If someone can show another example of animation in DAZ Studio for comparison, then you can do it now
Well here it is : https://youtu.be/Va3Yns20yoI
(animation made by @massico)
December 9, 2019 at 3:01 PM #1368954Took me a couple of seconds to figure out wether it was Elliot or CGI. Very nice work.
December 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM #1363377Your idea was good but for some reason it didn't work. I ended with some unwanted morphs, I don't know why.
I found a solution by ERC Freezing, it created a morph out of my animation. Cheers.
October 4, 2019 at 8:21 AM #1272104Hidding the frame is a bad idea in my opinion.
With all the interface, panels and so on, it is more likely that you viewport isn't using full screen. So if you're about to render a 1920x1080 image you can't "see" exactly the proportion of your scene that'll fit in that canvas.
That's why the aspect frame stands for. It is here to show you the canvas/proportion of the image you are gonna render as it is defined in the "Dimension Preset" parameter you can find under the "Render settings" tab.
If you set this parameter to "Active viewport" the frame disappears because it perfectly fits what you see in the viewport.
September 19, 2019 at 10:06 PM #1252822Auto-fit works *most* of the time. The method I explain above works all the time. It's taken from Sickleyeld's blog at DeviantArt's which is full of useful tutorials to convert things from G3 to G8 and vice versa.
September 19, 2019 at 12:11 PM #1252273You are using a Genesis 8 item on a Genesis 3 figure and you probably used auto-fit feature, that's why you lost the item's morphs.
When using a Gen 8 item on a Gen 3 figure you should do this :
_Load the item without fitting it : deselect your figure and load the RH8 hair as this.
_Change the preferred base : select the hair, go to "Edit/Figure/Scene Identification", click the three dots next to "Preferred base" ans choose "Genesis 3/Female".
_Fit the item to your figure : select the hair, right click and "Fit to"... you know the rest.
_Enjoy your G8 item on you G3 figure with all morphs working.Note : This method works both ways G3>G8 or G8>G3 and for any conforming item such a hairs, clothes, and so on.
OR
You may just use the Genesis 3 version of those hairs (but it's less funny) 😀
September 10, 2019 at 11:14 AM #1239958I may be wrong but to me UC_jessie uses Linda Ponytail by OOT.
August 2, 2019 at 2:50 PM #1186490As far as I know, those hairs aren't in the wild yet. They never were. I agree it's a bit weird to have the texture expansion shared and not the main hair especially considering that every hairs created by OOT are systematically shared a short time after they are released.
July 31, 2019 at 11:56 AM #1183765I personnaly moved my 400GB "data" folder on a SSD drive (I can't move my whole Daz3d library cause it's about 3,5TB lol) and I noticed a significant loading time improvement but it still requires about 2 or 3 minutes to load a single G8F.
July 31, 2019 at 8:24 AM #1183578@Trader : same problem here simply because I have way too much things installed. The more morphs you have in your "data" folder, the longer it will take for the related figure to load.
May 27, 2019 at 2:38 PM #1095805One thing you can do to relieve you GPU a little is apply custom shaders (such as Sloshwerks' Colorwerks) on those hairs because the default OOT shaders have way too much specularity/glossiness which has a very high impact on rendering performance AND makes hairs looks like doll hairs imo.
May 24, 2019 at 8:00 AM #1091406@aftyrbyrn thank you for sharing this. On my computer, your script gave an error in powershell but I managed to make a .bat file that does quite the same even if this method seems a bit radical to me.
We still really lack an efficient content cleaner/organizer tool. I've been using Daz for years, my library is 1.6TB large and it takes around 4 minutes to load G8F... 😀
May 23, 2019 at 11:04 AM #1090273I'd be very interested in your script too if you agreed to share it.
February 7, 2019 at 8:35 AM #951260Yup and it's available right here on the Zone. For some reason I missed it.
February 6, 2019 at 8:23 AM #949953Great, thanks a lot !
