Interesting how this contest stands out from the others.
It seems to get people riled up. I think it may be that being told how we have to do something in order to be right. This may be in the very framework of the contest and may be a reason I dont place. But Im going to do it how I want to do it regardless. I've seen 1 image here I consider better than mine at first glance. Id have to study on the others.Then again its "my" personal taste. I could care less if its divided into 7ths rotating around 2 vertical axis. If it helps ill take a ruler to my image and post the mathmatical computations.
@hawkeye , what you stated about people who vote for their own entry was/is completely uncalled for and unnecessary . If you feel the need to insult and bully, you should find another forum.
On the topic of voting for ones own work, so what. If someone was running for POTUS, why would they vote for another candidate? If I enter an art contest at a show, why on earth would I vote for another persons work above my own? Seriously. That doesn't even make sense. I owe no loyalty to anyone but myself.
Ok...you sound like someone who votes for the self a lot. You should know that i do not believe in the voting system as we are told how it happens. To me it is all a front.
The politicians may go through a voting process, but only under the threat of blackmail and losing a rung in the ladder.
So they are not really voting for themselves, they are voting for someone else because someone else threatened them otherwise.
Now even these vile people have more ethics than someone who would enter a competition and vote for themselves under no such threat from anyone whatsoever.
Please, do me a favour all you who want to vote for yourself when submitting your piece, imagine if all entrants had the same mindset....what would be the outcome?.Personally, I don't like the idea of voting for myself. I like looking at other artworks and finding the things that make them beautiful. And sometimes, I have to say that others are better than me and voting for myself wouldn't be fair at all as it removes the chance for another member to gain votes. Looking for beauty in another artist work is an humbling process and can really help you improve a great deal.
well the outcome would be the same since we are voting on several pieces AND people that arent entering vote also.

I find it difficult to believe you would vote for another person if say $6,000,000 US dollars were part of the contest.
As much as you think your personal opinion matters Im surprised you wouldnt make seperate accounts to vote for yourself. Im getting an internet shovel cause the BS is getting deep.Talk about motivation for actually starting to render and to quit being distracted. That's a nice booty. I'd have to recuse myself from judging as I am biased to any artwork featuring an Asian character. No disrespect to those other three entries, either. They are all fascinating and thought provoking- as Art should be. That scene by @d0gg0d is just a little to familiar for me. Remember her, @Locololo?

@hawkeye I actually don't care what you think I sound like. It doesn't matter. I'm not going to argue with you about who to vote for and note vote for. I also don't care about your feelings of the US voting system. It was an example.

@miarka I appreciate your reasons, but don't sell yourself short. There's nothing unfair about having confidence in yourself.Aside from my graphics card basically warning me to stop using DAZ for the time being, this thread and contest is the very reason I've stopped entering the render contests. A lot of you folks are sucking the fun and enjoyment out of something that used to be really fun.

That saddens me to hear that, since the contests are at a loss without you entering them. I’ve always loved your art.
Perhaps all of us independent hosts, in our quest to come up with original ideas, are to blame. I’m starting to wonder if we would be better off going back to a panel of judges, or just one judge as was the case with Schmitty.
