@otero33, Wow! He makes amazing items but I feel it's rather niche.
As sad as it is to say, Sex is still the top seller. I saw a post in RenderHub's forums last week(?) talking about how some boob morph was first on the item page when you selected either 'Trending' or 'Most popular'. I've been checking most days since then and its still the same...tit's are tops (sorry, couldn't resist).Reading his comment that sales are half of what they where was disheartening but I'm sure it's more than just no money. Many folks who've been at it for awhile have hard drives that are overflowing with content. I rarely buy anything anymore as I have sooooooo much.
February 1, 2026 at 12:30 AM #2161894Yes, I feel bad for PAs who genuinely try to make products interesting and still can’t reach a satisfactory income. Those are the ones who really deserve success.
What I didn’t understand were the comments like “I didn’t even sell 50% of what I did last year,” “I don’t need feedback at all,” and “I’ll just pump out even more products, smaller and faster,” especially since he doesn’t seem to realize how contradictory his own words sound.
One of his followers went all in with comments that actually made a lot of sense, but that probably would’ve been better shared in a private message. I think he felt hurt reading facts laid out so bluntly. It's frustrating for both sides.
February 1, 2026 at 12:43 AM #2161895While not directly on topic for this thread here, this thread over at RenderHub does have some bearing on it....
https://www.renderhub.com/forum/14347/feedback-request-marketplace-ai-policy-updateFebruary 1, 2026 at 11:54 AM #2161949Retaliating to your customers expressed views is totally counterproductive.
Especially if what is being said is constructive criticism.
All you will do is alienate more customers.
Think about the observations, & decide what you wish to do about it, don't just lash out in response.
If you do that you lose another customer. The adage, 'The customer is always right.' is not correct in itself, but it is always worth bearing in mind.

February 1, 2026 at 12:55 PM #2161958And it doesn't help the PA's that we're stealing their stuff too.
February 1, 2026 at 12:56 PM #2161959with all the discount on the daz shop (premium + random discount + token) PA earn between 0.5 and 3$ on a 20$ product.
so yes, no more crazy thing who take month to create to finally earn 200$February 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM #2161960@saer, Yes, many have complained about that. I buy from a PA's private site if they have one.
February 1, 2026 at 2:24 PM #2161963It is Daz's business model that is fundamentally flawed.
Rather than simplifying the process, which is of benefit to the customer & indirectly the vendor, they are always complicating & obfuscating the process, making it less likely that folk will buy.
Another complication for the customer...
why do you need more than one premium membership level?:0/
February 1, 2026 at 3:16 PM #2161966@eelgoo, I'm sure that some marketing genius is behind all of it. I see hints of dissatisfaction in their forums but anything pointed gets deleted quickly.
February 1, 2026 at 3:49 PM #2161969Yes, draconian moderation is another of their MOs. :0/
February 1, 2026 at 5:56 PM #2161986Efficiency will delegate the industry.
AI will eventually catch up to where it's lacking and in order to be competitive you will either use it or suffer. A simple search 3D artist vs AI brought up several links showing how fast AI is learning.
This is just one video of many. Its still not perfect but its capable of doing a good bit of the work. Eventually most of the work. One day, all of the work.
You can generate whatever you want in minutes to seconds, touch it up and go to the next project.
February 1, 2026 at 6:24 PM #2161989That last one is particularly impressive.
I suppose once the generated 3D models are generated & downloadable, the next step for the human models would be rigging?
🙂
February 2, 2026 at 5:51 AM #2162043Why even rig them when AI can probably animate them without a skeleton?
If needed AI could probably rig them now or eventually. You can make up a person from a few random photos or words.
Have AI construct a 3d model of that person. Place it in a 3d environment generated by a painting or a place, light it with an AI generated HDRI then animate it with prompts. One person with a streamlined workflow could probably do that in what? A few minutes. Maybe a couple hours if started from 0.While all this isn't exactly perfect its getting close. Sure there will be people that tweak the flaws but you dont need a person that can texture, or light, or sculpture, ect... that might help but literally anyone with no skill can create anything. So the people with skills/talent will have to be exceptional and you're only going to need a few. An entire AAA game studio could be 6 people. What is now a 150 million dollar film with a huge crew might be 10 now and have all digital actors. R+D for a new car engine might be 3 engineers feeding data into an AI then 3d printing prototype.
The affects AI will have will be both unparalleled and catastrophic. Once they get the new robots running enhance AI a larger portion of the labor force will be affected and we've only touched on what weapons are going to be created. They're already using AI for targeting decisions.
For me it may not matter much. I may get away with not being affected in my profession but I see it creeping slowly in. My daughter is 4 and my grandkids are all in their teens. They will almost all be affected in some way.
IMHO its like the discovery and use of nuclear power. It will do amazing things to change the world and when it goes wrong it wont be pretty.
Artist will be hit hard and you can already see it happening. They'll have no choice but to use AI and no reason not to. Many wont survive the purge.
February 2, 2026 at 9:20 AM #2162072In my case I would like them rigged so they can be used in Studio.
I'm not into animation.February 2, 2026 at 1:06 PM #2162109I would expect that someone will develop an import tool that will rig AI generated figures (like SAM 3D) as part of the import process.
