Same. In my mid 50s now and though my family longevity suggests I'll hit my mid 90s and still be able to live independently, who knows. Anything could happen. My grandmother lived to almost 100 and independently in her own home until she was 96.
I set up a render, do a quick one in daz to make sure it looks right and send it to the server. Then I do another, etc until I might have 10 queued up and start it when I head to bed. I, of course, save each scene I make just in case I missed something.
Same, MASSIVE library plus custom stuff. That and every time I try to learn blender I get a headache.
Also off topic but you don't even need her repacks if you have Sims 4 Updater. Just search for exactly that in google and the first site, anadius, has it.
Don't need batch rendering in DAZ. If your system can handle the extra overhead, you can use iRay server which is free now.
I won't be upgrading my 3090 and have a refurbished one that I am currently using since I know the "new" one I bought works flawlessly and the new one is what I use for gaming while my refurbished one runs iray server.
I upgraded my 10 year old i5-6600k to a much nicer system with a 1600W PSU running an ASUS ROIG Strix MOBO with 96 GB DDR5 memory and an i7-14700KF. I don't plan to upgrade until 6XXX. If They never update Iray again and just dispose of it I guess DAZ will find another engine. I'll stick with whatever is the latest one that runs iRay at that point since I still have not, and do not intend to, update to Genesis 9.
I use AI for two things, and two things only. To generate background scenery I cant find on here and as a tool in my workflow. AI will never create what I want no matter how good it is. What I do is do a render, then open in IMG2IMG and do a bunch of variations on a theme and then open the original render and the selected generation in Photoshop on my XP-Pen pro and get to work editing. I also have shared up as well publicly but I doubt I will be sharing more even though I just came back after a prolonged absence. Also because I am not making the leap to Genesis 9. If I do share it's probably going to be just props and environments when I get around to it.
Late, but this is the one I got on sale back in July and have zero issues with it so far.
Late to the discussion but I had 3 27" curved 1440p monitors and I miss them terribly. Had then set up in an arc to match the screen curve and like Williamvvv I had then set up like that. One died so I got a 34 inch LG curved 3440x1440. Then a second of my 27 inch and then the 3rd died. Never buy Viotek, they die within 3 years. When I can I plan to buy two more of these LG. I use an 86.6" long by 47.2 inch wide desk so it's easy to stick the center monitor at the right distance with the curvature of the monitor and when I get the other two and angle will be good as well. I was looking at the G9 oled but it's just too expensive compared to the price for what you get.
With the finger and limb issues etc, it's still not there. It's really not a "make art" button. Out of 75-100 images I might get one that is decent enough to import into img2img then do some inpainting, then open in photoshop and use my drawing monitor and pen to perfect to what I believe is good enough. What I use it mostly for is 3 things. I use IMG2IMG to produce variations on a theme of my renders, then spend time in photoshop layering and blending and tweaking on top of the original. I use txt2img to produce textures. I also use text2img to produce original renders to give me an idea of what to create render in DAZ. I've even used it in IIMG to IMG on my render to create clothes I don't have and don't exist for daz, use photoshop to crop out the unneeded parts, then layered in daz over my render and fixed with my art monitor so it looks like it was rendered in daz. None of it is a "mark art" button though, creating clothes to apply over my daz figures takes a hell of a long time and many generations to get to look right then time to work in photoshop.
Which is odd because I've been a member for over 2 years and this is the first time this has happened.
More memory allows you to build more complex scenes. The 3060 also has 3584 cuda cores vs 1920 on the 2060 meaning faster renders.
Oh come on. If our IPs are public guess what DAZ, Renderosity, and other sites will do. Yep, go through their logs to try matching our IPs to ban us or even join your "render farm" and use wireshark or similar to see what IPs they are connecting to and do the same. Unless you have a way to completely obfuscate the connections, you risk anyone using this getting banned from content sites.
If I had access for free or very low cost to a farm like PIXAR, I'd be making full length movies by now. As it is, it takes me about 2-3 hours to do a 1 minute 720p movie which I then use Gigapixel AI to upscale the rendered images to 1080p then convert into a movie.
@Abad Well, good luck with your project. I am sure you will get plenty of volunteers when you insult people disagreeing with you.
