@Frank21While I first encountered this site, I thought it was like most other sites that I frequented, and I treated them similarly I found out it was different once I signed up however, but yes I did have the wrong impression at first, but I have since learned otherwise.
But nevertheless, thanks to this thread, I now know more about the site better than even when I first signed up.
@Bofadeez: No, your comment was quite reasonable, so it's not even an issue as far as I'm concerned, as you expressed your concern with my comment with both a respectively assertive response as a long-time member and as someone who usually takes the civil route whenever there's a conflict...
This being the actual source for shitty reposting sites is incredibly valuable information, as I now know to hunt down these sites in order to avoid them in the future.
I admittedly should have made the connection earlier, especially as an avid video collector, as I always bristled at shitty reposter spam channels that pop up on YouTube, and the like, as they are never the same quality, which is not unlike with the unofficial Daz/3Dprog ecosystem in that you don't get the original, just the adware/pup/malware-infected version... :^P
I never looked into those sites too deeply as they have no real community anyway, as they're pretty much spam sites, so I admittedly treated them (Even at this site before I signed up.) as simply repository sites, I had no idea that this site was the actual source of spammer/reposting sites strewn all over the net...
Not only that, but I think I'm gonna do a bit more digging in the forums in order to find out which sites to avoid! As spam sites, equal a pure path for malware infection and other nasty bits that you find online that make it into your computer!
Thanks for saying so Frank21 yeah, I try to make my default for being online to never take anything said personally, and in times of conflict I try to always default to objectivity, and focus on the issue instead of the person, I find it's much easier that way!
Also, I hold everything I do and say online and offline as my responsibility, meaning I take full responsibility for what I say and do, no exceptions, for good or ill, it matters not, mainly due to the fact that it is not the norm online/offline, as too many people usually rely on excuses and cop-pouts instead of dealing with the fallout of their actions head-on!
Only a fool maintains their ignorance when new information contradicts their own, I refuse to do so, as it's incredibly counter-productive for everyone involved!
@Bofadeez I found your post very informative, I now have a better idea how this site works, as most sites of this type usually don't have its members themselves purchase the goods offered to their sites, so admittedly, I lumped this site along with others that I used to frequent...
I don't mind being proven wrong about this, however, and now I'm able to better adjust my opinion about this site, and how I interact with it, but yes, I initially made my comment because I hate it when sites like this fall by the wayside due to what I just described from my last comment.
So, it was my mistake for lumping this site with others that failed, I was under the wrong impression that much of the content was from personal collections freely gained from other sites, as that was pretty common for a lot of pirate/trading sites, so I admittedly was under the wrong impression...
As I usually come to these types of sites because I don't own the pieces offered here, and that's the only way I could get them, other than paying for them myself, which would defeat the purpose of even coming to pirate sites, but I have gained a bit of respect for what you guys have been doing here as your method is self-sustaining!
Because if people are buying and sharing the goods, that is pretty unique for a pirate site to have the members themselves purchasing/supplying the site, rather than just have administrators/staff supplying goods, which I used to think with this site, so thanks for clarifying this site for me, and I now know what to expect for myself and others going forward!
I have no idea why it's a good idea for people to "pay" for anything on a fuckin' pirate site!?
The entire purpose of a pirate site is to get a product meant for purchase for FREE, I mean, IF we were to buy ANYTHING, it would be the products that we would have ordinarily bought instead of going to a pirate site to begin with!
Equally absurd is making said pirate site an exclusive, "Only VIP members gets to download for free because they earned the right" convention... ⇐ It's absurd because it negates the very people that keep the site relevant...
And while lurkers are NOT the site's "best earners/VIP members" for their arbitrary artificial income, it is indeed they, whose sole reason for even coming to the site, is TO NOT PAY FOR THE THING THAT IS FEATURED ON THE BLOODY PIRATE SITE TO BEGIN WITH!
Sure, maintaining a site's costs are a vital reality that the site's owners must adhere to, but that burden falls on the site's owners, and not the people that the site itself is trying to attract as members, and if you make the point of entry's requirements too steep, then they'll simply go to another site…
I have been a member of countless underground/pirate content-trading sites that failed because they wanted to get rid of lurkers and rely exclusively on members who are the site's main content providers, the problem of that logic always comes out the same for the site…
A once-flourishing site that has been reduced to nothing more than a small group of content providing VIP members ends up trading content that they already have, so it's no longer a content-sharing site, but a small group of the same 20 members with no new content being traded…
So, they decide to make a site to trade content open, but then the same 20 members get angry because they feel that it's not fair for them to be the only ones providing content, so they make it an exclusive VIP-only restrictive site, and ends up chasing off lurkers which make up the near-entirety of the site's visitors!
Therefore, they end up repeating the same situation needed for a content trading site to begin with. And so the cycle continues again, and again...
The fact of the matter is that you cannot force lurkers to become content providers, as they come to content-trading sites because they don't have content to begin with!
Fuck renderosity, it's the single WORST place to buy anything Daz/poser related!
For me, it will not allow me to update my account info until I buy something, and it's in my cart, yet I can't FUCKIN' buy anything, because I don't have the properly updated account info!
*(I spent a week or so trying to fix the issue, yet their inept staff could not do jack shit about it!)
I am somewhat glad that I'm not the only one that has this issue, as even one of Daz's members are also fed up with them as well!
So yeah, hopefully all vendors of note leaves that idiotically run marketplace, which is not surprising that it's based in Tenn, as computer illiteracy is PROUDLY defended as a virtue!
Renderosity is a shit site… You can't even change your personal details from your account, you actually have to fuckin' check out in their shitty store! I refuse to buy anything from that store anyway as there's a shit tonne of mediocrity there as they have no curation for their products whatsoever!
Daz has a superior shopfront, yet their forums are run by assholes that play favourites!

100% agreed, as far as free services, they are the best, you'll get no argument here!
I was hesitant about getting the mega downloader as I did not trust it, as the majority of downloader progs are pure filth, but seeing as you've given me positive feedback, I'll definitely give it a go!

I used the word “shitty” as an accurate descriptor, nothing more… But I do admit to having a bad habit of the over-use of exclamation points, I also over-use them when making new folders as well…

As SOON as K.H.Image studio's ultimate bend morphs release for G9 I'll be able to use G9 properly, as vanilla G9 anatomical bends of G9 are abysmal on their own, but will look much more realistic rather than the noodle-kneed G9.
