@frank22, the art contest winners often got 10K points (or more). Many times, anyone who participated got 100 - 500 points. That's 200, 2, and 10 "free" items respectively. Not sure what you meant by "free admin points or free products."
April 21, 2025 at 11:59 AM #2126014I think so.
It is obsessive behaviour.
'Ooohh Shiny!'
Too much still isn't enough. :00
I am guilty of it myself.

April 21, 2025 at 5:14 PM #2126032Vendors aren't stupid. They know sharing sites exist and some tend to get aggressive about their content which is to be expected. I used to side eye people who were part of clubs here but now I don't. I totally understand them especially if it's some of the high volume fillers here with costly assets. I made a jokingly post a while back about needing AA (Assets Anonymous) because of my old habit of hoarding certain assets. Keyword, "Old habit" as since joining AA I've done a much better job of letting go of assets that when I look back now on all seemed rather useless.
Since joining AA I've retired my Gen 3 series which cleared up a substantial amount of space on my PC and now I'm half way through my Gen 8 series. I've accumulated A LOT of poor quality, badly made junk throughout the years and now that's all behind me but first I had to learn to leave the gluttonous side of that behind. Where am I going with this? Well, seeing as a neat freak like me had this sort of habit I'm pretty sure a lot of users have this same issue.
Hoarding and snatching up assets that they probably haven't even loaded up yet and that are just collecting dust on their hard drives. Because of this compulsive behavior assets to these individuals have lesser value now. To them, it's all about getting every new assets versus what they actually need and/or are going to use. How does this tie into the Fillers and ZoneGFX in general?
Well, if you don't see any value in the assets that you're are garndering like hot cakes then I'm sure you probably don't care about any rules and definitely not the individuals filling these requests. But even with my insatiable appetite I had years ago for hoarding I've always made sure I respected my peers especially the ones that were decent to me and kind enough to fill my requests.
I can't count how many times I myself have filled a request and that same individual in the fill sheet list leaked that same request. And nevermind the fact that that said request is still very much hot so to speak and I usually like to wait a certain period of time at least before even considering posting it in the Latest blog section. But some of the leechers here don't care about that, it's consume, consume, and more consuming.
If the members of this site was loyal to ZoneGFX and not RenderState, ShadowCore, F95 or any of the other sites out there I honestly wouldn't care as much. But since this site is the be all end all when it comes to assets and knowing that now whatever gets posted here in the blogs is more than likely going straight to the internet including those sites I just named. To protect my derriere I tend to sit longer on assets then rapid releasing them. But of course that's "Hoarding assets" to simple minded folks here.
Is it a prefect method? No but it works for me.
There also the likelihood that Users here may be sitting on valuable assets (not being just Daz and 3d content) and if they only want to share with the members of ZoneGFX and not the entire internet but can't because of our leech problem. Can you really blame people for not only joining private clubs but not filling request anymore?
April 21, 2025 at 6:58 PM #2126039Having read the opinions of others; I say - as I said before - I can understand why people would be wary of filling requests because they've been burnt by those on the fill sheet. I get it. But, having said that, if two, three or even four people on a long request sheet behave in a less than honourable manner, then, by all means share only with people who have been proven to be trustworthy. Personally, I've never had trouble with anyone for whom I filled a request. And, I have filled items from small sites where the vendors can get really worked up about their assets being shared, so I haven't shared them to the blog, yet the people who requested the assets have been completely decent and genuine and didn't repost them here or elsewhere.
The way I see it is this; absolutely ghost the untrustworthy, but don't take your paranoia and mistrust out on everyone else on the list, bar the five people you share with, when they haven't proven themselves to be dishonest. I also notice that - not only have the fills slowed to a trickle, very few people are posting new items to the main blog. And, as to the original point of the thread, the lack of sharing - via whichever medium one chooses, be it by filling requests or posting to the blog - will have a knock on effect on the site as a whole.
Personally, I'm not one of the people who wants every new item on the market. I'm not ''gluttonous''. I only really care about collecting historical, fairytale, or gothicesque clothing, props or architecture, certain style hair, shaders or really unique looking models, who aren't the usual big boobed dolls or musclebound himbos. I don't like 90% of the stuff that is requested. I don't fill up on skimpy lingerie or s3x toys, or explicit poses from Renderotica (I've never bought an item there, because it's not my thing) or anything that looks too modern or Brutalist. I'm not into sci-fi either, or anything contemporary; fashion or otherwise. I don't care about most game ripped characters; bar a few that actually look realistic. However, if I see items that I don't usually buy languishing in the request section for a long time, I buy them - even if the bounty is really low and only two people requested the item. Those items, once d/l'd, I keep on a separate HD that I unplug from my PC and put away in a drawer, once I've done uploading them. I know I'll never use them myself, but I keep them, in case anyone needs them in future.
I'm probably one of the few people who actually does make use of what's on my PC, because the art I like to create is either fairytale, historical or dark/gothic. When I see an item that looks like it will be useful, I request it. If the request is left dying a slow death, then, finances permitting, I buy it myself and fill the request, along with a few others.
