I prefer to just make several different directories where to install stuff and then use CMS Sets feature on DAZ. This way - for example - if I don't need very aged men or women I load a CMS without the folders where those characters are installed.
same for morphs, expressions with sliders, genesis main figures etc. And same different paths for other stores stuff (RE, RO, FR and so on).
This way I can be very picky (Only Genesis Essentials + morphs, or only Essentials + Best Characters and so on) or just load everything by simply using the menu on Content Library tab.anyway about the sara1985 method, maybe it can be quicker leaving packages on DIM folder (unchecking the Delete setting) and install/unistall when need.
@eelgoo I had the impression that someone said he was going to upload as soon as updated, I'll check the pending stuff and if it's not there I'll upload all I have in the next hours: G8 male and female, add-ons for G3s and G8s..
yea legal and pretty standard, maybe bad explained..
but I still don't get why each PA needs to add extra statement in their readme while what really and only counts it's the store licence, in this case renderosity one..
Of course, no need anything special, just pin hand and maybe main chest part..
If you are just starting using daz I would recommend reading the starting guides, you'll find a lot of useful tips that you'll discover only with trials, errors and wasted time 👍
@assetsguy from what I noticed, DAZ does not really use CPU that much during normal use (posing, morphing, browsing and adding stuff etc). When it comes to render DAZ does not WANT to use your CPU if you render with Iray: so if you enough RAM into your GPU it will use the GPU (much faster); if not it will fallback to CPU.
CPU is more important - on the contrary - when rendering with 3Delight, that does not use GPU.
In any case for what I saw, when DAZ needs to use the CPU to render it uses 100% of every thread and core (but you have the option to limit this in the Advanced Render Settings - CPU affinity and limit cores usage).
So, in a nutshell, if you notice DAZ using your CPU when rendering I would still upgrade the GPU because there's no way a CPU will be faster then a GPU (well, a good GPU, of course - no need to say it must nVidia to use Iray).

it would be nice to have a little program or script or I don't know that compares the zip content files with files reported from the readme section of the products..

so what packages still need to be compared with safe sources? I could consider spending my PC coupons of the months for something.. I'm not really into fantasy and sci-fi so I would prefer to take something I could use..it's the second issue in a few days coming from that site..
what's the point adding stuff to make characters unusable if not after fixing things? I mean: are you def or what?
I have the same identical drive, seagate 4TB 2cv104. I had the same issue as soon as I started using the disk, but I managed to solve somehow (if I recall by reformatting with 512 kilobyte cluster size)..
the problem with this disk is that it's a SMR one, while most of the disks are PMR (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shingled_magnetic_recording): you can read more online but there's quite a debate about manufacturers selling SMR disks without clearly stating it, because they are less performing when you need to edit and read smaller files..
Also - because of the dimensions of the disk 4Tb on 2.5'' - it has only 5400 RPM; I wouldn't recommend using this disk for software or for daz; I use it for backups and downloads..
