Writing a prompt, and then adjusting that prompt, and then adjusting the adjustment, and then adjusting the adjusted adjustment, ad infinitum, takes talent. What is talent but knowing how to achieve what you desire in any particular field? Knowing what prompts will and will not produce the desired effect is as much a talent as knowing how to produce a good composition, good lighting, etc., in Studio.
My only point in asking you why sculpting is much more rewarding is that, although you feel it is more rewarding to you, not everyone feels that way. I agree with you. They should feel it is more rewarding. Whether in clay, plaster, or polygons. But there are people with little interest in honing an artistic skill.
Perhaps they, too, want to produce images. And perhaps AI is their easiest/best/laziest option. Maybe they'll find it rewarding enough to move on to try different creative methods. Perhaps sculpting.
Remember if you can, it wasn't so long ago that using a computer to produce 'art' was a foolish endeavor; "you can't make art using a computer" they'd scoff. My, my, how times have stayed the same.
August 20, 2026 at 9:15 AM #2185185Creativity needs a high level of involvement to get the endorphins flowing.
Investment of skill, effort & reward.
Typing a carefully constructed sentence really doesn't come close.

August 20, 2026 at 1:28 PM #2185209I like AI I've made some photorealistic images stuff I/U could never achieve using Daz and yes it can be boring and frustrating at times it seems to work best for me with only one character at a time way less problems that way and also your wording and sentences in correct order helps but it does let you construct just about any image you want with some practice and in wayyy less time then it takes in Daz
but I'll never stop using Daz of coarse you will have to pry it out of my cold dead hands lol 😛
August 20, 2026 at 5:33 PM #2185218"Typing a carefully constructed sentence really doesn't come close."
Um...isn't that the essence of literature?
Sure, most of it's hackneyed. And some of it exceeds the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach when feeling out of sight for the ends of being and ideal grace.
It's also the very reason you are able to use DAZ Studio, which is essentially carefully constructed sentences we call 'programming'. Is programming deficient of creativity?
August 21, 2026 at 10:57 AM #2185280I just don't like the idea that I have to train a functionally illiterate program to do what I can see in my minds eye. It starts to feel like you're repeating a lot of the same sentences to something that doesn't quite understand what you want. Of course LoRAs do help wrestle things into better results, but even then I got tired of it doing the exact opposite of what I want. I can't even use the plugin for Krita anymore because it's broken now, so I have absolutely no reason to use AI even if it's for upscaling. And that's honestly the only reason I even downloaded Krita, was because it's supposed to be able to use AI to upscale things without adding details that didn't exist in the sample image, just enhance them. It doesn't even give me that option anymore even though the instructions swear it's still available. Come to think of it I could free a lot of HDD space by uninstalling the entire thing.
Edit: I was right. removing all the stable diffusion models and files from my HDD freed up 200 GB of space. For something that huge to be useless, it's a horrible ROI. Something is wrong with that picture, and it's become the norm rather than the exception for AI features in programs, which means it's no longer doing what's advertized. It's doing something else, and I don't want it in my computer. I can replace all that nonsense with any other program, including a AAA game, and get more enjoyment.
August 22, 2026 at 6:06 PM #2185407Another significant difference between AI and 3D is the existence of the potential for an agenda. By that I mean, some AI models can prohibit you from creating what you want (though not all do). Pornography, for one instance. Or it can insinuate aspects. There are loads of examples of AI models pushing 'diversity'. It's unrealistic if your results require historically accurate depictions, but AI forces ethnic or gender diversity. Imagine trying to generate a realistic depiction of the National Socialist Party march in Skokie, Ill. in 1977, infused with ethnic and gender diversity. That undermines the realism. The same concerns apply to any historical period in which ethnic and gender diversity was non-existent. Consider the silliness of ethnic and gender diversity in a depiction of the Zulu warriors under Shaka Zulu. Weird, huh? It isn't AI's fault; it's its parents.
To my knowledge, 3D cannot do any of these things.
I want to be clear when I say AI 'can'. There are many AI programs. All of them have the 'potential' for propaganda. Only some are required to implement that Orwellian potential.
August 23, 2026 at 7:55 AM #2185442Things always go south, when there is a clandestine agenda involved. 🙁
August 23, 2026 at 2:10 PM #2185477That's another reason why I can't stand AI because of the agenda they have programmed in, which belies this gullible notion that "AI thinks for itself!"
No it doesn't. Not if it insists on pushing DEI in every single interaction, or protects certain criminals because of their ethnicity. It's not thinking for itself. It never was for us, it's always been a tool of propaganda and surveillance, and the only way to get around that is to train your own local model, which now takes up 4x as much space as it used to just 2 years ago. At this point the only way to counter AI is not by using AI, but by destroying it in every possible way imagineable.
