@gohanf22 "Textures won't load onto the hair if you want to change the hair color."

I use that method but as I nearly always use third party hair shaders I don't have a problem like that.

    Thanks @pooper !
I guess I will have to wait anyway...

    Thanks!

@john09 Thanks! Then I know it's too early. I want to have 5090 as the standard GPU as I'm very interested in more memory, not so much faster rendering. Sigh, I guess it will be 6090 when it's time for an upgrade...

    Thanks a lot!

I really want to have NVIDIA 5090 (I now have 2X 2080 TI) with it's extra memory but before the change I sort of want to be certain that the combo 5090 and DS 2026 Beta will work -reasonably- smoothly, perfect is the enemy of good and I would be happy with more vram and a good work flow with 2026. I don't know but I guess 2080 would not work with 2026, do anyone know about that? Do anyone have advice of how to proceed here, when should I upgrade my computer?

Would be happy to get an update on DS 2026 Beta. Is it working better now? I especially need Manfriday's Render Queue and the Look At Me tool.

@felicia Thanks for the kind words!

There have been quite a few G9 hairs that I really wanted to use, now I at least have a decent solution...

@inversekinematics I have not had any problems with G9 clothes on G8, only with certain hairs, basically (almost) all longer hairs.

    UPPDATE:

This feature is NOT part of Studio Premier, it was a part of the 4.23 update! Why the F are they talking about a feature that already exists on the page for Studio Premier???

That could be good news if it wasn't for the bad news: it is not a better conversion/autofit than those two that already existed (one of them is Genesis 9 MMX). All the hairs that failed with the other two also fails with Daz3d's autofitter. So back on square one in that sense.

It is however fairly easy to use a G9F hair that doesn't autofit with reasonable results. It just takes a minute or two:

    !. Load a G8F
    2. Chose G8F and zero figure pose
    3. Make sure nothing in the scene is selected
    4. Load the particular G9 hair. The hair will be loaded almost always slightly to low, but as far as I can see the X and Z axis are fully aligned.
    5. Change the nudge for the up/down transformer (Y axis) to 0.1.
    6. Change viewport so you can see the upper part of the head/hair, move the hair into perfect position. You may have to change size.
    7. Parent the hair to the head.

So far it has worked just fine with the hairs I have used in this way.

It takes a minute or two, you can now use ALL G9 hairs for G8, it may not be perfect, but it works in most cases.

Aah! Didn't notice that it was only for paid customers... OK, then I know!

    Thanks a lot!

You can do exactly that withe the noose(s) included in https://zonegfx.com/davos-terminus-4-total-carnage-package/, BUT, you will have to adjust it yourself, then save it as a wearable preset (you probably want to save the pose or part of the pose at the same time).

A tip: depending on what you want to do, sometimes you need two nooses, one part is around the neck and the other is hanging down in front or behind or whatever. Just "glue" them together so it looks OK and hide all the parts of the nooses that shouldn't be visible.

With Davo's noose you can do pretty much whatever you want.

NOTE! Davos noose is NOT for G9 (its for V4 and M4) but that doesn't matter as you have to do all the adjustments yourself and then parent it to lower neck of G8 or G9..

@gelstat I did a re-installation, files looks the same, BUT, now everything is working!

    Thanks a lot!

Thanks @gelstat but it still doesn't work...

So this is what I did:

    1. Load the hair without anything selected - hair comes in and hang in the air
    2. Use scene identification for figure and select G8F as preferred base
    3. Click on hair and fit to G8F

At this point the autofit dialogue comes up anyway, if I click on "Unsupported" it fits to the head but simulation doesn't work, if I click on "Cancel" it loads the hair with mismatch to the head and simulation doesn't work.

    What did I do wrong?

    @gelstat , I tested dForce AK Curly Long Hair G8.1 :

When loading the hair, it still opens the autofit menu. If I chose a G9 converter, the hair loads a fair bit above the head. If I chose "Unsupported", it loads correctly, BUT, simulation still gives an error message.

    What can be wrong.

Great @gelstat ! Will test them ASAP!

    Thanks a lot!
