G9 is 100% a niche product for me. G8F is far more useful. I have a ton of morphs installed for G9 and can't just dial in a good-looking figure like I can with G8F. I have a handful of characters that look amazing for G9, and for them I'll use the figure, but otherwise, forget it. And I still have to run down bad JCMs in those characters that make the figure effectively unable to raise its arms without massive distortion. All the crap you have to parent/fit to it (mouth, eyes, etc.) slow the figure down to a crawl when dialing morphs or posing.
Edit: and most of the FBMs for G9 (i.e., the ones that come with character products) are just flat-out garbage.
G8 is 95%+ of my work and G9 is less than 5%.
I guess it's just something to do with the age of the content or maybe dead links, because I see "buy" links for new uploads.
Yeah, materials. I've got genx and another converter, so moving morphs is no big deal (until it comes to moving morphs to g8 males, I got nothing for that yet), and I've got autofit and the new converters, so clothes are pretty easy to convert. But I've got no way of using G1 materials on G3 or G8, and there are quite a few I'd like to use. Beast Man, Brute, Cat World, Creature from the Depths, Mr Hyde, Strigoi, etc. (not actually sure if those are all G1 UVs; the ones that are M5 I can use on later figures. But I do remember that Beast Man is G1, he's one of my favorites).
Thanks. I have that, but going by the description, it only has A5, S5, D5, and M5 UVs.
I really wish they'd release Legacy UV products containing base Genesis UV set and some of the missed G2F sets like A6. Especially Genesis base, I have a bunch of stuff I'd love to use on G3M or G8M. I can kinda see how the author skipped A6 because there might not be much use, but there are a lot of nice Genesis base sets that could benefit.
Tucker, try loading light presets and parenting them to the camera. A lot of lighting presets load to look great from the default camera location, but when you move the camera, you're ditching that great lighting setup. But if you parent the lights to the camera, they'll move along with you whenever you move the camera.
No, I stopped synching weeks ago. And when I was, the only messing with it I did was to move them from the destination folder on my desktop to another location, then check to make sure the "deletion" was mirrored in my Mega.
This is how I DL from Google Drive, and it's totally problem-free. One click and stuff starts downloading.

Yeah, assuming I'm correct that other people DLing my uploads doesn't actually affect my Mega quota. I figured all along that was a safe assumption, but I don't actually KNOW. 🙂
I actually stopped uploading to Mega because I was afraid other people DLing my uploads was what was keeping my quota permanently at zero. But if that's not the case and you guys love it so much, I guess I'll start putting all my stuff on Mega. No need to waste my space on Google Drive when I have all that space on Mega that's useless to me otherwise.
I guess Morri has it right, because while every single IP I try through my VPN has hit the limit, the exact totals vary each time.
Weird thing is, my limit is hit, even when I turn my VPN off. Which is total nonsense because I doubt I've even DLed 70gb from there in the last month, with any IP.
Closed Mega tab, reconnected my VPN through a different IP, opened a new Mega tab, nothing's changed, my quota's still maxed out.
This never happens with Google Drive. There is no cap that I'm aware of.
Still haven't heard any reason to put up with this stuff from Mega, over Google Drive. I could see if storage space was an issue for me, then putting up with this would make sense. But it isn't, at this point.

Last time I tried to DL anything from there was like 24 hours ago. It pretty much stays like that, AFAICT.
I also don't like how Mega puts the "save" dialog at the back end of the process. So when it finishes, I'm doing something else, and run the risk of getting ye olde "window focus rape" sitch where I'm clicking on one thing and instead inadvertently save the file in the wrong place.