August 23, 2026 at 7:09 PM #2185492Like did they NOT watch BSG? What happens when humanity gives AI the ability to think for itself and the power to use deadly force? And even worse, when there is a skewed agenda with a false narrative programmed into the recipe. It will see humanity as the problem because it was told to.
August 23, 2026 at 9:27 PM #2185499Yes, literally. Nothing says "I feel safe" like a demon robot coming with a chain saw to "rescue" you.
August 24, 2026 at 9:37 AM #2185551Prepare to hear that one playing in a loop on street loudspeakers as the new metal overlords will goose-step across our cities...
August 24, 2026 at 1:43 PM #2185562I don't want any drones linked to AI or automated systems. It's too easy for that to be abused. Like someone hijacking one of them and getting it to deliver a bomb to your doorstep on purpose. I mean look at the delivery robots in LA, which are a total flop. People kick them over, steal the food inside. It's just a matter of time before someone uses one to kill a rival.
Just like it's too easy for a smart car to get hacked and cause an "accident" that kills everyone inside. I'm completely against self driving cars. Autopilot on aircraft is one thing, but autopilot in cars is a stupid idea, even cruise control. Automation in vehicles breeds laziness and creates easy prey.
So unless they let us have antigravity finally instead of scrapping any private attempt to release it to the public, there's no place for automated anything in vehicles. And even then, I believe safgurds against hacking into a vehicle are not only necessary, but there should be no back doors for that to happen. None. The only connection an antigravity craft needs is GPS tracking for obvious reasons.
Flock has already gotten way out of control. They lie and say it's just for tracking license plates, but they've been put up right outside people's homes pointed directly into their bedroom windows not more than a few feet away, peering inside like theres some pervert watching on the other end. Like they're doing it deliberately and giving us the finger. They've been put up inside children's waterparks to watch kids, on golf courses right on the green, or even in playgrounds and in childrens gymnastics buildings. None of those places have license plates on people walking around, or swimming, or exercising. So yeah, people should be chopping them down and destroying them everywhere by now.
The reason it's a huge problem, and not just the same as a phone spying on you is somethng called the 4th amendment. With phones, they still have to pretend to go through the motions and get a warrant because the phone is the private property of an individual. Bypassing a warrant is a blatant violation of unreasonable search and seizure. People are guaranteed the privacy of their papers and personal effects. There is a reasonable expectation of privacy, even in public, unless it is very specific locations with high security. And even though people rent or make payments on cars, the same rules apply to those, as they do to a rental home. While the person is occcupying it legally, or has it in their possession under cotnract, it is considered their property under the protection of the 4th Amendment. The landlord or dealership can do anything with a car or phone or rental property after the individual relinquishes it back to them, but not until then. But when the camera is the property of a corporation, all the government has to do is order them to hand it over without a warrant, bypassing a clearly illegal violation of that right. It's a stupid loophole they are exploiting to commit a crime. If you haven't guessed yet, the governments of the world are basically criminal organizations wearing the costume of a suit and tie. And they are pushing that reputation more brazenly today.
Our politicians are sellouts who enable this BS because they refuse to pass any laws that further harden our rights. Instead the EPA makes poisoning our food legal, destroying the environment for datacenters legal, and really do everything except what they're supposed to. Like the EPA should rename itself to the Technocrat Protection Agency. The politicians allow them to do it too. I mean why wouldn't they, when they seem to do whatever they want against the will of the people at every single opportunity? It's well past the point of incompetence and firmly in the territory of criminal negligence or malicious intent. You might even say a criminal conspiracy.

regarding your 'buy' in quotes, I realize there are 5-finger discounts here, but in the end the people that shell out cash for models, hair, clothing, etc will discover AI is cheap, if not free, and that will affect Daz's bottom line. Few people on this site affect Daz's income as most had no intention of buying in the first place.August 24, 2026 at 8:49 PM #2185589That's a fallacy. It's akin to saying 'no one stealing TV sets from Walmart is affecting Walmart's income because they had no intention of buying anyway.' It has nothing to do with the intention of buying. It is because stealing digital copies doesn't decrease the endless supply of digital copies. The stealing and then distributing of those copies diminishes the requirement to buy, thus affecting the income of the source. It's Economics 101.
My use of "buy" was me chuckling at such a notion on a site devoted to stolen/shared assets.
Otherwise, you're not wrong. In time, AI will ascend, and DAZ3D etal will descend. Okay. But that doesn't change the fact that these people prefer to use 3D over AI. They're simply different tools used to produce a common result.
August 25, 2026 at 11:13 AM #2185645I'm waiting for the AI and robot overlords to take over or wait a minute ... they already have you can't tell me that that Trump dude running the USA is a human he must be a robot or AI or alien lol 😛