I genuinely would love to be able to fill more often than I do, but I'm a single mum with six month old twins, who works part time from home, and as you can imagine, I'm not as flush with cash as I was before I became a parent. And I don't have a fancy PC or a state of the art graphics card. My laptop, which I use for work, is relatively new. But this old thing that I use to render and for non work stuff, is a rebuilt, secondhand Dell PC that I bought almost three years ago with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card. So anyone who thinks ''well, if you can afford internet conncection, a PC, and a graphics card, you can afford to buy all the assets you want'' is way off the mark. Not all PCs or graphics cards are top of the range and new or nearly new. I used to say the same, before I had kids. Having kids alters your priorities. Fine; if you're single or retired with time on your hands, and no kids or grown up kids, then yeah, I'm sure throwing down a hundred quid on a Daz item is no big deal to you. But if you're a single parent of young kids working part time, or a person in a household where only one wage is coming in, and you've got a child or children, then it's not the breeze you think it is. You have to take care of your family and your bills before you can consider buying a hobby item. Anyway, that is all I'm going to say about that.
Belated Happy Easter.
April 21, 2025 at 11:12 PM #2126055That's true @ulysses but I saw promoting art as an alternative to people just coming here to grab stuff, which most on this thread are complaining about. I guess as I don't up or DL anything anymore it would give me more of a reason to visit.
April 22, 2025 at 8:12 AM #2126136Unless your going to give some incentive to participate its probably not gonna happen. Any forum not active for a year should be shit canned. Any forum lacking participation for 3 months should be considered on probation. Base on my observation the only thing we need is an I want section, A here it is section and a come here to ask questions or complain section. Streamline it to 3 forums maybe 4. Have 4 Site rules and a sub section of member art.
People here basically steal. So trust isn't something thieves are known for. Mutual respect possibly. Pirating in my experience was never about points, hoarding or swapping. If you had it, it got posted. While the point gimmick is effective to promote sharing it also had the opposite effect on some. Ive brought and posted content for the reason people held it behind a point pay wall and wouldn't put it in the wild. When point hoarding and back trades became a virus here I deleted my links and took a break.
Ive been here over 7 years it seems
April 22, 2025 at 12:30 PM #2126161@reinecarola, agreed. It has been suggested here on a few occasions that a list of bad actors be kept. The list would be filled by those who fill requests and notice that what they share gets uploaded to the blog within a short time afterwards. The list doesn't have to be made public. It could be made available to those who fill requests to see who is on it and then the fillers can decide for themselves who to skip. But then, the bad actors would just create a new account and start it all over again. Thus, iirc the ptb decided it wasn't worth the hassle to do it.
And, as one recent whale found out a while ago, filled requests would have 20% more downloads than the number of people who requested the item. So obviously, download links were being shared with others.
It's a conundrum, but so far, no better options have been found.
April 23, 2025 at 4:23 AM #2126225I was looking to play a very old game. Turns out unless I get if from GOG I probably can't play it on Win11.
While browsing for it I found FitGirl.
Seems she likes repacking and sharing content. What I didn't find on her site is a point system.I've been downloading a lot of old movies from YTS. People randomly request movies in the comments. Something I didn't find was a point system.
Been awhile since I downloaded music. Forget the site but oddly they don't have a point system either.
Remarkably they all have another thing in common. Not many mad people upset because something got shared when it wasn't supposed to.
Somehow content still gets posted and people are mostly happy. I have no idea how this magic happens. There was a Wizard site named KAT long long ago in a far away land. Tons of random crap found it's way into the castle. Before the orcs stormed it I recall the wizard never worrying about points or who posted what. It all found it's way to the wizards lair and all was good.
If I've found anything out about life and work is there is always someone waiting to replace you and based on the span of time you don't have much of it.
April 23, 2025 at 4:27 PM #2126295@d0gg0d FitGirl repacks!
Some of the very best, most competent repacks I've ever come across. I know we're going off-topic, but I did have to boost that. Even though I have legit Sims 4, the whole rapey DLC model is too much, and FitGirl's repack has a perfectly working DLC engine that offers both online and offline modes, and 1-click add-remove. Immaculate! I stopped using EA's POS completely.April 23, 2025 at 4:41 PM #2126296Yes, they are excellent wizard level acheivements in packaging. 🙂
April 24, 2025 at 3:50 AM #2126324April 24, 2025 at 6:03 PM #2126403People who are sharing privately aren't following the rules, so it's hard to explain to new users when that's the case.
Private sharing has been going on here for a long time. It's hard for new members to understand over a decade of history that's happened in during their first couple of months of membership. Everything that has and can occur on a site like this can't be documented. It's a learning experience. The longer you're here, the more you'll learn and know.
You haven't been burned. You just didn't get in on the request. You did what you're supposed to do. You opened a new request. Patience.
April 24, 2025 at 8:49 PM #2126421You paid in monopoly money given to you. You lost nothing. Yes it can be annoying.
April 24, 2025 at 11:53 PM #2126433If you think people are grumpy here just take a look at Civitai at the moment.
