I am sad to hear the news, she was in the few times I had any interactions with her very nice. I havent been so active as of late and saw this as I checked into the forums for a long time. My thoughts are wither her and those close to her within the group that knew her over the years.

when I get spammed by the same users requesting/ dmanding assets I sure wish there was a way to block people.

I think you will find that the Artist you mention is one of the ones that also supply the blender versions for VFX Grace and Unreal Engine. Models like this are expensive and dont get shared that often as most people purchasing them are using them for business. Actually surprised that there are so many VFX Grace assets for blender here.

Currently they have a reasonable cashback offer and with the promo codes you get, you end up with around 6 months free of the Full Adobe CC Cloud suite as well.

Dont have ITX but have a smaller Case than the usual ATX Midi Tower size, just fits tthe gfx card in with around 3cm clearance of the 3 front fans. three on the top of the case one on the back and one at the bottom of the case.
    Have 4 NVME's 2x Old style HDD's i7 12700 128 GB Ram,
TUF GAMING B660-PLUS WIFI D4 Main Board,RTX 4800 Super Pro Art Version (Smaller size but exactly the same perf as standard 4080 Super. and a seasonic focus GX 850 PSU. Never had an issue with temps underload even today when its 34c outside, just decent aircooling set up (8 Fans plus CPU Fan. If I run cinebench may get in to high 80's but thats nothing to worry about. Why did I go for a smaller case, well I have a 32" 4K monitor a 32" 1440 Monitor and a Ultra Wide monitor 34" 2560*1080 on my desk and as I am messing around with sd cards and some other bits n pieces i like having the tower on my Desk too.
Works doesnt cook the components and gives me the real estate i need on my desk.

In Unreal there are a few ways to do this, all add up to a longer render time.

You can create a post process material. Renders an additional pass after the main renderpass.
You can create an Overlay Material which is rendered on top of the first material at render time
You can create a custom material to add a toon style (these are just as exxpensive render time wise as the material is more expensive than a standard material calculations wise
My prefered option is one of the first two as you have a much more granular control over the final effect, especially if you expose all the paramaters in the materail so they can be customized in the material instances.

If you want a 2d style material I have seen some interesting shaders created by setting the material to Unlit. Giving it all most a hand drawn style look.

But overall in unreal they are no faster and in most cases are actually a bit longer render time wise.

These were some of my thoughts earlier:

Why not just use a theme/style Like Black and White or stylized or photorealistic then just let entrees choose their own Genre within the style

or something like these where the artists can choose whatever they want to put in the scene, but must make sure which one they are entering.
Scifi <- could cover everything from space, to dune, to cyberpunk for example.
Horror / mystery <- Everything but without locking it down to anything specific.
Fantasy well thats as broad a category as it gets
Character Could be Human,Cyborg, animal, fantasy creature but the focus is on the character rather than the overall scene.

just my 0.2c but I think themes are the better way to go rather than a specific topic, leaves a lot more room for artistic interpretation. without any real constraints as long as their art fits the theme.

Downloaded the Mega link without any issues, unfortunately someone marked it as a dead link, maybe one of the mods can remove the dead post tag.

I know we already have an AI Category, and a Daz one, what I would like is a category where we could use a third party tool for rendering, scene creation etc. For example Unreal Engine, where Daz characters etc are used in the scene. Wouldnt mind boosting the pot to allow for the extra points needed to make the posts more interesting.

Also how about this, rather that a bunch of specific themes, leave it a bit more open to interpretation and use simple categories.

    For example,
Scifi <- could cover everything from space, to dune, to cyberpunk for example.
Horror / mystery <- Everything but without locking it down to anything specific.
Fantasy well thats as broad a category as it gets

This way it would work pretty much for everyone and also leave loads of room for individual artistic interpretation.

Only thing you need to check is the license terms some only limit it to static images or animations but may not allow you to incorporate the results in say a "movie"

Just check the licensing terms or ya at worse get a ccopyright strike if on YT or a dmca notice sent to wherever ya upload it to

What would be awesome is a a way of using something similar to Googles GDrive, so instead of anyone with a link we could share it using some form of userID there are plenty of WP plugins for this, and the system is safely handled at the backend. All can be customised (Digital D;'s for WP) Woocommerce (free) you can set a price / make it a group purchase and once thats reached anyone who contributed will get an authorized link) because of "The key" to the dl sharing the link with someone wont work. It wont block reposting the files somewhere else but will kill people sharing the link for a few fast credits.

For high value items I will give until the next weekend before resetting the permissions on the folder to non shared that way if someone has still missed the chance to download it who was on the offer list is only one click away my end to open it up again.

The main problem of having your own site is getting the traffic there to even make a sale, whereas being on Daz or in my case the Epic Marketplace does the marketing and hosting etc. for you.

The key downside from a creators point of view, (Its a bonus to sites like this one) is the lack of the asset stores measures to prevent "Sharing" or to track where is came from. Some Aset stores have a system in place but its incredibly weak. (Again goood for sites like this) but bad for the original creators.

Heck with a php script you can embed a tiny code into the image (just coloured pixels) and when you find your asset, you simply run it through the script and you can get the acc that downloaded it date time or any other info and then block that account from downloading etc. Still wont prevent the original share.

Daz has its own unique problems ok they may be restricted to for example genesis versions, so dont require regular updates. but even for things like Blender Assets, UE assets they need a constant update as UE Versions bring additional features or Drop features that the asset needed. And they have as far as I know the best Payout rate 88% going to the author per asset sale.
