Welcome back
Sooooo... Halloween Contest seems the goer. Lots of room for pumpkin heads, horror, sci-fi and humour. And lots of time before 31 Oct.
PM me if you want me to help out with something.I have been in an artistic streak so I'm def going to partecipate in the AI section.
Probably, we need a theme that is good for everyone.
1) Sea / Ocean Theme.

This is a bit open ended, but it features just one character in a (hopefully) interesting activity/pose/whatever.Or both, divided into 3D / AI each.

I think we've covered that before.... Christmas In July. But I'm open to anything.
just my 0.2c but I think themes are the better way to go rather than a specific topic, leaves a lot more room for artistic interpretation. without any real constraints as long as their art fits the theme.
Ok Ive never been a master of the English language but I dont see much difference between a Topic and a Theme.
I want a dog themed contest.
Theme: the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person's thoughts, or an exhibition; a topic.I want a contest about dogs.
Topic: a matter dealt with in a text, discourse, or conversation; a subject.There's not really much difference between the two Adam. Though "themed" might be a bit less strict and include dog-like creatures, a girl with dog ears, toy dogs etc. And "about dogs" you would assume to include actual dog/s.
Ok, what about this one?
Ocean theme.
It's quite broad. Wanna have cthulhu monsters attacking ships? Good.
Wanna have a bikini contest? Good.
Wanna go Pirates? Good.
Wanna have werewolf...erm stuff? Good, as long as they take a bath afterwards ^_^Wanna go for a nice landscape of the ocean? Good.
Wanna go Blender and have an ocean simulation? Good.
Theoceansky is the limit.Maybe couple it with the "interesting character" part?

These were some of my thoughts earlier:
Why not just use a theme/style Like Black and White or stylized or photorealistic then just let entrees choose their own Genre within the style
or something like these where the artists can choose whatever they want to put in the scene, but must make sure which one they are entering.
Scifi <- could cover everything from space, to dune, to cyberpunk for example.
Horror / mystery <- Everything but without locking it down to anything specific.
Fantasy well thats as broad a category as it gets
Character Could be Human,Cyborg, animal, fantasy creature but the focus is on the character rather than the overall scene.
