There are a few thing involved.
1 The software
I think this site is build on a wordpress tamplet
The building of pages and categories on it's own is not a big issue, often it is the possibilities you have behind that( the more expensive software packet, the more you can do)
Things like this are database driven, and messing with an existing database is something I would not like to do....
So adjusting would basically mean rebuild the site, and adjusting every database entry already there
2 Moderation
There are a lot of people here, and if you want to have any idea of how many posts a day come up, just click the activity on top of the page and count the amount of entries in one day.
As said before, moderators do have a live beside the Zone. Checking all these entries is a 24/7 job
This is why we have to report bed entries, dead links etc. It is just to much workBut he, we are a close community, in the cense we all are trying to keep the site in order by using the right tags, we apologise if we double post , we help each other out if we can( that includes the mods)
It is my experience that new members have a bit of difficulty on how the site works, how to do things. But over time we all catch up.all the above is a personal view, just to be clear

https://zonegfx.com/tag/genesis-9/I assume that less than 1% of the users would combine tags. Even if it is easy to setup as 'Daz3D and G9' who would actually do it? The risk to miss many posts due to bad tagging is quite high.
'not UE' could be a good thing but once again for content which is Daz3D + UE one would be missing the post. For sure not a good filter.
When creating content there are no per-defined / moderated tag lists as far as I can tell. Creators need to enter tags manually and doing this properly is not too easy.
A drop down box that doesn't have a default option selected (that you must choose one from) or an auto-completing text entry field (both possible with WordPress, I use it every day) is better than one with a default option that everything gets shoveled into when people are lazy.
The idea of keeping the house clean ourselves is kinda what I'm proposing. To continue the metaphor, we just need mom and dad to get us the cleaning supplies because we're children and they won't sell dangerous chemicals to us directly.
So before a post goes live its how difficult to drag and drop (approve) it into a created file home? If its uploaded wrong then fix it before it goes live.
Even the current post that are up shouldn't take more than a few hours a day to separate. When I first joined the site it took me roughly a couple days to go through the entire site and download almost everything. I would think that if the file structure allowed it, a couple hours a day the entire site would be organized in a few weeks. Its not like there is just one mod. 3 mods giving 2 hours every other day for a month is 90 hours. Do you think it would take longer to organize the file structure?
I don't think mods are force to do this. They do this because maybe the like to mod? If you like doing something, then wouldn't you want it to function smooth and efficiently? If they are here for other reasons and hate doing this, then those reasons would be interesting to hear. Some have been here for quite a long time.
I still am able to get most everything I want since search works somewhat. But if I were new looking for all male G3 hair it would take a while. Searching male brings up feMALE hair as well. My issue really isn't separating hair and morphs. My issue is seeing tons of content I will never use. It's not particularly difficult to skim over 2 pages of animations for a program I don't have but it's annoying.
I could probably post a few hundred photography books and fill the next few days of content with them. At one time I bundled all the old poser content I could find in a few downloads. I could have easily spammed them separately. I took into consideration it was old content and this (I thought) was primarily a Daz site. People will say its free so stop complaining. If someone gave me a free bike without a chain or peddles then I guess my response would be Thanks?
If we decide to organize things, it doesnt have to be all dumped on the mods & admins lap, either. ALL OF US can chip in if we have a few moments of spare time, if we each just properly tag a few items whenever we get a chance and clean up, it would be done pretty quick. A lot if the info could probably be "Scraped" from the store sites programmatically to save time as well.
Could also offer up points for the tasks, so people low on points can earn more to download stuff, by helping to tag.While a nice thought. I think a statement I heard a person make the other day in a YT interview seems a better option. He was the creator of an online program and had one other person he trusted to help him. The community offered to help him, and he said he would have less control over how he wanted it to be. He wanted to stay within his vision. If you want to see how a person's vision can be screwed up by opening it up to everyone, then look no further than current Disney productions.
Points for tags seems be a bad idea as some members could tag randomly to get points.
Allowing custom tags would for sure lead to a mess.
With a pre-defined list of tags it should be easy enough for everyone to add or remove tags when downloading something or reviewing some assets. One could queue these tag suggestions and a mod could apply the suggestions (e.g. if there are 5 or more 'Vehicle' tags. Not a direct single point for 'good' tags and no minus points for bad tags. If one really wants to give points one should do this later.)
Those are all valid concerns, but I was meaning as a way of cleaning up what is already here on the system. Future uploads could easily be handled, by forcing tags to be included in the post, and it cannot get posted without tags without an error message. Can also be verified by the store link the uploader supplies, either by scraping programmatically or manual verification.
Rules state no NSFW images be posted unless it's a link only. There is a NSFW image currently posted. Its been up 2 days now. Read what you want into this observation.
Yep there are some titties visible there Adam 😁.... I agree about rules being rules. I also understand the site's policy about NSFW because that's not somewhere we want to go in the art forum.
About the most hilarious thing I ever read about the consequences of accidental exposure to NSFW content was a sarcastic comment on reddit. DO NOT READ IF EASILY OFFENDED.@Adam
I do get your point. At he moment there is a lot off posts that are not DAZ. And MI to find it cluttering.
But again, the mods are voluntaries, you are talking about a few hours a day to check every new entry. One must have that time....
Sure things are not perfect, there is always room for improvement.
But again, we can not blame the admins if we do not tag propper.

This is a never ending discussion, so this will be my last post on it.My point is a modder "job" is to mod. If you're not going to do it then you probably shouldn't sign up for it. Thats like me volunteering to give out food at a homeless shelter then going to a movie theater instead. If I didn't plan to do it I shouldn't have told them I would. If I said I would in front of some girl that likes people that do nice things just so I could get into her pants then you can look at that as a smart move or a POS move.
My titty example to "me" suggests that over 3 days a mod didnt happen to browse by a titty post. I can post some off the wall comment in some other forum and be banned before I close the window.
There is a time limit before these posts go live. I was under the impression that the delay was so the mods could inspect the link, thumbnail, duplicate, virus check and whatever else they may need to check. This however was a huge mistake on my part.
So I have no Fn idea why they put in a delay. I pretty much thought I gave up my bitching and decided to just say screw it, it is what it is and just download content but eventually someone kicks my horse and stirs up the flies..... and the May award goes to.... Adam! Though you have made some good points in that post 😁. My concern is if nobody is actually vetting the images there's a chance something much worse could be posted.

Not sure how you confuse a way to improve something with something a person thinks they deserve. Then again I never thought we'd need laws to keep men from performing in women's sports. Maybe women finally got equal to rights they felt entitled to and once they got them they really didn't want them. Next time a person ask what your opinion is on improving something just let them know you aren't entitled enough to form an opinion. Let me know how it works out.
