Would love to see some UE stuff posted here myself (and more Blender stuff to eventually import into it). Unfortunately, I keep getting 0xc000007b errors when trying to start the Epic Games Installer to use/get UE5.
For game dev, this is one of the main engines used (personally, I'm trying my hand at VR game dev). They also use Unity, but recently they've kicked themselves in the arse.
If you'd still like to try it, OP, you can get the download here:

A shame I missed the contest, my laptop was down for a while and I've shifted focus away from DAZ. Sorry for the lateness.
May 1, 2023 at 6:43 PM #1964521So True @Ethiopia. The enthusiasts still buy it and more vendors are providing content, so I can't say it's a failure either (at least, not compared to the new Poser).
While DS is in desperate need of a new iteration, as features and capabilities lag far behind other rendering competitors, that probably isn't happening anytime soon (at least, their job openings don't give that impression). It'll just take time before nearly all new releases are G9 related, to begin filling out their library.
Personally, I barely use it... if at all. I may even jump ship from DS entirely, as I've been eyeing UE5 and Blender, once I upgrade to a better PC.
I do wish they had a Skin Builder for GS9 (or at least 8.1), it's ridiculous they don't so far. Other than that, it's pretty "meh".
EDIT: Also, as sexy a pair they are... Stable Diffusion or Midjourney combo'd with ChatGBT, there still is that thrill from creating a render by hand: Setting up the scene, polishing the textures/shaders/models to how you want them, the lighting, the focal distance, this and that. But I do agree that they are pretty useful and amazing. I wish DS could do something to keep up.

April 16, 2023 at 11:42 PM #1957681My hero! Thanks Warrant63!
April 6, 2023 at 1:32 PM #1952659Thanks Warrant, as always. I've tried both links and as soon as they open, they're instantly flagged by Avast Online Security & Privacy as unsafe due to "malicious code". I uh... well, I think I'll wait for impressions first 🙂
EDIT: Tried it anyways. Not bad!

I remember what I used to get rid of the hair clipping through the ear. I'm putting this here for my own future reference too in case I forget. I remembered after watching this Making Polygons Invisible tutorial on Youtube.
There's a tool that may already appear on some users toolbar (but not mine, unfortunately) named Geometry Editor.

With this, while the hair model is selected in the scene, you can select individual strands of hair (or rather the geometry making up the strand) in the image. After holding the left mouse button and highlighting what you want removed, simply left click the mouse button...

Then select "Geometry Visibility > Hide Selected Polygon(s)". You'll need to probably do this several times since the hair is built upon layers and you need to painstakingly do this over and over to get the result you want...

Unfortunately, if you save this hair to your character as a "Scene Subset" the hair will become visible again. You will need to delete the polygons, rather than hiding them. To do this, select "Geometry Editing > Delete Selected Polygon(s)" instead of selecting "Geometry Visibility"...

Then say "Yes" to the following warning. Now, once you save your character with hair as a set, the strands will remain removed!

Once I remember how to hid strands of hair and items so they don't clip, I'll post it here.
March 17, 2023 at 6:46 PM #1942486Love a good cyberpunkish image, and that's a great moody atmosphere in the image. Reminds me slightly of a story I read in Heavy Metal as a kid, about an ice trucker called Gypsy, by Enrico Marini.
March 17, 2023 at 6:36 PM #1942485Great poses! Have you considered adding a "sweat" or wetness geoshell to your character? And a wee bit of motion blur in post would be amazing.
For your background problem, just search google for a gym image. Once in DazStudio, select the "Environment" tab, at the top of it where it says Type, change "None" to "Backdrop" and next to the color code select, hit the browse button and load the image you just saved (granted the portrait, square, or landscape of the photo matches your render area).

March 9, 2023 at 9:53 PM #1938516OMG Frank, I love you! Thank you so much for this, I've searched all over the place for a recent iPhone model that didn't have problematic texture.

I'd love to join, but I don't have Discord, nor do I know how to use it. I just finally figured out reddit (lol... so sad)
