They honestly aren't releasing anything worthwhile for G9 when it comes to characters, I miss the different types of characters that V4/M4 had.
With G9 we got the strong high def details without the large amount of different types of personalities to actually be able to utilize all of it.Also some of the clothing being sold on the big sites are actually ripped from video games and refurbished for Studio/Poser. I've recognized a few, bought one cowboy outfit only to find out it was from a horror cowboy video game. But yes, there are so few quality outfits being sold for the newer generations. And the stuff being sold for G9 are even more lacking in movement morphs, details, etc.
Another gripe I have is that many of them are no longer made so that we can hide certain parts of the outfit or that the outfit is one piece instead of being layered. So instead of a separate shirt and jacket it's one outfit that you cannot hide the surface of the parts you prefer not to use.
Are there any women's outfits that aren't straps or lingerie anymore? Like how many different types of skimpy clothes can there be? It seems like ever day there's another lingerie set with the same look just a different name.If only we could have the creative minds from the V3-M3 or V4-M4 years.
Even the characters are all looking the same, especially the females. Where the great creators at?
I'd be happy if some of these creators updated their outfits from the past and sold them than offered anything new.If one of the mods would like to host the files on my behalf, I have a few items that aren't here that I would love to share for this. And when it's all done they can go ahead and post them up on the site for anyone who misses it, I'm not looking for points or anything.
If the person who posted them hasn't responded if you sent them a message or they are awol,maybe message one of the moderators and see what they say? I know that some of the dead posts do get reuploaded.
Would you be able to repost the image? I know a few of them have feathered hair styles so maybe I can help.
If memory serves correctly, I remember that some time ago the site had a crackdown on multiple accounts before. It is frowned upon here and can lead to a ban.
Also I've been here a long time and have secretly donated a few items to the blog, donated money when I have been able to, but I am not a very social person so I do not post or engage in conversation often.
I would assume that many are the same way?btw, I do enjoy the community here. I've gotten nothing but help and had some fun conversations with quite a few members here.
The members here are the kindest bunch of "pirates" I have ever been around. 🙂For some reason you have to load the model that came with the add on and not the base crow model. I don't know why but when I tried to pose the base figure it did that, the one that is in the add on folder worked just fine?
@Frank21 Every one of their new figures was born from the wish to make money, of course. But this time the release just seems desperate somehow?
@eelgoo Me too! They make a G9 to G8 clothing/character converter than I will buy. But until then if all they will offer are G9 items in the marketplace I will just spend more at the other sites.@Legolas18 Yes, but that is the figure that I am looking for. One that has anatomical details that make the figure look good and unlike putty. Not a simple change in the definition of the skin texture.
By now I was hoping that Daz would have moved on from making their new models just a slight iteration of the one before, but here we are. It isn't like they are making models for a video game or a movie that are going to be used once, they are out there pushing realistic 3D human models that have, in all honestly, changed very little from years before.
If they are going to continue to throw out a new "figure" every few years that is not the least bit compatible with their previous versions they need to have a figure that is going to stand on it's own.This figure just seems like a desperate release to get people to jump back in and buy everything anew. I'm not falling for it, give me a natural looking model that looks nice instead of better defined skin textures alone and then I'm interested.
Please do not think that I meant to disregard your render in any way, I only pointed out the one thing in the picture that has burned me since M4. It's that whole upper torso, I just cannot get past how it always bends that way.
Sadly I think that they(Daz) are going to fight any such backward G9 to G8 scripts. Something about the way this figure was released just seems a little off to me, almost as if they want to compel the customers to forget their old figures and just jump straight into this new one. Lately, a majority of the new outfits are G9, and the G8 new releases are dwindling already. Even G3 had a bit more time to slowly ebb away.
It doesn't make sense to me to have an outfit in the store made exclusively for a brand new figure that has so few assets, when there is already an established model that is still making money. Why go all in on one and not want the revenue that just adding a G8/8.1 version of that same outfit would bring?
Unless Daz is pushing this for their own reasons?Have people just stopped buying G8 suddenly?
This would be nice, I'd love a script to be able to do it myself. But would appreciate it just as much if someone were to convert them and post them here.
Not buying into it. And I love how they are trying to convince people by pushing out G8 to G9 scripts instead of making the two figures compatible out of the gate.
Also, per the image above, they have not fixed that horrendous bending/stretching or the lack of, that has plaqued the upper torso area in their models. Just look at the way the chest muscles and the shoulder muscles do not seem connected and do not move as they should. It's why I try not to do any really prevalent bends with the upper torso unless I am ready to do a whole heck of a lot of post work to make it look right. Apologies, but he just looks like he's got saggy pectoral muscles. And play-doh instead of skin and muscles where his arms join his torso.
One would think that for such a revolutionary figure, those obvious mistakes would be something that they would tackle.
Sure, sure, with the help of other programs or scripts one can fix that problem. But how much will they charge for that? Lol
G9 is just slightly upgraded skin on a mesh that hardly fixes the G8/8.1 problems and I honestly don't see the reason to upgrade.
