Looking forward to that, @baf-mcnab I'm glad people are willing to share their inspirations with this community.
September 11, 2018 at 1:46 am #755851Hm... not so sure I was "inspired" as much as I was "I need art for my game, and my artist just quit on me, so... hmm... DAZ looks interesting!" - and it went from there.
Of course, I look at cool renders and go "oh, that would be fun to do", and I'm trying to improve a bit every time, play with other programs and generally just become better at it.
I mostly do my game, and the occassional "for fun" render, although not so much of the latter recently as my main render-card died on me, and I'm currently running on old crap 😉
Here's a nice little thing I did the other day, basically to test the new bike that was out (it sucks) and Rei (she doesn't suck):

Thank you and I am speechless with your very interesting entry. Thank you.September 11, 2018 at 5:25 am #756024Thanks. For both the kind words, and the points.
September 12, 2018 at 1:12 pm #757696For me, my interest in 3D was almost accidental. Don't get me wrong, I was always fascinated with Hollywood special effects with reference to 3D... from the wonderment of Toy Story, to the magic and awe of Jurassic Park... but for me, it was the Sims.
I was addicted to the Sims and would play that game until the wee hours of the morning, sometimes only giving myself an hour or two of sleep (if any) before having to head for work. I loved making them coffee, getting them to eat dinner before the flies got it, making it to the bathroom in the nick of time, and getting those promotions so that you could buy the cappuccino maker instead of the boring coffee pot.
Then one day, I Googled (or was it Yahoo'd?) hacks for the Sims, and what did I see? People were putting costumes on their Sims. Batman, Superman, the Joker... all different kinds. My quest to learn how to emulate that lead me to the Freebies sections of Rendo and the now defunct RuntimeDNA, and eventually DAZ. I obtained the Millenium Woman, V2, V3, Michael, Stephanie... hell, I remember when Stephanie and the Freak were the free items of the month at DAZ. Suffice to say that I replaced one addiction for another.
Back then, I was inspired by the art of Morris and Awful Soul. Today, I'm inspired by many artists, some acclaimed and some right here on Zone. The inspiration I have gotten from the Zone and DeviantArt communities help me to strive to make better art every day.
For my contest entry, I decided to create a newer, updated version of a render I did in July of 2003. The URLs are shortened, because they are not safe for work, but the first link is the old image, and the second link is the newer image, and my contest entry.

http://bit.ly/2COfdAPIt's amazing how far 3D has come in 15 years!
September 12, 2018 at 1:30 pm #757728Outstanding @robf4g210. Your July2003 is beautiful! and your upgrade is equally spectacular on it's own accord. Thank you for your entry, Rob!
Just to clarify that your entry is the "New Image"This contest is definitely heating up now. Your entry point bonus is on it's way.
Thank you.I understand that I am not the only one whom may be effected by this storm, so I'm asking any entries in the next week that if I don't reply that only means my internet/power has yet to be restored. I will be back online as soon as I can. Get busy if you haven't yet submitted your entry. Thank you all.
September 12, 2018 at 1:59 pm #757762Yes, the new render is the entry. And I won't take offense to you saying that the new render is equally spectacular, @arthurgarcia! 🙂
I also forgot to list Blackhearted as an early inspiration. Back in the early 2000s, Blackhearted was making art that would still hold up today.
September 12, 2018 at 7:07 pm #758068First, thanks @arthurgarcia for this contest. I'm finally going to jump in. I was inspired to 3D Art by classic Sci-Fi like Star Trek and Star Wars and the current availability of resources. Used Easy Environments EXO Planet I, Aureska Hol HD, Star Warrior outfit for G8F with lightsabers, UAEF Arachnid Escort Class Destroyer, and Adventure Girl Outfit for G3F. Post work to glow lightsabers and overlay to produce blue tint overall.
September 12, 2018 at 9:24 pm #758159That render is totally inspirational! It's amazing how much 3D art inspires sci-fi inspires 3D art and so on. Your bonus entry points are on their way and thank you for sharing this part of you with our community.
September 13, 2018 at 5:29 pm #759296Here is a render for the spirit of competition this was actually inspired by @LA_Pucelle artwork in this contest
My interest in 3D is that in 3D World people play as if they were The Creator(s) be it the mathematician(s) or magician(s) or both...September 13, 2018 at 5:55 pm #759319AnonymousInactiveRank:@jason - You need to read the rules on how to post NSFW renders, cause this is not the proper way! @tomsk
@ladyburger Fixed 😀
September 13, 2018 at 11:19 pm #759631@Jason, this is exactly what inspires me; all the wonderfully talented and humble artist right here on Zonegfx. September 14, 2018 at 6:43 pm #760818Honestly? The making of necrophiliac digital art. And sometimes more 'vanilla' sexual art. The medium is an excellent outlet for urges that are best kept between the ears.
