@creationz, I would agree that posting an item without the original donor's consent is certainly very poor etiquette. There are good reasons why donors ask that an item is not shared, not least of which is that the donor wants to post the item him/herself after the private share to requesters offering points.
However, please don't follow your own suggestion to "not fill any more requests". Everyone on the site would lose becuase of the actions of one individual. I would ask the mods to take down the rogue post and replace it with your own.
One person, via PM, asked if the item can be posted publicly and I said that I will post it publicly AFTER I received the points-that person respected my decision. I personally don't care for points. Getting points does not compensate for the real dollars people spend on these items. However, points offer a fun way to share at our discretion. Thank you, AndyMc4 for the good encouragement. I will continue to share as long as people show some consideration.
Agreed with AndyMc4, ask the mods to take down the post from the person who uploaded it without your consent and allow you to post it @creationz. You should be able to show the mods that you pm'ed that user the link.
Also, next time that user requests something, think twice about sharing it with him if you have it. Someone posting another person's share without permission is really, really bad form imo.
I'll have to go find that item just to see who that user was.
We do have to keep things in perspective because the person who should be upset here is the content creator of the product. Maybe the person who shared the item is unaware of the forum etiquette. I am not upset about it all and I will not make the mods take it down.
The artist isnt the one sharing. If you want others to share then those are the ones you need to keep happy. There is a very small percentage ratio of members that actually upload content.
Piss them off and you lose free stuff. The venders are already pissed off. If you care about them so greatly go buy every item you download. What is nice is there are a few venders Ill buy from since I know the products Ive gotten hete are quality. Ive wasted money on several that put little effort into making a good product. If I actually made art for a side job or a living, Id buy every product I use and if you do, you should also. Thanks to this site Im at a point where Ive deleted my DAZ folder 3 times to redo my HD from to much content.
Not a problem I'd have if I were buying everything.To leachers that say they cant afford anything thats bullcrap.
If you cant afford $20 a year for one item sell your computer and buy Fnin food. Drop internet service and buy clothes. Get an Fnun job. Cut grass or sell lemonade.I agree with you, Adam. There's a great community of people here that make this site so awesome. The person who publicly shared with out consent is probably new to the game and I will not let an inadvertent mistake on their part ruin what we have here. Happy sharing everyone!
So, I have to ask...is it considered bad form if a post was acquired at no cost (Daz's PC+ club will put some stuff up that wouldn't normally be free to everybody) and then charge for it here?
This may have been asked and answered someplace else, and if so, I apologize for my ignorance. But to me, this seems wrong.@tony6558 is it poor form for someone to get something for free from another site and then posts it here and get points? We are sharing here and if someone gets an item that normally costs money but gets it for free, how is that an issue? Points are a way of encouraging sharing and limiting hoarding, not a scale of how much someone pays. And FYI, PC+ club costs money so assets gotten by members are not free.

After reading through this thread it is apparent there are a lot of ill-informed hypocrites dwelling here. Kre@tionz hit the nail on the head with " the person who should be upset here is the content creator of the product" full stop
