I just checked in my deleted folder in my emails. Each email I got (1 per user that flagged the post), in the email it absolutely DOES state the username of who flagged it.
So go check your emails and you will see who flagged your posts
July 1, 2022 at 12:54 AM #1826291That could be the case but that doesn’t explain why still live links would be reported as dead. A few days ago I accidently saw a share of mine in the Dead Posts section. I checked the link, DL it and it was still working perfectly, so I got it put back up on the blog with a “new link”, which was the same as the old one because it still worked.
Why would multiple people report a live link as dead when it isn’t? I think it was just one.One reason why multiple people would flag an active link as dead is.. if the link shows a quota exceeded error (happens with google links.. too many people downloading)
I've had that happen for some of my posts..July 1, 2022 at 12:56 AM #1826292I just checked in my deleted folder in my emails. Each email I got (1 per user that flagged the post), in the email it absolutely DOES state the username of who flagged it.

Checking mails wouldn't be possible if we had used a disposable mail for registering 🙂 (which I guess is the case with a lot of people here)
July 1, 2022 at 1:48 AM #1826300Which is my case @Gladson1976 and I also have email notifications turned off for that reason. So it would be nice if we had a "Flagged as dead by...so-and-so" on the actual post itself. I could then PM that person/s and clarify or send a new link. My share, which I referred to earlier, wasn't re-posted so it could be for innocent reasons outlined by gts6.
I shouldn't really complain because most people are legit and I've got so much great stuff from here free. Don't want to kick Santa in the balls.July 1, 2022 at 3:20 AM #1826313I also think it was probably not malicious. There's no real benefit to doing something like that for points, they GIVE you enough points to purchase whatever you want simply for logging in! It doesn't get much easier than that. It takes FAR longer to scour the database for something not already here or dead, pack it, upload it to a host, get postimg pictures, copy and paste details, links, SKUs.. Take much longer than just logging in and being done with it (trust me ive done it lots this week, lol. takes a bit of time). Not complaining, glad I did it, it keeps the shares alive, because some of them may still be out in the wild, sites disappear, and if those sites disappear and those posts are dead here, they are gone for all. Plus lots of people here might not be capable to find in the wild, and some people are new and never saw them the first time around, and wouldnt search for them since they dont know they exist.
July 1, 2022 at 4:16 AM #1826325You're probably absolutely right gts6.
As a test with regard to take-downs and filehost resilience to takedown notices, here's a link to Rosemary Winters on MediaFire. I'm assuming the notices are generated by what is posted on the "All Posts" blog rather than purely file name searches on file sharing sites, or comments in the General Chat thread. I've been providing lots of requests via PMs for this character while it never survives on the general sharing blog. We may have to start sharing via PMs with encrypted files so as to circumvent the takedowns. Personally I like the idea of delayed shares so that PAs can make their money while the going is good and not disrupt the profit-making process that sustains the 3D industry.
Let's just see how long this link survives on MediaFire regardless by who, how, if and when it gets taken down. Call this day one.July 1, 2022 at 5:00 AM #1826335I do beleive Mediafire is easier to keep links live compared to Mega. Wouldnt be surprised if Mega simply removes files by default, anytime someone complains, without even verifying it. Then if you dispute it, they will re-activate the file if you can prove it doesnt violate. Thats the way it seems, anyway.
July 1, 2022 at 4:41 PM #1826627@Frank22 Some vendors have posted in replies that they will report the blog and public sharing, but NOT attempt to restrict private sharing. Your share above is by one of those vendors/members and will likely get reported soon.
Blog posts are a major concern for vendors because they get grabbed and immediately posted on other share sites. We are the source for most of what's in the wild. I don't like it, but I understand why some vendors go hard on us.
Like you, there are some shares that I only make via PM.
July 3, 2022 at 1:11 AM #1827267@Frank21 - fyi, if something is wrongly flagged as dead, you can use the report button to PM the mod and tell them it's fine/a false report or to provide a new link. IMO, it's easier than making a new post but ymmv
July 3, 2022 at 1:36 AM #1827284I ended up using the report button and put in the same link as before, because it still worked. It took about half a day for my share to go back on the blog... probably due to me being on the other side of the globe.
July 7, 2022 at 3:42 AM #1828858Yeah, that's about the time it's taken for me too. The mods have always been reasonable about false reports and other bullshit with me
July 8, 2022 at 1:42 AM #1829255I could not agree more. I keep finding my posts in the dead area with valid links attached. But I did start a ruckus with some snitching creators recently, so I could also be getting fall out from that battle as they land on my name.
July 8, 2022 at 2:36 AM #1829265Maybe instead of an email a site notification should be sent for those who have dummy email accounts and/or have email notifications disabled. Otherwise you don't know your posts have been flagged.
July 8, 2022 at 5:27 AM #1829300Yeah, some creators spend more time combing sites like this and immediately squashing the posts than they do creating. Others just know pirates be pirates.
I do try before I buy, if I find something that works well and I will use again and again, I will buy it, even though I have it already. We need to encourage those creative folks, otherwise there will be no new releases.
I actually released a very poor morph on Renderosity that was pirated after 2 sales.
Didn't care as like I said it was nothing special.
I think we should all pay for the good things we find whenever possible, if they aren't good - WTH
As for the mods here, never had any issues so far, always notified after a creator has made a complaint and surely some will complain.
false dead links may be due to users not knowing the ins and outs of download sites, not using ad blockers etc. and often caused by restricted access in certain countries.July 11, 2022 at 6:02 AM #1830284Oops, just did it myself re-upping a dead post and forgetting to tag it as a re-post - Sci Fi Hand Gadgets 1 for Genesis 2, 3 and 8. Apologies to the OP and the rest of ZoneGFX. Looks like matryn isn't around anymore anyway.
