I enjoy 'playing' with daz-studio, creating the character, imagining the backstory, posing the items in the scene... writing a prompt will never give me that satisfaction
Boom. This pretty much nails it for me.
I just like going into DAZ, 3DS Max, Blender or name any other 3D program and making things myself.
Playing with DAZ to me is almost like playing with "The Sims" character creator but on steroids. Posing and rendering my scenes is really for my own personal enjoyment. Looking at everything I made and remembering what I was thinking back then is part of the fun.
Putting things into AI destroys the memory for me as I feel like I won't know what I did and my intent. I do and will use AI in other work, but personal projects or projects I care a lot about won't be touching AI.
September 12, 2026 at 10:09 PM #2187662I also haven’t received any message from Ethiopia, so I’ll respond directly here. The licensing system is not something that simply waits for a valid response from a license server. Part of the program and its architecture runs on the server side, so even if someone somehow bypassed the license check, they still wouldn’t be able to render with the application.
This was the disappointing part for the app. I have no problem buying it and as a matter of fact I'm ready to buy it when the open beta period stops. but sounds like this app will only be running on my laptop and won't be on my server.
September 12, 2026 at 5:43 PM #2187643Does anyone know if the software will change to allow for offline renders when it moves to a paid license?
I'm not going to allow my server to touch the internet and if this app needs an active internet connection then it's a no no for me all the way.
October 18, 2025 at 5:30 PM #2149499Very useful post my dude! Thanks!
July 4, 2025 at 5:35 PM #2134917@supreme-leech, yeah I may of missed your point from the start (remember I wrote that while high about 12 hours ago. So I fell like I went off on a random tangent that may not apply to this topic. But posted it to see where it drives the conversation.)
But I basically agree with you. I just didn't state that agreement directly with you coherently enough.
This is the paragraph where I somewhat express the a similar view to you. The core focus was the "Personal touch" Or something someone will do because it something THEY want to see regardless what it takes but not wanting AI adding element that has no place nor a personal touch.
Sadly, I think the future may not care that much at all. Should every living human stop manually making art because of AI? No... Me personally, I'll continue to do manual 3D artwork and try to achieve it by hand without the use of AI because the final output is everything I personally wanted to see. Every small detail is an item I needed to explicitly spend the time to make sure it looks as such. This is something I feel AI could never achieve. "The personal touch".
--------------------------
My initial arguments against AI were duplicate existing art , lack of customization and void of human interaction.
I agree with you. Maybe this sentence of mine would've applied to you more than anyone else.
That depends, how do you value artwork more? Would you care if the artwork was done by a human or if it was made by a machine&/or both?
If it seems like it doesn't I'll re-word it to something I personally feel is true when it comes to art.
I value art created by another human with the drive to express a specific mood or moment more than something an AI could ever create due to the lack of workmanship put into the finial product.
July 4, 2025 at 3:34 PM #2134907FYI: I was high when I typed this and the thread had four posting from @ADAM and @supreme-leech, I held off posting it because I know how stupid things people think of while high. 12 hours later I re-read it just said who gives a shit... Post it and see what it can add to the conversation.
-----
@ADAM Okay, I might be following along more, but I'm not sure...If I'm correct, you're talking about how AI has managed to reach to a point that it can create items in such a real or stylistic fashion at such an ease and rapid paste than humans could ever achieve. then I understand what your alluring too and read on... If not, then stop reading here and clarify.
----------------------------------------
My argument against that would be, I feel this was always an evidential outcome that we cannot not stop as soon as ChatGPT was first announced to the public. (Or whatever AI model/system first derived and announced to the public.) There is no such thing as stopping something once the cat's out of the bag for humanity.
This may seem out of the blue, but personally; I feel a lot of users on this site have a "anti-fan" attitude towards DAZ. (A general feeling I have when browsing the forum due to the topics made when the central subject of the topics are about DAZ and the wrongs they've done.) Which made me assume your thread was also along those lines since it seemed to focus to topic on DAZ specifically. As if their [possible?] eventual death (as a company) will become true.
I cant tell the future, and stop trying to long ago because of how wrong I always am. But, I would say; I think there's not a single thing DAZ could do right now, a year back, 5 years back or a decade ago to change their outcome in regards to their software. No amounts of changes could of predicted AI and it's strengths. Mainly because of the simplicity of AI usage along with it always using your work to create other versions of it.
Remember, DAZ Studio was (like most programs) made for a specific goal in mind 20 years go. (A mind blowing thing to realize in my eyes. Mainly due to age.) A time where AI like today was only considered by science-fiction nerds that like to discuss esoteric topics others would not care to think of back then. What where the popular topics back in 2005? And do you really think almost every single artist and maybe programmer talk about how AI would kill the artistic industry?
I haven't seen many software companies the size of DAZ Productions try to change their sole product core priorities to continually satisfy the worlds new demands. Can they do it? Maybe, but considering their potential size, (about 130 employees?) along with their financial resources and constraints, It's rare for companies their size to have major new features to keep up with the market.
Hell, I honestly think even companies like Autodesk, SideFX or whatever other 3D modeling software company you know might be in trouble right now due to AI. (Although DAZ may be in big trouble right now due to their software specific strengths.)
AI isn't just a death knock on DAZ's door, that knock echos to all artistic software companies in the world.

