You could try loading the Genesis 8 character, saving the skin as a material preset then applying the preset to the genesis 8.1 character.

Have you updated to 4.23 recently?

I finally decided to upgrade to 4.23 and I notice a lot of the pose controls for the face, at least for Genesis 8 are missing. Things like nose wrinkle, brow compression and eyelid up and down are now gone. It has completely messed up the expressions of existing scenes for me.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Nevermind.

It looks like I have to select the character now instead of the head. It still messed up the expressions but at least I can redo them the same.

I normally select the head in the scene tab when doing expressions but for some reason this one didn't work that way. It does work fine selecting the character instead. Thanks for the help.

Those files are listed in the readme file, I wonder why they would have been removed. Do you get any errors when loading the character?

If you select the clothing and go to the surfaces tab, you can make it see through by reducing "cutout opacity". You shouldn't need anything any kind of addon.

I guess if it was an added file outside the DIM, that didn't get installed into the Daz directory, I wouldn't mind it as much. But then that would be easy for others to remove and upload elsewhere.
