Just another example of PA's not really knowing what they're doing. SO many assets are horribly optimized (using TIFFs and PNGs where it's not necessary, not compressing JPEGs at all, etc etc etc.) Certain vendors are much worse than others.
November 4, 2024 at 5:38 PM #2100333That's fine, no one is trying to force you to upload somewhere else. If you want to use a suboptimal host for your own reasons, that's certainly your right. If it works for some/any/most people, great for them, and you.
It's just strange how personally some people take this, "It works for me, if it doesn't work for you, sounds like a SKilL isSuE!" No, it's actually just not a very good host, for a variety of reasons, but if you like it, by all means continue using it. It's not a personal criticism.
November 2, 2024 at 5:51 PM #2099806Bunkr constantly has issues, and there are zero valid reasons to use it over any of the other anonymous/encrypted hosts. Beyond me why people keep convincing themselves otherwise, but it's annoying wasting points trying to download something, only to have constant 502s or other errors trying to download from shitty Bunkr. And yes, I've tried adblock on/off, VPN hopping, VPN on/off, etc. It's a trash host, full stop.
August 28, 2024 at 6:39 AM #2088400That's a good product, IMO nicer than dealing with geografts. That said, it's obnoxious to *have* to render at subD 4 to get decent results. Not much to be done about it, tho.
July 25, 2024 at 4:34 PM #2084333@Warrant63, I had a request that was removed (I did not add the SKU, my mistake) but it seems my points offered are still missing from my total. Is that just how it goes, or do they come back at some point?
July 25, 2024 at 4:00 AM #2084240Yeah, TGA is fairly common, and I get that for folks buying something they want (or want to feel like) the highest quality, imperceptible though it may be. TGA just tends to be so needlessly large, for zero real benefit. Either way, 10 minutes of work and I had it all tidied up for my own use ... and, it was free so I can't complain either way. 😉
July 24, 2024 at 10:36 PM #2084207handy for sure, and much appreciated! some feedback, if you don't mind: if you're going through the trouble of converting, it wouldn't hurt to optimize (at least the textures) a bit. The last post was ~1GB as posted, because it's full of both textures that weren't used, and textures in TGA format, which is needlessly big, especially for items like this that inherently aren't suited to close-up renders. I converted and losslessly compressed the image textures, and have the size at about 15% of the posted one. Just a thought.
May 31, 2024 at 5:41 PM #2077581For anyone who has tried this plugin - the ZBrush version specifically - have you had any luck?
So far, once I send the file back to Daz from ZBrush, via GoZ, no morph gets saved. Dialogue pops up as usual, hit Accept, morph just doesn't appear. Have cleared the GoZ cache, doesn't fix it. Am I doing something wrong? I've made and imported a million morphs from Blender, so maybe I'm missing something obvious with the ZBrush/GoZ connection?
May 13, 2024 at 4:52 PM #2074727Has anyone tried the ZBrush version of this? The author said Daz hit them with a copyright strike on Artstation and pulled it down.
April 5, 2024 at 9:34 PM #2068762Most of 3Dpuk's models are just stolen from Shinteo, anyways; and they are *all* (and I have 95% of them) entirely mediocre. Absolutely the least possible effort you could put in to them. What gave me the biggest kick, was him accusing Daz of stealing his morphs. lmao. Yes, Daz has literally zero proficient artists to tap, so they stole from a mentally unstable teenager who has no access to the HD morph plugin, and zero artistic and technically ability, to launch a major product. Genuinely delusional, I hope they're able to find professional psychiatric help.
January 31, 2024 at 3:43 AM #2056257@Daishi, thanks boss. Excited to give it a go. Interested how it compares to sending all my stuff to Blender after posing, etc.
January 30, 2024 at 10:09 PM #2056206Can someone ELI5 how I actually download this from Git? I swear I'm not a complete moron, github/git-anything just makes me feel like one. All clicking on the files does, is navigate me down the file tree ... how do I download both the base folders?
October 31, 2023 at 5:39 AM #2039269It's VERY slow. As in, I have fast internet and it still takes multiple minutes to load a page, or it errors out. Sad.
September 29, 2023 at 7:28 AM #2031704The new system is great so far! One question I had, was how it works if you miss a request being filled. There doesn't seem to be a way to find the fill-er, nor to add on to the request despite it being filled.
October 4, 2022 at 3:57 AM #1873771A *lot* of the PA's are just lazy, or don't know any better. I run all jpg files through JPEGMini, cuts the file size down with zero noticeable degradation. And the ridiculous and unnecessary amount of png and tiff files I generally convert to jpg. I can't tell if PAs just think file size = quality, or if they genuinely just can't be arsed to do better.
