Well I suppose we could wait till the Halloween Contest. 😛
Until the site is truly fixed we can't do much of anything. Seems like there a still quite a few problems that need to be ironed out. We just need to wait for Hunter to get it done. 🙂

NinianeHey guys! I'm finally able to log in again! Sorry I was away for a while, but I couldn't log in, plus I was sick so I really didn't feel like dealing with the waiting game when it did decide to let me in!
Everyone has made some really good points here, but we all know we can't please everyone!!
If we go with the Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy theme there will definitely be a mandatory "something" that has to be included in the render in order for it to be judged. I'll get with @Warrant63 now that I'm back and we can discuss it. @Frank22 maybe we could get together on Discord with Warrant and have a debate! 😛

Hey guys. Warrant and I will be doing this again (and anyone who wants to help...) First we need to decide on the themes. There should be two themes, each should have an AI category, and a Daz/Poser/Blender, Max, etc. category. It really doesn't matter how you render it, but using assests from the Blog would be nice. 🙂
So far we have as suggestions:
Lovecraftian (Horror)
Good Ole Summertime (Historical/Regency/Baroque Era,etc.)
Day at the Beach (Contemporary or Pinup/50's, etc.)
One Fine Day (Contemporary Or Imaginary)
Once Upon a Time (Fantasy)
Four Seasons (Frank said it's winter there... 😛 This could work)Not everyone likes horror, not everyone likes fantasy, not everyone likes historical. I know this. 🙂 But we need to decide which is the most likely accepted themes, and then we will give you the rundown on the rules and Warrant will set up the Donation Request like last time. 🙂
I also liked Tincz suggestion of the type rather than theme... will discuss this with Warrant. 🙂

Obviously not everyone is interested in creating Lovecraftian Renders... MONSTERS EEEEK! How bout we do two comps like last time and have two different Themes. Lovecraft for those of you who are into HORROR, and maybe Good Old Summertime for those with a lighter heart! ???
I can talk to Warrant, not sure we can do the same thing again, may need to have help 🙂
Warrant carried me through the last comp because I had NO idea what to do. It turned out pretty good I think, not because of me, but because of his hard work with all the scripting and stuff. He's amazing.
I was just thinking about this, and lo and behold, ADAM beat me to it. 🙂 🙂 Yay ADAM!
It will all depend on how busy Warrant is... we'll let you know. 🙂

NinianeSo.... if we download a file from here that was originally purchased from Renderhub, (Not purchasing that file ourselves) do we still need to do this search and destroy routine?
I've never purchased anything from Renderhub, and it's been years since I purchased from Rosity.. all mine come from DAZ.
I just need to clarify what I need to do with any file I download from here that was from RenderHub...

NinianeI have an Alienware 28 inch... and it is really nice. I wish it were 32 inch, but it was bit too pricey. Probably Black Friday will have all kinds of sales at Dell.. (this is available in Europe right?l) Not familiar with other places except Amazon, maybe Tiger Direct? But just search for "best monitors under $1000" and you should get some ideas... 🙂
I wish I had one of those really wide monitors, or at least a three monitor set up like I see the gamers use!

@Gaver they have been reporting things for a long, long time. It's been suggested in the past to use bunkr because they will not take down your files.
Mega will take down files, and as I understand it, whole accounts at times. And since anyone can see the posts, anyone can report them. There's no way to stop that.
Bunkr has all kinds of porn ads. I know this because when I went there to make my account, I got not just one add, but a whole PAGE of porn ads! At first I closed it out, then I decided it was a need, to prevent my pics from being taken down so I went back, and... there were no ads. Crazy. Now I just go to my saved link and upload... no ads. No problems.
You do need an Ad Blocker. Origin Ad Blocker is said to be the best for that site.
It won't hurt to try it 🙂

But you can't please ALL of the people ALL of the time....I would also like not having to see the porn pics that just have some of the pic blacked out... it is still showing a lot. But I pass on by... Oh wow @Frank22 that pic really Offends me... I must be easily offended! 😉 Actually if everyone would use that instead of just blacking out the "offensive"? parts... it would be much better for me. 🙂 Honesly though, the names of some of the files are more offensive than the pics. 😛
Thing is, our mods have enough to do without adding more to their workload, so until we have a new server with a new site -as I understand only so much can be done with wordpress- with separate links for all the different categories, we can probably forget changes like that.
I'm happy with the latest changes that were made, and I'm sure it was no easy task to accomplish, so THANK YOU to all who worked on it. Very much appreciated.
For now let's just all try to accept the things we cannot change, find the skills to change the things we can, and seek the wisdom to know the difference. (Yea, I changed that up a bit. 🙂 )
