Now I have RTX 2060 6gb ans want change it to RTX 3060 12gb. Does it make sense to improve performance in DAZ3D?
June 23, 2023 at 5:39 PM #1989059More VRAM is always better, and you'll see some speed improvements as well. There's a thread on the daz forums somewhere that lists its per second for each card for comparison. Google something like 'Daz studio Nvidia card comparison' and you should find it. If not I'll have a look when I'm back on a proper PC.
June 24, 2023 at 8:25 AM #1989248.. the 3060 12GB is a good one.. I have it and it hasn't let me down..
.. this thread has a lot of info on the 3060 as well as others..
.. also here..
June 24, 2023 at 2:22 PM #1989509I was quite happy with my RTX 3060 that I brought early last year. It was a massive step up from what I had before (which I can't remember now - as I'm tired). Not sure of the prices now (but I paid AU$900) - should be cheaper now.

😀 .. couldn't resist.. 😀
June 24, 2023 at 8:52 PM #1989657I went from a broken 3090 to my current 3060 and almost cried at how slow things ran in current Daz.
I can't wait to get another 3090 or 4090 when they're more sensibly priced.
I would suggest saving for a bit longer and getting a used 3090 that's still in warranty from ebay.June 24, 2023 at 9:04 PM #1989661Thanks everyone for your answers. I ordered 3060, will be delivered in 2 days

uhhhh.....
Ok, I'll be that guy.
The 4060 Ti with 16GB is due out in July... set to be $499.
It has 3070 performance, but 16GB of VRAM...
July 1, 2023 at 12:20 PM #1992525I went from a GTX1060 6gb to the RTX 3060 12 gb and am quite pleased with its performance. One of those threads will educate you on having enough RAM to go with the RAM on the card.
@redflag
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... my aching wallet! it'll have to wait.. sob...

Well, we already have some pretty good data on the 4060 Ti 8Gb card... so it should be same performance but with the 16GB of VRAM.
The Render/Iray is where the new generation GPUs usually shine.
That being said, the 3060 12gb cards are selling for US $275-ish, which makes it a very compelling argument.
@emil1977 should have received his 3060 by now... I am curious as to his after-action report.July 2, 2023 at 12:51 AM #1992718More memory allows you to build more complex scenes. The 3060 also has 3584 cuda cores vs 1920 on the 2060 meaning faster renders.
