I think it's this one: https://www.daz3d.com/ethel-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81-female
May 21, 2022 at 1:56 PM #1810596There's a fair bit of shady dealing at Renderhub.
One of the first characters I purchased from there had texture files that were taken straight from products by some of the really well known vendors at Daz.
They weren't textures that came from the merchant resource sets either and they still had the original vendor's name on the .jpg's.
April 8, 2022 at 5:27 PM #1793535This fucked me off no end.
From browsing the Daz galleries over the last month or so, I noticed a few artists having images removed because they were related to the Ukraine conflict. Some of the images, I'd commented on myself and then "oh... where did that go?"
Daz supposedly have a policy that disallows "overtly" political or politically based images from the gallery which they can then use to flagrantly remove stuff. At least until they can work out how to make a profit from it or come up with some virtue signalling, bullshit bundle that shows they care by the dollar about gender issues, disabilities, minorities or actual war.
March 8, 2022 at 11:48 AM #1782965I've been getting the same error throughout the night and have tried on multiple browsers.
October 8, 2021 at 9:03 PM #1736696January 26, 2021 at 1:33 AM #1661316I love the attention to detail in the wrinkles, the neck and the thinner lips. Maybe some work on the sclera and the iris so they're not so white/clear could help a bit.
Guess it's hard to do sagging skin unless you could use a geoshell with a tiny bit of dforce and some very specific normal maps maybe. Perhaps that's why they've gone for the extremely sunken, almost skeletal look. The vendor tends to use very heavy LIE make ups on all their characters, not sure if these designs suit the older model. Having seen a lot of their promo images, they go for the same poses/lighting set ups which (again) tend to work with a younger/glamour model and you can see the same posing here.
With some tweaking and different lighting, this could be a really great older character, I'm actually quite excited for the release as there aren't many high quality older ladies available.
December 25, 2020 at 11:48 PM #1653030Super happy Christmas to everyone! I hope you've all the best day possible and send everyone huge wishes for an awesome new year. I probably won't be moving from the floor until then because I am too full of roast potatoes.
Also the biggest and most heartfelt thanks to @catweazle for the christmas presents in the blog, they're the nicest ones I've had this year! Truly appreciate the kindness and the generosity.
Love to all,
Shyne <3P.S. @legolas18 Nice ME reference! My Son got a talking Elcor plushie for his present this year and it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen, it's going to get "borrowed" a lot :p
August 18, 2020 at 3:55 PM #1621400@littleevie Thanks for checking it out!
H'mm, that INFO.duf error was there in the original download from Dz. I tested the product out as soon as I got it and doesn't cause any issues. My guess is that there's supposed to be a "pop-up" if you hover over for info regarding using the skin tint last but there's a thumbnail in the same folder that says to do that anyway.
I messaged the person who re-uploaded it and I think they had the same error regarding the INFO.duf file but fixed it and then uploaded it to the blog again.
Was a bit confused and also wary considering all the shenanigans that have gone on lately, the last thing I'd ever want to do is upload something that doesn't work for people.
August 17, 2020 at 10:15 PM #1621314As the original uploader for Rose HD to the blog here - there were no issues with the textures in the files I uploaded. I most definitely did not get that product from any other sharing site, it was a legitimate purchase to fulfil requests here and because I wanted the character.
I'm a bit concerned as I've just seen someone else has re-posted it with an "Archive Fixed" tag on it which kinda makes it look like my original post is dodgy and also a tad peeved as there didn't appear to be an issue, that I'm aware of, that would warrant re-posting considering the original has been up on the blog for 10 days now.
Nor did I receive a message to say "Hey, Shyne - you need to entirely re-do your blog post". Which I would have done immediately.
August 9, 2020 at 9:08 AM #1619702It's definitely the flowers from the Arion Braid, if I remember that hair comes with a "filler" part so not sure if there are two instances of the filler used in the promo maybe with different shaders.
Or.. dForce Jay Hair is mentioned in the promo credits so it could be the flower wreathe from Arion + dForce Jay Hair?
August 8, 2020 at 10:52 PM #1619642Yep, it's definitely Haydina but dialled to have extra length.
That particular vendor makes awesome hair with amazing textures, think I've managed to purchase all of them as they're absolutely worth it.I wish it was mandatory that vendors credited/listed what they use in their promos, although I understand that Daz wouldn't necessarily want to promote Rosity and vice versa, it's still a very effective advertising method for products used.
As well as promoting the work of people who make free things, it's stupidly annoying when you want to find something and spend hours looking for it.August 8, 2020 at 1:11 AM #1619488It's this one!
Starlight QueenAugust 2, 2020 at 8:03 PM #1618413@nightreaper
THANK YOU!!
I honestly wouldn't have thought of looking there, genuinely didn't think it'd be a freebie. Thank you so much for letting me know, sending some points your way as a thank you. Hope you have a fantastic week <3July 19, 2020 at 11:01 PM #1615835@legolas18 - Thank you so much!
There's not too much postwork. I try to get things as set up as possible just in the render and I had a grumpy bitch of a time getting the lighting right with this one.
It's a combination of interior lights within the scene (hospital hallway) with the emission turned down a fair bit. A fill, key and rim light and then a very low intensity HDRI. Had to remove a few walls and doors to get the light from the HDRI where I wanted it.I'm trying to get better at using depth of field so this was good practice to get the balance between
Ivanka Trumpthe main figure and the bodybags in the hallway.Postwork is mostly colour toning - I wanted more of an overall blue theme so I adjusted the colour balance then used a single, very low opacity bright blue layer set to "pin light".
Duplicated the background layer, boosted exposure & contrast, gaussian blurred the shit out of it then set it to soft light.Repeated the soft light effect, set it to screen and softly erased most of the image out to to get some finer glow and highlights where I wanted them. Added a few light leaks and soft flares by hand, a tiny bit of grain and that's it. I think.
If I remember what else I did, I'll add it!
@oddytemper - Thank you kindly!
I'll put a "wear your shades" warning if I do anything this bright again :pJuly 19, 2020 at 12:36 PM #1615695@catnip23 - Thank you!
@eelgoo - I have a thing for mixed messages :p I was playing with some ideas for the classical Lady Justice whilst browsing the news, which was a silly thing to do.
Hence the elements of justice, corruption, priorities for self VS others, ethics/empathy and the lack of them. Also goya beans. Ugh.
@tony0558 - Thank you! You got it in one 😀 -
