I haven't tried using the pose converters yet, but the G3 poses can have some really weird results when used on G8, especially with the arm positions. Other than that, I find the G8 are really a step up from G3.

I know the feeling, I messed up my library a month ago and discovered that my backup is such a mess that I can't find the stuff I need to reinstall. So now I'm currently in the process of going through my backup folder and fixing all messed up archives and converting everything I can to dims. I've only got 276 GB to go out of 284 GB. Once I'm done that, I'm going to have to reinstall my entire library. This was all because I decided I needed to delete one item that I didn't want... I figure I should be done in time for the final season of GoT.

I found a comparison chart for cup sizes US vs UK. Apparently the chart I used for figuring out the G3F cup size was UK since the US doesn't have GG. UK vs US Bra Sizing I must have miscalculated somewhere since this chart shows a difference of ~7 inches between underbust and bust would be G in US sizes or an F in UK. I seem to recall reading somewhere that you need to add or subtract 2 somewhere to get the correct results... Why does women's clothing need to be so damned complicated? How the hell can you have a size 0, size 00, and size 000???

I am at a loss to understand how mentioning that there is an issue with the daily points means we are noobs. Check your points activity, I imagine that you did not get points for Site Visit today as well.

It seems I also did not get points today. My last points activity is 20 September, I can't recall if I logged in on the 21st or not, but I definitely did not get any today.

AMD is also releasing their Ryzen 7 series soon which will be their "budget" Ryzen cpus so with the 3 and 5 series already out and the Threadrippers coming out soon as well, I imagine the FX and Phenom will be limited to existing stock pretty quick. Usually this results in some really good prices as vendors look to clear the obsolete stock from their inventories. My main machine has been running a Phenom X4 (unlocked to a 6 core - gotta love ASUS's core unlocker!) for going on 5 years now without any issues. I've upgraded my GPU a few times (currently running with a GTX 770). I was happy with that as the only game I ran into I couldn't run at max has been Ark. That was before I discovered Daz Studio. Now I doubt just a GPU upgrade will satisfy me, although it wouldn't hurt. I really need to do a new build though as the only part of my rig that isn't underpowered is my power supply, I upgraded that to a 1000 W when I got the 770 as it needed 2x6 connectors.
General opinion: For the price of a single GTX 1070, I could get 2 GTX 1050 Ti GPUs. From the point of view of rendering, which would be better, a single GPU with 8GB RAM and 1920 CUDA cores or a pair of 4 GB cards with a combined total of 1536 CUDA cores? To me it seems intuitive to think that the single card with more cores would be better, but I seem to recall seeing something to the effect that having two cards share the load makes for faster renders and that the amount of GPU memory is more important then the number of cores.

@ Mystic Fortune: I would recommend taking a look at the Ryzen processors. They provide better performance with lower power consumption and therefore less heat. The ASUS Prime A320 lists for around 60 USD but only supports a max of 32 GB DDR4 (2x16) while the Prime B350 is around 90 USD but supports 64 GB DDR4 (4x16). Both the above boards only have one PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot. Newegg.com currently has some open box Prime X370-PRO boards for 150 USD that are SLI ready. I'm not familiar with using a non-matching GPU as a PhysX card but I will assume it requires a second PCIe x16 slot. The AM3 and AM3+ boards are being phased out and it would suck to be stuck like I am and have to replace your MB and RAM a couple of years down the road just so you can upgrade your CPU.

Not to mention that making plans for a backup venue would just give TPTB a head start on shutting that one down as well. OTOH, I doubt we're even on their radar. KAT was shut down due to the whining of the movie and music industries. Software and 3D asset piracy isn't even in the same ballpark as far as the feds are concerned.

“In June 2013, in sync with the release of the Genesis 2 figures, DAZ released Victoria 6 as a Genesis 2 character.

In June 2015, DAZ released Victoria 7 as a Genesis 3 character and is the latest installment.”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_(3D_figure)

Just because the last two ones came out in June 2 years apart is a coincidence:

    Victoria 1, February 1999
    Victoria 2, May 2001
    Victoria 3, July 2004
    Victoria 4, Late 2006
    Victoria 4.1, April 2007
    Victoria 4.2, February 2008
    Victoria 5, October 2011 (Genesis)
    Victoria 6, June 2013 (Genesis 2)
    Victoria 4 for G2F, June 2013 - I didn't realize there was a remake of the original!
    Victoria 7, June 2015 (Genesis 3)

While the releases are generally 2-3 years apart, it seems that at this point the developers have yet to reach the limits offered by the current model so I seriously doubt there will be any Victoria 8 or Genesis 4 in the next 6 months let alone this month. Hell, from what I've been seeing, Genesis 2, Victoria 6 and Victoria 4.2 are still having new content created although on a smaller scale when compared to G3/V7.

In my opinion, the main limiting factor delaying a new release would be hardware limitations - the current models can tax the limits of even the most robust consumer PCs and I can only surmise that the G4/V8 models would be beyond anything but purpose built industrial machines to handle using anything approaching their potential.

On the other hand, with the new X299 and X399 motherboards and Intel's X series CPUs, and AMS's Ryzen and Threadripper CPUs coming out on the market over the next few months, it shouldn't be too long until the current models become the equivalent of 8 bit sprites - the Gigabyte X299 mb will handle 4 GPUs (both SLI and Crossfire compatible) and support 128 GB system RAM or 512 GB (!!!!) if using Registered DIMMs!!!! These will be consumer machines although not exactly cheap at first but within a year or so, What was a top of the line gaming/rendering machine today will look like a C64 in comparison. So we might see V8 later this fall, but I think it will more likely be next spring or summer.

I have to agree with Tucker Pope - planned obsolescence is something that really bothers me and I feel is a shady business model. If and when Genesis 4 comes out along with all the new figures that come along with it, I hope it is because of new improvements and improved utility rather than because a bean-counter says it is time to force people to spend more money on products they don't really need. Mind you, based on how Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 are designed to be backwards compatible (in fact, a lot of the props and clothes designed for G2 actually work even better on G3), I don't foresee this really being a huge issue as long as the backwards compatibility is retained for at least 2 prior generations.

I'm not sure where the OP got his information regarding the release of V8 being this month since it seems to me that G4 would need to be released first and there is no indication from any official site that this is planned anytime soon. I admit that I am very new to the 3D rendering community, but I sincerely doubt that any company would release a new generation of their flagship product without some sort of hype and teasers in the weeks if not months prior to the release. I'm going to mark this release date on my Mayan calendar.

It is a great little tool, isn't it? I didn't create it, the original creator is acknowledged in the readme.
