@otero33 Thanks for clearing that out for me. I thought that might be the case with them, but I haven't installed or tested any. Just collecting them out of nostalgia or something like that 🙂
Now when you've said this, I have no intention to try them.
March 18, 2026 at 5:37 PM #2167912There is a noticeable recent significant trend towards slapdash laziness, not exclusively, but especially in G9 products at Daz. 🙁
March 19, 2026 at 8:31 AM #2167974@eelgoo Exactly, the decline in versatility and quality is clearly visible.
That's why I started this thread in the first place, to make a list of vendors who still put some effort and care for their models and their customers. To make a list of something worth purchasing, not just a generic C/P Frankenstein/robot models.
As we can see, the list is not long, sadly.
March 19, 2026 at 4:17 PM #2168013100% agree about Feng and Kooki. I love their models because they actually look like real people instead of sex dolls (which I understand is what 99.9% of Daz users are using it for, but still, a little realism never hurt anyone). I also appreciate Feng for making older-aged characters. Those are shockingly hard to come by, especially for female characters.

March 20, 2026 at 4:10 PM #2168224Thanks for the recommendation Slanna! They have some really interesting characters, which I always like to see.

They make good bodies in my opinion.
March 21, 2026 at 10:50 AM #2168316Personally, I like the body shapes by creators like Soft3D, Pendragon, and Exart3D. The only frustrating part is that some Daz3D vendors like Herschel Hoffmeyer with his stunning HH Lilith for Genesis 9 hard-bake their morphs and HD details into the character. It’s a shame they aren't available separately, so they could be mixed and matched with any other options.
March 21, 2026 at 1:09 PM #2168322@jabaduhut Totally agree. He/she/they/them are also in my library in DAZ.
@ramabay I can't agree with you, all of the vendors you've mentioned have almost the same bodies on all of their figures. I don't even want to talk about unnatural faces. But, my niche is probably different than yours. I mean, I understand and respect your opinion, but I have one too 🙂
It's like an ass - everyone has one 😀
Neither one of them is in my library, except HLME3D (or if they are published under DO tag).About HH - I totally understand why he does it. He makes very detail oriented models that looks amazing. Although I'm not a fan of his human models, clothes and animal and other models are stunning. Why would he be granting the opportunity for everyone to copy his morphs and make similar models, lowering his reputation and income? Business move that I agree with. A lot of time and effort is invested in his items.

You’re right, everyone has their own taste. I do have a few body morphs from Feng, Daz Originals, NerdWorks, Uncanny Valet, Kooki99, and some other creators that I occasionally use for mixing.
As for Herschel Hoffmeyer and similar creators—I also perfectly understand why they lock their morphs specifically to their characters. Luckily, I’ve already managed to decouple the HD morphs from the body. Now I just need to figure out a few more things regarding their other morphs. I’ve always valued versatility.March 21, 2026 at 1:51 PM #2168324Exactly. While versatility is something that I can agree with you, my main goal is to load character in DAZ and then export it to Blender (or Zbrush). Not too much messing around with morphs or adjustments.
That's something specific for the people who works almost everything in DAZ.
Although sometimes I go astray and spend hours on playing with morphs, scripts and tweaks 🙂
I just need the character that's already 80-90% finished and almost ready for rigging. 10-20% I do by myself in other software.March 21, 2026 at 4:07 PM #2168327These are the G9 vendors I collect. Some of them have 2-3 G9 models, some of them have dozens. But, the list is rather small compared to what I had for G8 🙂

Check it out, maybe you've missed some of them (I doubt, but it can be), and suggest the ones you think I've missed.
[EDIT 1] I know that I've missed one vendor on RH, haven't bookmarked him and now I can't find him.
Hopefully he'll post something soon.[EDIT 2] And if you decide to collect only these vendors, this is what you can expect:
March 21, 2026 at 4:58 PM #2168331@ramabay I’m not going to tell anyone whether to support a PA or not, but I don’t want to miss the chance to highlight a few details about their work and help potential customers make a final decision.
I’m pretty convinced that Pendragon is one of the most cookie cutter PA’s out there basically blending existing characters and repackaging them into the kind of ultra fast releases Daz seems to prioritize. It even feels like the recent Daz Original characters were commissioned to him, with promo materials thrown together in an afternoon by other person, given the repeated naming errors, typos, and obvious copy-paste descriptions.
His characters don’t really show any sign of HD detail (a tool only available to a few PA's, and you need skill to use it), and the same goes for the Shooting Star DOs, they all seem to be merged in a very similar way.
I keep spotting what looks like the already released DO characters (Michale, Pixie, Dain etc) dials reused across a lot of his releases. When you dial them yourself daily your eyes learn to catch the traces.I mean… he’s put out over 150 characters in just a single year.
March 21, 2026 at 5:52 PM #2168338I am traveling and not in front of my PC, nevertheless, I feel a few vendors and their G9 character body morphs are worth mentioning that I do not see in your collection. I exclusively use G9 but, I am not sure what your needs, preferences or alignment are towards your usage of G9 chars, so I will address at a broad spectrum based on my past usages and preferences.
For adult male characters, I would refer sithlordsims (RH), geserty's popular and versatile Orc and Henry (RH), Male-M3dia (Daz). Don't underestimate geserty's Orc body, as I have found it more suitable than (even) SimonWM's morphs in many scenarios, especially when dialled in lower strengths. MM3D models often come with their own anatomical morphs which could be a hit or a miss depending on your...
For older females I would refer Emrys (Daz), assuming they are still active. I have mostly used their Mayra and Myrtle chars and found them quite suitable for modest caucasian representation (not the strongly ethnic or tribal types). Emrys has demonstrated their versatility across multiple genres, so do check them out.
For younger characters, I can refer PFA (Daz), since I cannot align myself with zev0's depiction of youthful chars. My go-to young char is one of Vootw's heads on a younger Cressida's body, which in turn, relies on The Age for G9 (after applying the correctives).
Again these, are just some of the G9 vendors that have made a lasting impression on me and I found them missing in your collection. Since I won't have access to my PC for a few weeks, I might edit this post at a later date to include a few more.
