It is worth playing with for me, since I use a Mac. I can at least use filament now. And, although still way slower than with an Nvidea card, Iray is somewhat faster. The biggest improvement is the speed at which characters (particularly G9) are loaded. I accidently trashed my data folder recently by clicking "replace" instead of "merge" with a manual install - so I thought it would be a good time to try G9 again. And, at least on an M4 Mac, characters load about 3 times as fast.

There's plenty of issues still, being an alpha - the viewport can be laggy with Iray, any products relying on scripts (i.e., the above mentioned Meipe stuff) likely needs to be updated, any plugins will need to be recompiled, etc. So unless you have a recent Nvidea card that needs the alpha for Iray to work, or you use a Mac, it is certainly best to wait. It is a parallel install, though, so it doesn't interfere with your regular install.

Hi - I forgot that Dropbox required an account. I still had the downloaded zip file, which I can share:

They posted dropbox links with updated scripts for the 2025 alphas in the support forum - here's the thread for G8:

Just a note that Kemono Patreon scraping is working again, apparently - some of the Daz related creator pages have been updated for the first time in a few months. Worth a look now.

You can load the g8.1 morphs as intended on the base G8.1 female. Then dial down the 2 mouth realism sliders to 0 (find them by selecting "currently used" on the shaping tab). Set the resolution under "mesh resolution level" to Base. Then, with the character selected, export to an obj file. Load the base G8F and use morph loader pro to import the .obj you just made. If the changes the morph make are large enough, you might need to use the joint editor tool to "adjust rigging to shape" and do an ERC freeze. Then you can save a new morph slider with file-save as-support asset-modifier asset. Then you'll have the same face morph as whatever you name it for G8F characters.

If you are adding multiple morphs at once, and plan to reuse the character, they can all be combined into one morph this way. But it is a nice way to use G8.1 morphs on G8. You'll get errors and really messed up teeth if you don't zero the G8.1 mouth realism, though.

Edit: I realize I left out a few things. Before exporting to .obj, you need to hide or delete the eyelashes too. And when importing the .obj with morph loader pro, you'll find a morph slider with the.obj file's name. You can load its parameters and change the name, colors, and it is usually good to set the lower limit to 0, rather than the default -100. This tutorial covers the basics of it for G8 (aside from moving from g8.1 to G8). Don't miss his pinned note regarding ERC freeze (which he forgot to do in the video). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ1TOAqIzeU&t=126s

I was recently watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXssz90XFEA to learn G9 to G8 conversion. It seems what is needed is the opposite of the posted item - a G8F skinsuit for G9. Although it is a confusing process, so I might be completely wrong 🙂

edit: I was thinking specifically about the morph - maybe for textures the posted item is more useful.

For the 5 or 6 totocandy products I have, I always get the impression that the morphs should not be dialed in to 100%. Features just seem too exaggerated. If I dial the head and body in at 75%, they look more like the promo pictures.

FT2 is a little intriguing to me as a Mac user, as FT1 hasn't been available for Mac. So even if it is not better than FT1, it is better than nothing. I will need to install the beta and take a look.

I'm away from my computer for a few days, but I am curious if the morph sliders show up under the parameters tab when you have a G9 character loaded and selected? If I recall, you can filter with "Ida" to see them all - but I may be remembering wrong... Edit: Oh, sorry - I can see in Abad's image it is "InA". Abad's image is an example of exactly what I am asking - you can see the morph sliders.

For the characters, see this thread:

    But who is it ?

You can probably ask information about the school there too.

I had weird/wrinkly results on a few custom characters I had built using merchant resource morph sliders and then baked into single character morphs. I think that the problem ended up being that the script was not working well on my characters that had required adjusting the rigging with the joint editor and an ERC freeze. I tried going back to my original obj file, re-importing that, NOT adjusting the joints, and making a new character preset with that new morph. Then the conversion to G9 went well. Still no luck with mats though, but I need to look at the manual a bit more.

In short - it seems to work when I feed it GF8 characters that are default G8F size, and not work when they are taller/shorter and needed joint editor work when creating them.
