What I don't get is everyone of you ( and me ) are involved in the illegal sharing of daz studio content and - strictly prohibited by the ULA : Sharing is a violation of the End User License Agreement. Here is a pertinent excerpt:
Restrictions on Copying. The Content is provided for User's exclusive use. User does not have the right to provide the Content to others in any form or on any media except as set forth in this Agreement. The Content may be copied in whole or in part for User’s exclusive use. Specifically, User may copy the Content onto the storage device of an unlimited number of computers owned or controlled by User. The Content is for User’s exclusive use and no other individual or entity. Each individual must obtain his or her own license to use the Content.
So we have people that are actually upset that the content they share is being downloaded by others that may/may not be as willing to contribute? ARE you Fricken serious? Keep in mind that 98% of the content available on this site is readily available on numerous other sites and as long as this site and the others are operational it will always be that way. So I just cannot understand all the dam crying
over how this illegal file sharing gets shared with others . Just what do you expect? and stop all the dam name calling for crying out loud!July 6, 2020 at 10:51 pm #1612912New user visits and visitor flow is the most important resource on a website. The social networks of Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. have been strengthened thanks to the flow of new users and subscribers. The most important value is the user database. For there to be a flow of users, there must be an incentive. Advertising is what generates the most income on a social website. All the products sold here are brought from official websites and pirates. This website had been working well. This is a Pirate content site like any other. The only difference is that piracy is sold here. With only 25 points visits will decrease. Without flow of visits the site will disappear.
July 6, 2020 at 10:55 pm #1612915first you call people parasites not worth to share 3d-items many hundreds and thousands of people are sharing here, later you call them not worth to share this planet they’re born into, later…
If you want know check out the history about where this thinking leads to.
lol
As Ron Burgundey said, "boy, that escalated quickly"
Chill dude. I assume English isn't your first language or perhaps you missed the part of my post where I wrote, "... the leeches and parasites don’t bother me. I posted stuff here to be shared with everyone who comes here, be they stellar sharers or be they leeches and parasites."
My gosh man, get a hold of yourself.
July 6, 2020 at 11:02 pm #1612916One would not think other users could see your Point History or other info, but apparently they can. See for yourself:
https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/providers-vs-leechers/#post-1612360
On at least two occasions, the OP posted the point histories of at least two users. That was the part that gave me a slight case of the Red Ass.
All that said, after reading thru these two threads, amid all the venom spitting, I realized there were those who were chill, funny and even those going out of their way to try to be kind in their responses to posts that were anything but. I found myself smiling and laughing at at a few of the comments and after thinking about it a bit, wondered if I haven't been missing out.
July 6, 2020 at 11:03 pm #1612917Yes.
Sharing/copying/pirating or whatever you want to call what it is we do here is, in fact, a violation of the EULA.
The EULA is not the basis of the social contract people enter into on this site.
Breaking one is a violation of law.
Breaking the other a violation of social contract.
And, yes, law is also a social contract, but that's a long, spiraling, boring, old, boring, silly, and boring rabbit hole to go down. Yes, we are all very aware that what we are doing is illegal.
Thus we come to the social contract, aka the "honor among thieves" thing that is the core of this discussion. We have all, pretty freaking clearly, made our statements about what we owe the artists whose work we're sharing. How we square ourselves with that is between us as individuals and our respective views on morality and/or the supernatural.
If your argument is that your doing this thing frees you or anyone else to behave however feels convenient at the moment, there's absolutely nothing I can do to change that.
The argument being had here is that now we all agree that we're breaking the law to some extent to form this community, what to we owe one another as PART of the community?
Is it in our interest to spread these things further? Is it a respectful way to treat someone who spent money on something someone else spent time on to just copy/paste the link elsewhere? Is that how we want to treat one another? How do we incentivize the behaviors we want and disincentivize the ones we don't WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO HAVE THAT WHAT WE'RE DOING IS NOT IN LINE WITH THE EULAS OF THE PRODUCTS WE ARE PIRATING.
And if breaking one rule means all rules are fine to break for you? Again, I can do absolutely nothing to change that perspective for you.
But that's a different matter than how this community of thieves, criminals, and data-pirates treat one another.
Most of these conversations aren't really my bag because I don't have much to say: I share a little, I'll sometimes get a thing I don't even want very much so I can get a few thousand more points, I try things out, I have a spare hard drive with the assets and products I want to keep and whenever I buy one of them, I delete it from the drive. I am a criminal in the strictest, blandest sense of the word. I gain enjoyment in my hobbyist rendering from products I have pirated and used illegally because it is easy to do so and I make no money doing so. Anything I would even consider using or showing publically, I make sure I have purchased because that's how I do.
