I actually stopped uploading to Mega because I was afraid other people DLing my uploads was what was keeping my quota permanently at zero. But if that's not the case and you guys love it so much, I guess I'll start putting all my stuff on Mega. No need to waste my space on Google Drive when I have all that space on Mega that's useless to me otherwise.
September 22, 2018 at 4:48 PM #772599Well, I suppose at least there will be some value in it for you that way. :0/
September 22, 2018 at 4:51 PM #772605Yeah, assuming I'm correct that other people DLing my uploads doesn't actually affect my Mega quota. I figured all along that was a safe assumption, but I don't actually KNOW. 🙂

What people download are included in your 1gb, 6 hour quota...
Here's their official statement: "FREE accounts are provided with a transfer quota (uploads plus downloads) that varies depending on our system utilisation. Transfer quota is provided over a dynamic sliding window that is typically less than 24 hours but depends on time of day, ISP, country etc."
September 22, 2018 at 4:54 PM #772615I think we need input from a savyy IT bod on that one.
Edit: That happened just as I was typing the above LOL 🙂

Morlock, what you do, is create a "blind mega account" and put your UPLOADS there, keeping it separate from your personal mega acct that you use to download. that way the downloads from the blind won't affect your own personal DL quota.
September 22, 2018 at 5:47 PM #772718@Morlock You can install and use Tor Browser and every time you get beyond quota just RESTART TOR Browser and it gives you a new Tor circuit for Mega so you can always download more and more files...

September 22, 2018 at 8:14 PM #772859oh my, are you synching a folder on your local drive? disable the sync, or at the very least, point it to an empty folder. If you sync a folder that you are constantly effing with, it's going to cause the files to update and transfer to mega. which, will use your transfer quota.
i only say that cuz your picture shows 1.21 gb stored, but 70GB transferred? if that is the case, and you edit a 1 gb file 70 times lets say, it'll transfer each time it edits. mega does file level sync, so i bet that also could be your issue. at least look in the mega client and see if you have that setup ... settings / syncs and look at what folders you are synching. I would target that to empty folder. or remove syncs completely./
September 23, 2018 at 4:21 PM #773879No, I stopped synching weeks ago. And when I was, the only messing with it I did was to move them from the destination folder on my desktop to another location, then check to make sure the "deletion" was mirrored in my Mega.
This is how I DL from Google Drive, and it's totally problem-free. One click and stuff starts downloading.
My mega's empty because I downloaded and deleted everything.
September 27, 2018 at 4:49 PM #779158ive only had issues with WE Downloading stuff.
Ive got to DL a crap ton of stuff for mega to lock me out.
September 27, 2018 at 6:58 PM #779322I think this thread has demonstrated the obvious superiority of Google Drive.
September 27, 2018 at 7:09 PM #779336I guess if you DL 8 movies, 30 music CDs, 3 programs and 20 daz bundles a day then Id agree.
September 27, 2018 at 7:18 PM #779347Hell nah on Google Drive. It takes a minute to fail to scan the file for viruses and opens multiple tabs.
September 30, 2018 at 4:23 PM #782962I have never had any download cap unless I was using the app they tell you to use for big files. Only had to use that until I realized it was the browser cache that was limiting not the site. IE was the culprit, switched to chrome to download larger files and never had a issue since. Mega also popped up with message saying download my stop part way through cuz of size and high traffic on site. Still downloaded just fine.
