agreed @eelgoo
So hunter has to make some decisions:
Leave things they way they are/were or change things.
If he changes things, then he has to decide who he wants to "please".
Only hunter knows his pecking order of value here.
Is it traffic? That lends itself to keep the masses happy.
Is it the content? That lends itself to the uploaders.
Is it the community here? That lends itself to prolific forum posters.I would most definitely keep those who donate actual money in the way of point buying happy. They are forking out actual currency. More power to them.
I wish hunter luck. But the best part is, he's willing to try different things to see what works and make changes accordingly. Who can ask for more than that?
As has been said many times here over the years, if someone doesn't like it (regardless of what hunter decides), they can start their own sharing site and do it the way they want.
July 6, 2020 at 5:24 pm #1612808July 6, 2020 at 5:55 pm #1612854There are at least a dozen sites, not including Phoung's shitty sites. But almost all of them get their content from here. I have yet to find anything in the DAZ universe that isn't here first compared to the other free sites. Without Zone, there would be almost no free sharing from what I can tell.
That message seems to get lost on a lot of folks here and on the other sites.
Personally, I'd rather go back to torrents and a handful of content-favored sites like KAT. Give what you can, take what you need. Things seem messier now.
July 6, 2020 at 6:01 pm #1612857Actually, I still think this & similar sites are a first class resource.
I would never go back to torrenting.
Too slow & too unreliable.
@plebby Thanks for the much needed chuckle! 🙂🙂
July 6, 2020 at 6:10 pm #1612861@barcgwcc first you call people parasites not worth to share 3d-items many hundreds and thousands of people are sharing here, later you call them not worth to share this planet they're born into, later...
If you want know check out the history about where this thinking leads to.
Ah yes, and I am pretty sure you're a hypocrite who uses exactly these sites you're talking about to download your items without using your collected points here, at least I couldn't find a single download in your history what seems very strange in the same way downloads here can't be found on mostly all the other high and mighty people here talking down on people leeching points for visiting this site.
And once again, you can't drive a daz3d site with these 100 points per day and things will not change for those people, you guys just fu*ked the little guys often from very poor countries with shitty pcs and shared internet connections that live with maybe $10,- or less per week. Congratulation!

Zemlon's legacy is fully restored, with the exception of the following assets
+ a bit stats for ownres this assets
– WW II AIRPLANE (P 51 D Mustang) - 55 Sells (Found thanks to the big-eyed @legolas18)
– Kriegsmarine for Universal Sailor - 45 Sells
– Red Army – Sniper (for M4) - 41 Sells
It looks like they are still very relevant)Check it took some time… Insomnia is generally a harsh thing) As result i have this spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLt39vBBfVCrCquEyxnAdJLUWRCOYIPBfp5QXPQS1Oo/edit?usp=sharing
#ZemlonsSharesMatterJuly 6, 2020 at 6:45 pm #1612870The term "leechers" is more of a technical one than an insult. Seeders/leechers has been around for a long time.
I don't agree with the drop to 25 without other measures being put in place. One of my suggestions was to add points for forum posts but, as Hunter pointed out in a personal message, what if people spam the forum with bullshit, get enough points to buy stuff then their posts get deleted so they go into the negative.
This whole situation is a bit damned if you do and damned if you don't. I found out about Zone after being burned by Phuong and I'm glad I'm not over in that mess anymore (though I still get monthly "invoice emails" that I can't seem to switch off).
I enjoy the community here and I'd love to see something which encourages the community more, whether it's posting art, running contests, voting in contests, etc.
I haven't been too active lately, not for lack of funds but for lack of time. I've just finished my Bachelor of Science literally yesterday so I'm hoping to be around here more.
It's a shame to come back into the fold to so much negativity but I know that @hunter and the other admins here are fair and willing to try things out to see if they work and change them if they don't work. It's happened before with the 20 points to uploaders and 100 points site visit from the previous 50/50, and it'll happen again. Breathe and we'll be fine. Zone has been here for 4+ years, it'll be here for many more to come.
July 6, 2020 at 6:50 pm #1612874@oddytemper thanks for the heads up but unfortunately I don't have any of those items.. it seems old stuff and being a very new user on daz I'm using G3 and G8 only..
July 6, 2020 at 7:56 pm #1612886@eelgoo, nah, i will keep my silly stuff exclusive ;). Maybe when i get better at it, i will start sharing them, for now it's just a hobby and some look crappy up close xD
July 6, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1612887Well, bear it in mind for those you are really happy with. 🙂
July 6, 2020 at 8:08 pm #1612894Our congratulations, @nemain. At least someone will be a human
You @legolas18 damn right. It is)
@antharaes Art is a tricky thing ... At any moment we can say that people simply does not understand in high matters)July 6, 2020 at 8:30 pm #1612896It would be very easy for someone to get the 'wrong idea' about those of us who actually spend real money to buy points since I read through the entire previous thread, and a decent chunk of this one, before it was even mentioned, leaving me thinking WTF? about that point.
