of total points on offer could then automatically be display by the script in the posts title.
When somebody fulfills the Request, all the person supplying the request would have to do would be put the asset location link into a field and click “send”. All participants would get the asset link AND the points on offer would automatically be deducted from those participating account (regardless of whether they were online or not).
As suggested in another thread. Participant would have the option of opting out and removing their points offer… as long as it happens before the request is attempted to be filled.
This would remove a lot of tediousness involved in fulfilling requests and all the “thanks, points sent” e-mails and tracking that folks bounties matched their offer.
Also, the system could track the amount of points somebody has, so if they don’t have enough points to meet their obligation, they would get a “XYZ assets has been fulfilled, amount of points offered exceeds users balance” and they wouldn’t get the link until their balance could support it.
ALSO, the site would automatically be included into the distribution thread, sot that 7-10 days, the asset link would be able to be put on the blog and made available to everybody. This may require the site to add moderator/helper positions that solely place assets into the blog.
The point system has probably been crucial to the success of the Zone over the years. While I am not a fan of a tiered system... I am sure there are areas where there could be improvement.
I think that another reason why folks might be reticent to post to the blog right away is the run-around with take down request at hosting sites. That, plus, the longer you wait to post, the more 500, 1000, and 2000 private request roll in. For every "500" point single request that comes in, you'd need 20 folks to download the same asset.
After an asset has been posted to the blog and "falls off" the front first couple of pages, its point generating really slows down.
A quick fix might be offering 1000 points for just posted an asset in the blog (I mean, hey, you get 100 just for loging in each day, so you'd think providing the sites life blood would be more valuable than just the 25 per download...
Or, how about an Asset poster gets 250pts for each download site they add to the asset? If you posted a new asset, and included mega, google, gofile, bunkr, and anonfiles links, you'd get 1250 points for posting. That helps to make sure that stuff sticks around a bit longer
March 21, 2023 at 9:10 PM #1944454Sounds like you wanted to use the system but need it to be fixed according to your points of interest.
They made a section specifically for dead post and maybe they can set up the scheduling system in a similar manner.
I know the admin people here are trying their best to maintain the site.
If you have some good suggestions for making a better scheduling system it would help out a lot.
A lot of sites don't take kindly to suggestions but they welcome them here as far as I can tell cause I have made a couple suggestions that took place on this site (not to mention it was already in the works lol!) but I got a reply very quickly and that's what mattered to me.
Who knows make the suggestions and give them time to look into it and we may have a better system on that.March 21, 2023 at 10:01 PM #1944463@redflag @ethiopia, I am in the process of developing exactly such a plug-in for the site, with @Hunter's enthusiastic approval. It's a Request Management System, basically, that will eliminate a lot of the more tedious aspects of the request process, handle the points bookkeeping (with escrow system), the link sharing, and provide a mechanism for reporting bad fills, configurable auto-posting delays, and much more.
I have been working on this off and on since December between client deadlines, and hope to have it ready for testing within the next month or two. I'm happy to go into the details of how it will work, for those who are interested, but don't want to hijack this thread 🙂
March 21, 2023 at 11:28 PM #1944505Nice @queensknight
With Schedule Posts - I wish there was more options, such the option of a number of days and scheduled posts losing their upcoming status once on the blog. I generally don't use it, for those reasons.

@queensknight
Holy cow that is awesome, of course, I don't want anyone accusing you of fixing the site "according to your (my) points of interest."It sounds like that would generally make the site better for everyone, and not just a selfish desire of my own... wow!
Once that is in place it will be awesome. It can't be a small tasks though, as I would imagine that a whole lot is involved (How assets are posted in the blog and how request are made are also factors).
As I mentioned above though, and what I hope can be addressed as well, is rewarding blog posters with points for using multiple asset hosts. This will help to combat takedown request AND provide incentive to post on multiple asset hosts
Lastly, I hope there will be some way to "Buy queensknight a coffee" to compensate him for his time.
March 22, 2023 at 7:40 AM #1944652Sounds like something that has been needed for a while now.
Don't know if this can/will be included but can someething be worked out that would also prevent requesters from offring points and then ignore all requests for payment AFTER they have already been given the link?
[Enforced points transfer, or a ban - good either way].I can see you re going to get some attention now this 'project' is out-of-the-bag... 🙂

March 22, 2023 at 11:08 AM #1944784Thanks to @mxyzptlk for informing me that the issue is now resolved for the specific upload in question, the files have already been uploaded to the blog by another user recently.
It would still be nice to see if there can be some community consensus on uploading requests after they are filled.
March 22, 2023 at 12:01 PM #1944801@queensknight Thanks for developing the addon! I feel that discussion of the addon should be considered on topic, since it discusses a potential solution to the problem that I encountered.
I think the implementation used on a number of torrent sites could be a good reference, since that system is very well refined and understood. A request can be created by any user, who immediately places the points they are offering into an official escrow. Other users may then vote on that request with points, which increases the amount of points that a request filler can get by filling it. The points from each user are tracked and publicly displayed, and when a request is filled, all voters get a PM.
The request page is also searchable and displays a list of all current requests, so as to reduce the likelihood that a duplicate request is placed, as well as allowing potential fillers to sort by points and focus on the items most in demand by the community.
Of course, there could be abuse of the system, possibly by falsely filling a request. On most private torrent sites the signup is highly restricted and invite-only, so this is less of an issue, but since zonegfx has public signups that could cause some problems. In that case request filling could be restricted to members with a certain number of blog posts as well as an account age (or whatever criteria is appropriate), or alternatively a request fill needs to be manually approved by the requesters before the points are released from the escrow.
March 22, 2023 at 12:49 PM #1944839@fuzzy3000 @wtfthis, the escrow system takes care of those issues. When a Requestor offers points, those points get deducted from their account immediately and placed in escrow until one of these events occurs:
(a) The request is filled; or
(b) The offer is cancelled; or
(c) The offer expiresRequesters can edit or cancel any of their offers at any time, up until the request is filled, in case they want to re-prioritize their commitments. They can also specify a number of days their offer will remain active before expiring, at which time their points will be automatically released from escrow if the request remains unfilled.
At the other end of things, the Filler receives the escrowed points when one of these events occurs:
(a) All of the Requestors click a [CONFIRM] link to confirm that the item was delivered as promised; or
(b) 24 hours elapses without any of the Requestors clicking a [REPORT] button to complain about the fill; or
(c) A Moderator approves the fill after resolving any complaints or issuesBasically when the Filler supplies link(s) to the item, they get sent immediately to all Requestors, who are then asked to either [CONFIRM] or [REPORT] the validity of the fill. If everyone confirms it to be a good fill, the escrowed points go to the Filler's account. Alternately, if nobody complains about the fill within 24 hours, it is presumed to be good by default and the Filler gets the points.
If there is at least one complaint about the fill, however, the points remain in escrow until a Moderator resolves the issue. The complaining Requestor provides an explanation that the Moderator can look into, and the Moderator can:
(a) Cancel the fill, keeping all points in escrow and returning the Request to active status as if it had not been filled; or
(b) Approve the fill, closing the request and releasing the points to the Filler, presumably after any issues have been resolved; or
(c) Refund an individual Requestor, in exceptional circumstances, when the fill is otherwise approved (e.g. "I accidentally requested the G9 version, didn't read the description carefully enough, thought it was the G8," etc.). -