Legally speaking, that's no different than if I were some kind of highly-paid porn artist who uses exclusively pirated, shared, or otherwise ill-gotten assets. Which shows that the law is about what a community is willing to use violence to enforce and not about what is moral.
I say all this to frame my belief that this non-argument of "how can you complain about people compounding the criminal act when you yourself did the criminal act" is disingenuous toss to bring into a discussion of what kind of community (of thieves, criminals, and pirates) we want to be going forward and how we should behave to one another.
For my own part, if I buy a thing and share it here, yeah: I get a little annoyed when I see it on other sites. But also, I don't make a big stink because I understand that this is the nature of things. But also, it doesn't have to be and I can see why people would want to try and make adjustments to how we do (illegal, criminal) things to address problems within the community and disincentivize multiplying the criminality from "shared in a limited capacity on one site with one group of people who opt in to being the same kind of criminal as me" to "shared across the internet without restriction".
And if you don't see a meaningful distinction in that? Again, there's nothing I can do but the "reminder" that we're a bunch of criminals isn't an argument against caring about what kinds of criminals we are and whether or not we want certain kinds of criminals in our midst, it's honestly an argument to care MORE about the kinds of company we keep.
July 6, 2020 at 11:05 pm #1612918There seems to be a consensus that all the other sharing sites get assets just as frequently as Zone. I recommend a test. No new assets posted here for 2 weeks. Let's see how many of those other free sites pick up the slack. I'd bet it's none of them.
I know this isn't hunter's way, but damn it, I am so sick of the fools over at 3d-load fawning all over that site like he's spending his money to get the items. He just takes them from here (as has been proven over and over).
July 6, 2020 at 11:09 pm #1612919@barcgwcc Reducing the daily bonus received is certainly a little unpleasant, but as mentioned above, a temporary solution.
Anyway.
In general, yes, I will have to wait longer for the desired asset, to accumulate points. But my life does not depend on whether I have this asset here now. You can wait a bit.
Maybe while I am accumulating points for the desired asset, I will already find it somewhere else. Ok, maybe I'll take it there. The conversation is not so much about most users, but about their special type. The authors of other thematic sites.
The main question now is that in a few minutes after the publication of the content here, it would not pop up on dozens of other sites.According to my personal observations, the zone in the vast majority of cases is a donor for other sites. This is because it is not published by those who repost it from other site, but by those who buy it. There is a difference)
It seems to me that the stream of new content will not be reduced at all, but will become less intense. I found a lot of releases here, and only then did posts with this content start appearing on other sites.
July 6, 2020 at 11:25 pm #1612923@oddytemper (Ozzy) Exactly. And when the likes of Daz and Renderosity etc, fathom that one out, how long do folks think that they'll go all guns blazing to shut this blog down? Cut the head off the snake, so to speak. Then there won't be any arguing about Leechers and Posters or points for that matter.
July 6, 2020 at 11:30 pm #1612925@plebby The idea is certainly interesting. Honestly did not think about it.
However, we have many times watched how the closed sites are resurrected from the ashes, with the same content and even design, just on the alternative domain)July 6, 2020 at 11:39 pm #1612926With such thoughts, of course, I step on my neck, being an overwhelmingly consumer, rather than contributor.
Honestly, if it were not for the incident with the restoration of assets - I can’t even imagine how I could have done anything useful, yet.
What can I do for the community? Over this issue i have yet to smash my head.
// UPD
I recalled the old principles of torrents, with download speed restrictions depending on the amount of traffic given ...
What to do, have to work and earn money)
Spread content or buy points, supporting the site.
In the meantime, with such capabilities it’s tight, collect points by going to the site daily, communicating with interesting peoples and watching not the worst ads 😀July 6, 2020 at 11:47 pm #1612927wow, déjà vu, It's like this thread is repeating the same pattern as before....

July 6, 2020 at 11:51 pm #1612930A person can attack without access to current information. It would be a desire. It will be a little harder, but still possible)
That doesn't make it any better.
But what to do about it. This is how the internet works. Everything that gets here becomes common)
I hope for you your email-provider/creditcard company handles it in an other way.
I fully agree that the amount of public personal data is a no-go!
July 6, 2020 at 11:52 pm #1612931History of my actions here it's not personal data.
You can't indefine me IRL by this info. I hope that 😀It's depends only from people usage case. In this situation - not best posible can be.
