How long before AI totally destroys the need for Daz?

In a few sentences I can create pretty much any scene or model I want with even the FREE version of Grok, Gemini, etc.

Let's put it to a test. Sincerely.

Without AI, create and render a reasonably complicated, diversely populated scene using DAZ Studio.

Post it where we can view it.

Then recreate that scene using AI...rotated 180º.

    And post it for comparison.

Stipulation: The AI render should seem to be the DAZ Studio scene rotated, not merely a similar scene.

Is that possible? Because it's possible in DAZ Studio.

Maybe that's the difference? Just a thought. If you have a result that satisfies you with just a few sentences, your "need for Daz" is probably already over.
But a few sentences do not make a complete work. You still get one that looks complete: The gaps were filled with the most likely, common, and mass-compatible snippets of North American culture imaginable.
Wouldn't be worth the time to me.

What I have yet to see from AI is repeatability of a character & their outfit in a sequence of renders.

Because I found Daz really hard to work with due to it's complex, bloated library, I would use anything else. I tried AI mostly due to the novelty of the concept. Maybe I was too late, but around a month or more ago the censors made it very boring. Also I produce sequential images to create story lines. I could do this on some AI sites, most have limits on how many images you could create before you have to donate all your savings, personal details, phone number, email etc. But there are still 2 free unlimited AI programs that don't need sign ups, I don't see them lasting the next roundup by the censors.
There isn't an easy way to create poses or facial expressions, often the character stares into the camera, so AI has a long way to go yet. I see hundreds of people complaining about AI on Deviantart. It's almost destroyed Youtube. The other way completely is using AI to enhance rendered images, but I could already do that in JASC paint program.

A more relevant question to ask, or approaching the concern from a different perspective would be to discuss the cost of producing comparable 2D content catering to the same market/audience using Daz vs AI workflows.

Would a professional artist proficient in Daz and owning licensed copies of content be able to charge less than someone proficient in AI tools workflows for generating similar professional quality output for the same consumer?

IMO, the economy of production at scale (once the quality threshold is surpassed) is going to be a major factor that will shape the market moving forward.

To me the only thing that I like about AI is potentially making snippet videos of a character I created in Daz. I just don't have the bandwidth to get into animation.

Also if there is someone who knows what they're doing to prompt AI to create realistic female bodies and is willing to chat I would appreciate it you could PM me please.

Commercially, DAZ (and Poser) are dead as a doornail.

This is the level of realism currently possible with AI:

    https://www.youtube.com/@ChloeVSHistory

(EVERYTHING is AI here, including Chloe herself. So much about "AI can't create consistent characters")

A single episode would take months to create using professional 3D tools.
Trying to achieve this quality using DAZ Studio or Poser would be completely ridiculous.

The problem is, DAZ got high on sniffing their own farts, and thought they could use Genesis to play with the "Big Boys".
Turns out, even the "Big Boys" can't keep up with the "Big Boys" anymore. Lol.

    So, where leaves us that?

Personally, I treat Poser just like a distinct art form.
I do optimize my figures a lot by resculpting and re-rigging, I optimize my shaders, lights, etc. to the max.

BUT I DO NOT TRY TO PRETEND THEY ARE ANYTHING OTHER THAN A POSER RENDER.

I still want my figures to be recognizeable as DAZ/Poser figures.
    I'd like people to say:
"Well, yes, this is Vicky 3, all right. But it's the very best Vicky 3 I've ever seen!"

That's why I don't use any postwork, either. I want my work to be pure, unadulterated POSER.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

That's how I can still keep Poser relvant for me. I very likely could do "better" artwork spending my time with any of the AI engines.
    Maybe I'll do someday.

But currently I have still too much fun just using Poser.

    BUT OF COURSE...

AI is simply wonderful and amazing.

Sure, it can (and will) be used for mindless slop, but so has any technological innovation so far.
    But the possibilities are limitless.

Maybe I could turn all my favorite books into full fledged TV shows?

Maybe I'll even live long enough to experience an actual TNG style Holodeck?

Maybe everyone having the "perfect" AI Girl- or Boyfriend will make us a lot less aggressive as a species?

Again, I still love to work with Poser.
I used it to build my own little "MATRIX" to keep me sane in an insane world.

I already built my own "Tilly" long ago.

But for all the others who can't:

I mean something that doesn't seem to be mentioned too much is that there is a composition difference between something like AI and 3D. In 3D you have a number of assets and you have to navigate a 3D space to place the assets to generate a scene which all takes time and imagination to do. The composition through AI is having to figure out how to use language to direct the AI to generate what you're imagining. They are pretty different types of composition. None of this is to bash on either one. But since AIRE came out I have been messing with it and I personally find AI to be pretty fucking obnoxious. The reason is that I have not developed the esoteric jargon language to prompt it to do what I want it to do. Where I don't have to explain anything to anyone with 3D I just have an idea and it's up to my ingenuity to make the scene happen. So yeah it's a skill thing that makes me not want to use it. Not to mention the impacts on the environment plus mass surveillance.

You think that's amusing? I think it's disgusting and pathetic! Sorry, but I'm just wired differently.
