The more you give / participate the higher the rank I think.
Waiting for 'Useless Eater' to become a rank sooner or later 🙂So, under this reasoning some of us should be a lot higher rank than BLANK. Not that I really care. I never really got into all the forum rankings and whatnot. Even years ago when it was the latest thing. To me the whole idea that someone would make it blank as some kind of punishment is hilarious. Like:

I think the site is glitchy, but that is to be expected when you are surviving from outside funding to keep it going as a pirate site.
Otherwise, you would have it run like DAZ or Renderosity, or any other site that is run by a company.
It's no big deal to me. Just weird that others have theirs, but people like you, myself, Inverse and some others I have seen don't have them anymore, which has me wondering why.
@josie - And your question on how anyone can be downgraded? Well...there are some in here that many of us don't trust, and there are a few even as moderators. Probably didn't like us not falling in line and we face the consequences for our actions. Its another way of being censored. This is why I keep telling people, there are MORE THAN ONE TYPE of Slippery Slope, and just because you may avoid one, don't mean you may not go down another.
It's like the chutes and ladders game that you can't fine anywhere anymore, cause the cult prohibited it ever being sold again. Why? Cause it told truth and how what is all going on is based on Good Vs Evil.
A christian agnostic made that game. And the true winners of that game were the ones that finished last, cause the idea of the chute, was the slippery slope, and the idea of the ladder, was the LONG HARD ROAD FOUGHT, ie taking the HIGH ROAD.
What @gohanf22 said. All of it. In the near future critical thinkers are banned. Noticing will also get you banned. Speaking out against lurking evil will get you banned. Hell!, just living might get you banned. The Orwellian possibilites are endless.
If the Rank thing is a glitch so be it. I'm not fussed but noticed it missing so had to make a joke of it. Or did I make a joke......... 🙂
I honestly don't care if it's a glitch or it's intentional. It's just funny to me that if it is intentional, that someone would think that it matters. It doesn't. It's as meaningless as buying an NFT. If it's not a phycial thing, it doesn't matter. I don't get paid more in my job for having a forum rank. People can get caught up in all kinds of hopium about the digital world, or how "AI is improving our lives" when the reverse is demonstrably proveable. Because of who is abusing it and weaponizing it already, and will continue to do so, no matter who is "elected".
So physical things are more important now than ever, because the promise of a digital world is the mirage of a carrot, and the AI is the stick they'll whack us all with after stepping into their trap. It might seem convenient to be able to read a fully scanned copy of out of print books on Kindle, but that means they destroyed the original, and can change the digital if they want. They could flat out rewrite it so it contradicts the original and you'd never know unless you had an original printed copy to compare it to, and they know that. That's why they're destroying physical books.
It's also why they're counting on people's reliance on AI to answer all their questions instead of thinking for themselves, or looking up the source to test it's credibility themselves. Even though AI contradicts itself constantly, or regards editorials on the source material, even when those editorials get it wrong, to be a more credible source than the actual source. We know they're going to abuse it and use it to trick people, because they already are doing that.
So I put about as much stock in forum ranks or anything else on the AI flooded internet, as I do in someone who repeatedly lies to me. It's not important enough for me to care so I just try to avoid it all. And when I can't for some reason, I laugh at it, because it's all so Brawndo stupid now. I never thought I'd live to see cyberpunks saying "Trust the authorities" either, but here we are.
Do you know of any guides for creating just a character morph of a genesis 9 character to be useable for Genesis 8?

No, I didn't misunderstand. I just want to make sure it's known that I really DGAF about the rank badge. 😂 It's not that serious. Like even if it is intentional it's not that serious.
I don't think there are any guides really. It's something that has to be done outside of Daz, by using the shape of the G9 character, and then wrapping a generic G8F or G8M mesh over it, then baking the texture from the G9 character onto the G8 mesh with the standard seams/unwrap of the G8 mesh. If possible, before export, give it a Daz G8 skeleton in the 3d program. If there's an addon/plugin for the 3d program to import/export to Daz then Daz skeletons should be preserved. Then export it from the 3d program, and reimport it to Daz as a new G8 character, and then if it doesn't have a skeleton, you can add it in Daz. (Whew!)
Another way to recreate a G9 is to get some good profile image renders of the face from within Daz, (front, left side, right side) and then feed it into something like iClone character creator, or Facegen Artist Pro. That's probably a less accurate, but easier method of conversion that's more "average user" friendly.
If you just want to make a character morph shape then you could probably get away with skipping a few steps above. I just can't remember which ones. I imagine at a certain point, since it's just a mesh, it could be done the same way as using an older genesis character to create a morph.
Either method probably needs some slight tweaking to get close to the G9 original, but one is far easier than the other to pull off, but also probably not as exact.

Some folk here are happily getting quite adept with the G9 to G8 Character Conversion process.
It is good to see the better characters being ported over.
They are never going to be exact, but that doesn't matter.
In most cases the resultant G8F character actually looks better than the original.
I suspect this is because the use of a female based mesh enhances it. 🙂
G9 has both male and female base morphs. It's a different issue why some PAs ignore using them as base. Old workflow habits or reluctance to adapt, perhaps.
Also, the fact that there are plenty of requests here for converting G9 characters to G8, by itself proves that it is possible to achieve the same level of quality, may be even surpass the bar of G8. I get that some folks here are too consumed with their sunken cost fallacy and would go to great lengths at criticizing the limitations of G9. Let it be known to those folks, that each time someone makes a request/post for a G9 to G8 conversion here, they are being proven wrong.
