Is there a way to use the face morphs of a Genesis 8.1 girl on a Genesis 8 girl?
November 9, 2024 at 6:01 PM #2101552As far as I know, you cannot apply Genesis 8.1 morphs on Genesis 8. But you can apply Genesis 8 morphs on 8.1 so why don't you apply the genesis 8 body morph on the 8.1 character instead?
November 9, 2024 at 6:16 PM #2101553You can load the g8.1 morphs as intended on the base G8.1 female. Then dial down the 2 mouth realism sliders to 0 (find them by selecting "currently used" on the shaping tab). Set the resolution under "mesh resolution level" to Base. Then, with the character selected, export to an obj file. Load the base G8F and use morph loader pro to import the .obj you just made. If the changes the morph make are large enough, you might need to use the joint editor tool to "adjust rigging to shape" and do an ERC freeze. Then you can save a new morph slider with file-save as-support asset-modifier asset. Then you'll have the same face morph as whatever you name it for G8F characters.
If you are adding multiple morphs at once, and plan to reuse the character, they can all be combined into one morph this way. But it is a nice way to use G8.1 morphs on G8. You'll get errors and really messed up teeth if you don't zero the G8.1 mouth realism, though.
Edit: I realize I left out a few things. Before exporting to .obj, you need to hide or delete the eyelashes too. And when importing the .obj with morph loader pro, you'll find a morph slider with the.obj file's name. You can load its parameters and change the name, colors, and it is usually good to set the lower limit to 0, rather than the default -100. This tutorial covers the basics of it for G8 (aside from moving from g8.1 to G8). Don't miss his pinned note regarding ERC freeze (which he forgot to do in the video). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ1TOAqIzeU&t=126s

Thank you
That worked!
Creating a new dial was actually easy.
But now I can't apply the head texture of the original G8.1 character on my G8 character.
Does it have to do with the UV maps?
or what?November 13, 2024 at 1:45 PM #2102400Anonymous
InactiveRank:
G8 has a single zone for torso and neck. G8.1 separates them into separate areas with separate UV's.
G8.1 can wear G8 skins, but not vice versa.
Yoy may fins your G8.1 skin is actually build on G8 maps - many are and have the neck included in the texture. If that's the case you can manually load them in the surfaces tab. If they are true 8.1 skins with no neck in the body, youYou could take the head textures, rescale and apply them to the body maps to bacically reverse engineer a G8 skin if you particularly felt like it.
Though personalyl I don't see why you'd need to apply anG8.1 character on a G8.
