I did some testing with a newer driver for my 4070ti (57? version) and was having some rendering issues with the scene going into an infinite load after a few scene adjustments. I just recently found out that the 566.36 is reported as the most stable release. I don't use the studio version, I play games as well so I use the game ready WHQL I think it's called. Doing some testing now and it appears to be working more smoothly with 566.36. Nvidia driver changes are a absolute PITA with the DDU cleaner and NvidiaCleanInstaller to remove bloat but man, it's looking like it's worth it so far.
@peepshow45
Yeah, it's worth it. I don't see any issues with loading those OOT hairs, not sure if you're getting that on your version but I recall having crashes from that in past versions. No crashes at all for me so far on 4.24.3 and working more smoothly with Nvidia driver 566.36.
@pooper
4.24.0.3 is what I'm using as the built in map transfer can operate more smoothly with 3Delight some times when I convert/optimize textures. Thanks for the insight on that, verifies that I need to stick to this version. I hate that it breaks some scripts, very disappointing; thanks for checking that out and reporting on it.March 13, 2026 at 3:50 PM #2167283Speaking of which, I'm currently pulling down 595.79 (...and why is it 736MB in size? Ugh.)
I'll report as soon as it goes in.
March 13, 2026 at 4:12 PM #2167287That's crazy for a driver size. I'm hearing that nvidia has been using AI to develop these recent drivers and they're having issues with them. I'm interested in your experience with that version, we both have 4000 series cards and I can only imagine there wouldn't be a difference in performance nor stability.
March 14, 2026 at 10:01 AM #2167378Well... google AI is full of crap. Nvidia driver 566.36 is depreciated so I went ahead and installed 595.79 studio driver and all is good so far.
April 15, 2026 at 2:32 PM #2172138Would be happy to get an update on DS 2026 Beta. Is it working better now? I especially need Manfriday's Render Queue and the Look At Me tool.
April 15, 2026 at 6:45 PM #2172147So far, so good... I popped in the latest (4/6) upgrade. I haven't run through all of the scripts yet, but most of the ones I use most often are working now.
Also, camera don't fade-to-black when you zoom in too far (Perspective View still does.) I do see that "Universal" and "Texture Shaded" viewport views are still identical, though.
April 16, 2026 at 7:25 PM #2172252Thanks a lot!
I really want to have NVIDIA 5090 (I now have 2X 2080 TI) with it's extra memory but before the change I sort of want to be certain that the combo 5090 and DS 2026 Beta will work -reasonably- smoothly, perfect is the enemy of good and I would be happy with more vram and a good work flow with 2026. I don't know but I guess 2080 would not work with 2026, do anyone know about that? Do anyone have advice of how to proceed here, when should I upgrade my computer?
April 16, 2026 at 8:36 PM #2172257@chonakz — From my experience, it’s still not worth it. Around 99% of scripts don’t work unless the product explicitly says they do (for example, Look at Me III works in v2026, but most others don’t).
That means you end up keeping both DAZ versions installed and constantly switching between them—using v4 for most tasks and v2026 just for rendering.
It becomes especially frustrating when you’re experimenting with something new. Just last week I tried a product from Meipe, and the amount of back-and-forth needed to preview different changes was so tedious that I eventually gave up.
April 17, 2026 at 10:16 AM #2172303@john09 Thanks! Then I know it's too early. I want to have 5090 as the standard GPU as I'm very interested in more memory, not so much faster rendering. Sigh, I guess it will be 6090 when it's time for an upgrade...

No idea- I have an old laptop with a 2070 I can use for testing, but it currently has Linux installed on it.
