I don't know about all that, but he's certainly not the everyman he pretended to be. He's just more of the same BS we get with the estabishment, and he's their stooge to create a false shallow narrative of what's really going on, so they can swing the pendulum hard back to an opposite extreme in the future. Many of us just want both fake teams to go away and let the real voice of the people be heard. Both "teams" are tone deaf, and both of them are playing for the same outcome, against the people. They're trying to create a false reality not intended for us to believe, because they are counting on us all to be dead so they can manipulate the children of tomorrow with some skewed vision of reality. If we were able to time travel 100 years in the future, assuming they succeed, we would not even recognize their version of history or the insane rhetoric everyone repeats. We'd see it as a delusion, not even close to the reality we experienced. And it would heavily support the same jerks who are ignoring us all today.

Yeah, I know. I called his BS out in 2016 but people got mad at me for it and some even tried to kill me over it. Not even joking about that. I knew it was an insane cult of personality.

More than one person tried to kill you specifically for your political opinion? Do tell. I'm fascinated.

I knew it would happen sooner or later. Just as almost all tech has devolved down to the individual user, now it's AI's turn...

If you want to see a billion examples of 'the people' democratizing tech, read Hackaday,
https://hackaday.com/blog My garage is full of projects I've built using instructions from hackaday. A few didn't even blow up!

It was back in 2016, I had some "friends" that were all on the bandwagon, and they shot at me. Not much else to tell. I barely got away and never looked back. We're obviously not friends anymore.

Some of them don't just scan the books, they literally shred the books. Destroying history. Antique and ancient books are not just the words inside, they are the pages, and the ink itself, some of which are hard to reproduce today. Some of those older books are even more durable than books written only 50 years ago.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I like working with AI. Recently, I managed to restore some old family photos that were taken in the early 1900s. I was impressed by the results due to how perfectly the likenesses were recreated. I tried the same thing in Photoshop with less success. A family member sent the same pictures off to a professional for restoration a few years back and the results were terrible.

Daz seriously needs to up its game, but having said that, there will always be people who use it; the same with other artistic mediums. I don't think it's dying off any time soon. People like working with 3D, so there isn't any danger of it becoming obsolete in the near future.

AI has improved in leaps and bounds, when compared to how it behaved just two years ago. I recently watched an episode of an AI made series on YouTube, and while the movement and speech have some problems that need ironing out, the character consistency was amazing.

I still enjoy Daz, but get more lifelike results with AI. The people who are complaining fall into two camps; those with genuine concerns and those who are contrarians who make it their life's business to bitch about everything and virtue signal, based on their ideological affiliations. It really annoys me when someone makes a funny meme using AI and all the ''ackshully'' this is ''AI slop'' and you're ''damaging the environment'' crowd flood the comments. Jet fuel damages the environment too, but how many people are out there trying to ban air travel? I also have a pet peeve when it comes to the term ''AI slop'' which has now become a blanket description for all AI creations, when originally it meant really noticeable low effort AI images.

That's just my tuppence worth; I'm sure many will disagree. 🙂

@reinecarola, I'm interested in your workflow with AI for image restoration. I have a MASSIVE collection of vintage magazines I'm scanning and would love to give AI a crack at fixing them up, particularly the removal of the moire from the scanning process. There's someone on another forum that's doing this with excellent results but she won't share her technique.
    Thanks!

@supreme-leech If you don't have Comfy UI installed, d/l and install it.https://comfy.org/download Download a restoration workflow, use FLUX Kontext or Qwen Edit models. Then load a workflow that has image resizing and supports Lora. Then add your prompt and run.

If you don't fancy doing all that, you can do so online using Adobe Firefly. Firstly, upload a photo and edit using a prompt. It's not bad; the results are fairly decent and it's affordable (compared to Grok, everything is). There's also a cheap as chips Chinese owned site called Fotor which throws up mixed results.

Hope you're keeping well. I haven't been around here all that much lately. 🙂

@reinecarola, Thanks, I found it on Hugging Face. I've had Stable Difusion loaded on my graphics computer but haven't played much with it due to conflicting hobbies. I'll give it a go. I'm determined to do this on my own computer vice online so that I can (hopefully) point it at my collection and say "Sic 'em boy!"

As someone else who has comfyui and Daz and uses both, there are extreme limitations on getting anything truly complex and nuanced out of AI without serious setup. Multiple figures is a mess. It takes as much work to do straight AI work to get exactly the scene one wants than to pose, camera, light render in Daz and then run through AI for final touches, and the pure AI version tends to be blander in subject, more obvious, and always more things are comrpomised on to get it out. (And it is indeed a lot less fun)

And because of how AI art generation works, true detail and deeper, less easily crowdsourced subjects and output will continue to be difficult.

I think Daz has a particular place in actual creation workflows (like webtoon, etc) because the ability to craft a truly specific character easily is bar none the best but for where ZoneGFX sits - light fingered hobbiests doing things for themselves (guilty!) - AI can fill lots of those gaps so it makes sense visitors is going down?

    @ellajella, "Fun."
That's the ingredient that so many proponents of AI miss. 'Playing with dolls' in Studio is a scream. I can fiddle for hours on an image as my ideas change. What I want out of AI is to aid the process with (for example) real time draping of clothes, and collision simulation. Then there's rendering. dFarce needs to go, and Iray should be given the deep six (a Navy term for throwing something overboard to sink).
AI can/should be a great aid to bringing one's fantasies to life, but a replacement for all the various forms of art?...nope.
