As far as Mega not keeping links live - never a problem.
I have only ever used Mega.
Been here for a good 5 years or so, even my very first link is still up and active.I also think that some links are reported dead because they are on a number of other crappy host sites that constantly give Access Unavailable type message or have access issues that after several attempts prompts the 'buyer' to say f-it, dead link again.
This is why I repeatedly suggest adding the host name to a visible field that can be checked before having to commit to buying.
There are plenty that if I see them will not even be attempted to purchase. In fact after so many problems I would be very likely to only DL those showing as Mega.Most PAs make their money within the first few weeks of publishing and that's why I like the idea of delayed Upcoming Posts and why new shares are so aggressively taken down. Without the PAs we wouldn't have anything so give them some time to earn some money. We may be pirates but not necessarily ones who don't have some morals. I never share anything new and after 2 weeks my link to Rosemary Winters on page 2 of this thread is still live. I suppose this runs counter to this age of instant gratification.