Which leads me to seeing @supreme-leech comment / question:
That depends, how do you value artwork more? Would you care if the artwork was don by a human or if it was made by a machine&/or both?
This [maybe?] make me agree with @stachelzelle
Sadly, I think the future may not care that much at all. Should every living human stop manually making art because of AI? No... Although we'll have to acknowledge most people will not care about that "personal touch" manual artists do to achieve the final output. But everyone not caring is something I personally don't care about.
Those doing art for an income will have to adjust to the future going forward sadly. This also include the artistic software companies like DAZ. Which could also in turn impact those of choose to make art manually. Especially with the tools made in the future.
July 3, 2025 at 8:59 PM #2134803I'm not understanding what the hell is going on here...
May 5, 2025 at 1:40 PM #2127744You English is very broken so it's hard to understand exactly what your confusion is. (But it sounds like you also want the item listed here (https://zonegfx.com/requests/jinx-g10-league-of-legends-arcane/)
You already done whats needed. Your username is on the list of users to receive a download link When someone happens to have the item and shares it. This means you have to wait for someone else to come along and share the file to download it.
If you're still confused, you can continue reading below.
----------------------
When browsing the request section and you see an item you want, you'll be presented with two (2) buttons within the request.

The "Fill this Request" button is when you have the file and want to share it with those requesting it. When using this button, another screen will present itself. That window is where you can supply the download link for everyone. You and everyone on the request will receive a private message to the URL you've added on that pop-up screen.
Remember, this button is if you have the file. DO NOT use this button if you want the item.

The "Add/Change Reward Point" button is to add your account to the list of users to receive a download link when someone shares the item.
Remember, just because you click this button and added your name to the request list, it does not mean you'll get it immediately. You have to WAIT until someone shares it.
April 11, 2025 at 9:04 PM #2124916@amberkat it should be pretty obvious that sites like imgur doesn't want to be associated with hosting images for a site like this. Not to mention you're only going to open a lot of users being reported if enough info is gathered about them while using sites like imgur. They also have teams that are pretty active and will love to help catch content pirates.
If that's not clear enough. The below quote is within their site TOS.
If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it.
Plus imagehostx is stupid easy to use. Why change up things when something is already in place and works well?
March 24, 2025 at 4:11 PM #2122893I don't mind it. I do agree it can be annoying at times. But it gets me to think about grabbing stuff made for other products and see what I can do with it.
March 20, 2025 at 2:57 AM #2122397You should've just sent an email to their support team directly...
Hey! I run Win7, will this program work on Win7?
But it's too late guess... I would assume programs made in the year 2020+ will not work on OS's made in 2009...
Hardly anyone here will be running systems with 15 year old soft and hard specs. Especially on a type of hobby where having decent and somewhat recent hardware is a key requirement. If you really want to stick with Win7, you might have better luck spinning up a VM with win10 or 11 and enabling GPU pass-through (if your hardware can support it). But even then your going to run into your own set of challenges.
Good luck.
March 4, 2025 at 11:07 PM #2120432This makes me curious.
I also go for character skin and mats, but personally favor DAZ original characters as their skins tends to look the most realistic in my opinion. Am I the only person that thinks this? Or does everyone else do the same?
February 5, 2025 at 8:00 PM #2116662Really it seems like the primary issue is, when someone fulfills a request that's already be posted, there a risk of the new fulfillment appearing as a duplicate in the blog. This require (I think) some manual work from the mods to remove.
With that said, if you happen to see a request that's already been fulfilled and posted to the blog, make sure you take care to uncheck the "post to blog" box to prevent a duplicate post from appearing. If you happen to forget to do that, then you would be breaking the rules technically by creating duplicate posts.
I don't think it's against the rules to fulfill a request that already been posted. You just have to ensure you're not creating a duplicate post on the blog that will in turn create some manual work for the mods to deal with. If anything, the only person breaking the rules will be the user that requested the item without checking the upcoming and already posted section of the site.
November 30, 2024 at 5:11 PM #2105569.. its nice of you to think that those people are going to read this..
^ This
The toughest thing to do in this world is getting people to take the time to read something for 2 minutes. Ensuring they understood what they just read is another matter in of itself.
But at the same time, good post OP and I agree with you. sadly it might fall on death ears as the people your talking about are those that don't read.
November 21, 2024 at 2:23 PM #2103936I tried that. The mods gave a bullshit reason not to implement such a policy despite it being to our advantage.
The reason didn't sound like "bullshit" too me. It made a lot of sense..
Okay, at this point I would like to remind everyone that, like it or not, this is a pirate site. You can support your favorite creators and vendors but harassing ZGFX users in PMs and forum posts is not okay!
We can't remove X vendor's posts while keeping Y vendor's items online, because every vendor would be here instantly, requesting a removal. -