No, I don't upload and don't often participate in the forums. I have been very time-limited for the past 2-3 years and the time I do have I don't want to spend doing that. Instead, I visit daily, get my points, and have purchased points several times in the past. I prefer to try before I buy, will download several items, then actually buy the one I end up using to avoid getting stuck paying for shit content, like I did last month when I bought a figure that was supposed to be G8 compatible, but where no other clothing items G8 or otherwise will fit to it.
Yes, I log in daily and collect my points. Yes, I use them AND I buy more when I need them. Label me how you will. That doesn't bother me unless that label is accompanied by several paragraphs where the poster characterizes me, someone they do not even know, as not only community scum, but scum in general. Their words say much more about them than they do about me, but it's still unacceptable behavior for someone who is supposed to be a member of a "community" and unacceptable that they remain a part of said "community" when they attack others in such a personal and unfair way.
All the reduction in points will do is to curb my visits which will, in turn, deny whatever ad revenue might be gained from said visit as well as future point purchases. As things stand now, it's won't even be worth my time to visit and will ensure that I won't participate in forums or content exchanges in the future when my time constraints ease.
Aside from that, I certainly do not like the fact that other members can openly see my point history. As far as I'm concerned, it's done of their damned business especially since, in my case, it's also a record of actual financial transactions which are nobody's business aside from me and the site admins. In the previous thread, the OP copied and pasted the point histories of other members to make a point. What would stop him from conveniently removing the line items indicating I had actually PURCHASED a share of the points he was so rabid about, just to make his point? So, on this site, what other parts of my profile are public? My Inbox? My email address? Hell, my PASSWORD? My point is that other members should be able to access only the parts of my profile necessary for the social functions of the community! I build websites as part of my job and have NEVER in all my years of doing so ever seen a valid justification for exposing a user's details to that degree! I'd like to hear ONE valid reason why public disclosure of my point history is vital to the functioning of this site or community! Right now, it simply allows other users to play 'policeman', then judge and jury based on that information. If my upload-to-download ratio is an issue, that's an issue between me and the site admins, as the site admins are the only ones with the ability to effectively do anything about it. All anyone else can do with it is use it to bitch, judge, defame, deride, then bitch some more and cause needless drama everywhere! THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE!
The time will soon come where my time isn't as in demand and I'd hoped that I could be more involved here. But as things stand, I'm not so sure that's going to happen and I'm definitely going to be thinking twice before clicking that Buy Points button again! It won't be a big loss, I'm sure, since this "community" will have one less 'scum-ass' to put up with when he hits the road and takes his measly chump change with him.
July 6, 2020 at 8:48 pm #1612898A person can attack without access to current information. It would be a desire. It will be a little harder, but still possible)
It seems to me that buying points to a reasonable extent does not have much effect.
In addition, what to keep the site on?) Advertising brings funny pennies. There are no links with monetization to the jump. EtcThe cause of burning peoples is more related not so much with ordinary users and freeloaders.
The reason for the conversations is more likely due to the fact that people contribute here, and someone converts it into their profit from outside, on their sites. But what to do about it. This is how the internet works. Everything that gets here becomes common)
It remains only to close and suspect a neighbor in the first case)
July 6, 2020 at 9:10 pm #1612899Public infos
- In the case of uploaders - list of assets
- In the case of downloaders - count of downloads and social activity statsI think we can always find those who want to help with uploads among active newcomers.
For example, I would also like to help with uploads, since this is an opportunity to do at least something useful for the community ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗps In the case of Zemlon, the story helped a lot to restore the lost assets)
July 6, 2020 at 9:50 pm #1612907@nemain leecher is a technical term with a bit of bad aftertaste, but leeches and parasites is very explicite. And I really miss the term re-posters.
But what I don't get is that the original thread started, pointing at people re-posting items from here on other sites and earning money or other things.
And that the main culprit was supposed to be people with accounts coming here every day to earn 100 points. But the thing is, how many accounts do you need to get all the items from here every day? And are the many accounts selectively purchasing 2 items every day or are they transferring the points to a single account that makes the whole purchase???
I honestly doubt it. Either these guys are sharing purchased items to get enough points to buy the rest of the newly posted items out or they're paying for more points or they are just re-posting items from some sleazy pay-sites.
And if you don't believe me, check out 3d-stuff. Pandora/Kat is the member there with the highest point score and he/she got them all with just re-posting items from the zone on 3d-stuff and the other way around (occasionally). He/She probably purchased a few items in the meantime with Gift Cards he/she got for selling his/her points to other members, but other than that everything she'd doing is leeching on several sites and re-posting items and believe me, he/she wouldn't care even if she'd get zero points for site visits here.
But no, these things are all but forgotten. Nobody here cares anymore if anyone is running a copy site from here or re-posting items, all that is important right now is that those of us that are not sharing new items should suffer, no matter what. Nobody cares for the actual problem.
