    @ethiopia, agree with #1, disagree with #2. I'm not sure what a "private" niche site is tho. But if someone requests an item from a small site and someone else has that item, I don't believe it shouldn't be shared. We're pirates.

    It sounds like @queensknight is willing to make zone better. Wonder how hard it would be to implement a set of rules for a tiered system to access the blog.

    Of course, in the end, this is Hunter's site and he seems to like it the way that it is.

    @queensknight I think this is a great idea but how do we handle
    these kind of people that are on this site seems this site needs to have a cleanout of people like this and I know of a few people who also have mulitable accounts and are using them by signing in everyday then passing the points to another account and using them to get requests filled ?

    @Itsmenotyou
    I agree with you on the free points for signing in that would prevent this kind of stuff and also the dead post thing I think should be deleted and if someone wants some older stuff why not just have them request it to be uploaded its getting anoying at all the reposts being on the main page !!

    @adelasia, I agree that members who violate our policies should be expelled and banned, particularly when it's a blatant offence like that. I think only @Hunter has the power to do that, however, so sending your evidence to him would seem to be the quickest way to get it dealt with.

    That said, preventing someone from just coming back with a different email address and IP and creating a new account here is the harder part of the problem. The same offender can be back here with a new account in a matter of minutes, with no clear way to link him to his old account.

    I suspect the "official" answer is that the best we'll ever be able to do is monitor those other sites and try to catch violators exactly as you just did, and then play whack-a-mole with them.

    My "unofficial" answer would involve embedding a tracking code that uniquely identifies each shared copy, which would make it simple to prove which Requestor leaked the file. I've seen a few vendors try this, but their methods are trivial to spot and remove; I have a more invisible method in mind that should be more effective. Obviously I'm not going to discuss it openly here 😉

    Some other sites just ban the use of multiple account to avoid this kind of problem, is there a reason we aren't doing that?

    @hanzo, I think the issue is that there isn't an easy way to identify that two accounts belong to the same person. If they're registered with different email addresses they look like different users. Even if we looked at IP addresses, they could use VPNs to appear to be coming from different places.

    That said, people who do this sort of thing tend to out themselves by their points transfer patterns, since they're typically creating multiple accounts to pool their points. Look for regular patterns of points transfers from a set of accounts to one "master" account to identify the feeder accounts.

    In the longer term a bit of code could be written to monitor points transfers for this sort of pattern, but in the meantime if you suspect a user of doing something shady with multiple accounts, just take a look at the user's points history and look for the pattern.

    @adelasia
    I've seen the same things. These guys are playing tricks on us ~ I could suspect they never buy and really fill things but just leech and post what we filled to the blog and other sites to 'earn' points or sth. by all means ~~
    I've filled a few stuff recently then they were on the blog shortly less than a week, i.e. it must be account A got them and accout B posted them... I could've digged out the clues but finally I did not wanna waste my time on these leechers and things~ but just fill to those active fillers and my friends for mutual benefit and ignore any request from suspicious account.

    @hanzo

    I also don't think there should be a reason we're not doing that...

    I think even if someone uses a vpn to change ip between accounts, over a long period of time, a mistake can easily happen where they use the wrong ip on the wrong account or just forget sometime to use that vpn.

    And if they never make a mistake then that's too bad but it would at least highly reduce the problem of not only people using multiple account to get points but also other like probably the one in adelasia exemple, who could be using multiple account to pass items to himself.

    I usually fill after a week unless I forget which can happen, we all have lives, I do notice that things don't get filled though.

    I won't fill it a request if the person has previously had something from me and not sent the points they offer. Never happened until recently, so if that person does request again, I will kindly point out they still owe previous points.

    @Ethiopia I like that idea.

    But I would prefer posting to be anonymous

    one of the sad things about the site is that when u share something that has not been requested you only get 25 pts each time it is downloaded but when u download something it costs u 50 pts shouldn't it be the other way around ?

    Not sure if closing the request forum is the right thing to do. An alternative to when something is posted to blog, there could be the option of a person posting an item as an anonymous poster.

    One problem what we can't could control is the posting of items to other websites. Maybe raising the price of items on the blog for some people who aren't new and don't contribute in the forums. Also, I agree about getting rid of the daily points.

    I am pretty sure the amount of releases would be significantly reduced without request forum.
    In my case for example,I don't spend a lot of time browsing different stores so I would probably have made about 1/3 or less of my purchase because I actually found out about the rest of them on the request forum.
    And for people with few points that want to earn some points, its also a good way to gauge the interest in an asset. If you post an item that nobody cares about, chances are that you will barely make 500 points from that post.
