I got a kick out of the obvious Jesus character and accessories at Daz today. I wonder what demographic they're going for? (snicker)
Being located in Utah makes me wonder what/if there's some influence by some religious group or republican politician. I also wonder about this 'Tafi' thing.
We need someone to do some renders of their precious Jesus drunk/stoned, partying with scantily clad women/men and have it come out that he was actually trans. Someone with some knowledge of anthropology and history should also let Daz know that Egyptians in that era where pretty dark, not the pasty white folk as depicted by modern illiterate christian lemmings.March 28, 2024 at 3:34 PM #2066921I'm quite probably in the minority here; but as someone who was raised Roman Catholic, some of the most beautiful art by the old Renaissance Masters have been those which depict Christ. I'm getting Catholic vibes from this character, as opposed to Bible Protestantism. After all; they hate ''idolatry'' do they not??
I actually appreciate whoever created the character, as it will add value to my 3D recreations of famous artworks.
And, liberal as I am, I was raised to respect the religion into which I was born (which was poles apart from Evengelicalism and other forms of purist Protestanism, and taught kindness, respect and love for one's neighbour; regardless of whomever that neighbour might be. My late mum was a devout Catholic, whose faith got her through the worst of times, so I will not be mocking something which she held dear), therefore, there'll be no ''trans'' or otherwise depictions from me.
Of course, I don't expect others to share my views; so have at it. Create whatever art you like.
March 28, 2024 at 3:54 PM #2066928Religious theme aside, which I am personally indifferent about, I do really like the character itself. Thankful for any male characters at all, let alone high quality realistic ones.
March 28, 2024 at 4:02 PM #2066933@Thedamnthing There are too few quality male characters. They're either those hyper masculine animalistic types, or boys who look like Kpop idols.
Whereas, on the other hand there's a surplus of badly made female characters, complete with a wardrobe full of undies, gravity defying boobs, and nipples the size of saucers.
March 28, 2024 at 4:17 PM #2066936Gotta toss in with the others... decent male figures are rare when compared to the babes.
I'd leave it be.
March 28, 2024 at 4:25 PM #2066941@Charley Yeah I agree there's not much in between. I think Daz' first party male figures are usually pretty great but from other sources it turns into a gamble. If any are released at all.
Well, female stuff is what keeps the market afloat so i do get the focus on that. The only issue I have on that front is that a bunch of artists push out characters with nearly the same face a lot these days. ColmJackson, VYK and JASA come to mind which is very unfortunate considering the amazing diversity their older stuff had.
March 28, 2024 at 4:29 PM #2066942@Pooper Personally, I'm fed up to the back teeth of seeing yet another babe, complete with pneumatic boobs, ginormous hips and near uniform facial features. When I think of realistic, decent looking female characters, Gabriella 8 is one that comes to mind and Agrippina for Babina 8 is another. Minerva, Joan and Van Helsing aren't bad either. But realistic female characters are few and far between. The rest are either Playboy bunny types with doll-like faces and bodies, or those female child characters.

March 28, 2024 at 6:49 PM #2066969Charley.....can;t find the meme....but thumbs up!
March 28, 2024 at 6:55 PM #2066972@reinecarola - true, especially the body shapes and proportions, which are are typically ridiculous.
March 28, 2024 at 7:13 PM #2066975@pooper Quality has definitely declined over the years. It's as though a lot of PAs are catering solely to the porn crowd.
How I see it is this: Great; if you want to make your porno adult scenes or animations - fine. But, the majority of porn watchers, IMO, watch to see other humans go at it like knives - not some badly thrown together 3D characters in a repetitive scene from different angles with grunting on a loop.
I think I'm in a very small minority here, because I use 3D figures to make actual art. The type of art that won't have it's viewers reaching for the lotion and a sock. Lol
March 28, 2024 at 7:35 PM #2066978@Medusa I'm far from hyper religious or Puritanical in my outlook. I have nothing whatsover against porn; provided it's between consensual adults. Same goes for 3D; I've seen animations of Vicky et al being buggered by goblins/ogres, etc and even though I rolled my eyes and laughed at the predictable lack of imagination, it's obviously something some people enjoy.
The thing is; my beloved mum passed away not too long ago after a very short illness. All throughout her life she was a devout Catholic. Not one of those hypocritical ''religious'' types who condemn others for their sexuality, etc. She was truly kind, charitable and generous. However, my brother often mocked her faith and took the piss out of the holy pictures she had in her home, and said the most hateful things possible about Christ in order to bring her to tears. Which it did, frequently.
In the end, her faith comforted her, as it had through many other illnesses, and seeing that glib disregard and dsirespect, all in the name of being edgy and comical, got to me.
Granted; there are terrible people out there who masquerade as Christian, but the likes of those - as they have no genuine beliefs - are not going to be bothered. Good people as was my cherished mum, are.

You should never discuss politics or religionreaching for the lotion and a sock??????
Athletic socks?March 28, 2024 at 8:02 PM #2066989The thing about the Jesus character and puritanism is you guys forget about Rule 34.
March 28, 2024 at 8:05 PM #2066991It's Easter... Here in Spain, they are quite stupid for parading puppets in processions, dressed as Ku-Kux-Klan... LOL
