The most recent free public issue [4.24.0.3] has a G9 clone for hair & clothing fitting.

4.23 does not, not even the most recent beta, but you can use Richard's fine G9-G8 clone available here.

    🙂

@eelgoo, thanks for the pointer. I'm pissed that I'd never noticed it before. I'll have to get some of those G9 clothes I've been avoiding.

Not seeing the option for fitting to G9 (just tested - have 4.24.0.3 precisely.)

Is there an additional package, perhaps (like in Essentials, or etc?)

I'll def. grab the clone, though.

On 4.24.0.3 it just appears at the top of the options drop down from the 'Fit to' window.

BTW it is to fit G9 items to G8. I'm not sure it does it the other way around. :0/

TBH I haven't picked up on any significant differences in performance between the two yet, but I do trust Richard's version.

It isn't 100%, but it is pretty damn good! 🙂

I grabbed Richard's version and it works perfectly so far, even w/ toon shapes - cheers!

I think I know what happened on my end, though, so I'll put the info here in case someone finds it useful:

Richard's version worked when I copied his morphs from my original Content directory, and onto the (separate) G9 Content directory. I've had to do this before - I think it's a bug in DS, but as you can see the workaround is easy and I'm too lazy to report it.

I can't find DAZ' built-in G9-G8 clone morphs to copy over to the data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\..\Morphs directory on the G9 Content directory, but the lack of duplication explains why I didn't see it.

@inversekinematics I have not had any problems with G9 clothes on G8, only with certain hairs, basically (almost) all longer hairs.

    @chonakz

    Thanks for the info!
I'm not a fan of strand hair so my library is very limited, and, I went back to 4.22 because a couple of scripts had been disabled by DAZ.

@felicia Thanks for the kind words!

There have been quite a few G9 hairs that I really wanted to use, now I at least have a decent solution...

Has anyone had any luck using GOZ on Kara Pony Tail (G9)?
(so you can make new MTs - and even a new default look)

    Another thing:
If you save a (G3/G8) character WITH, for example, Kara Pony Tail, and load this/same character later, the "hair" has lost its memory of where it belongs :-/ (sickeningly frustrating)
(Although this is probably because my characters are only FBMs,
    still - very annoying )

I save out the hair as a separate 'Wearable' duf

@eelgoo "I save out the hair as a separate 'Wearable' duf"

Could you explain that eelgoo - cuz I tried that too, but the hair is still positioned incorrectly, even on a default G8F/G8.1F, without a customized FBM.

Well basically I just fit it to the character & once I am happy with it all, I save it out as a wearable duf specific to that character.
